5'11" and 150 lbs is a perfectly healthy weight. May I ask why you are trying to lose more?

That's great! I have a step and activity tracker on my phone, and it does help motivate me to get in more steps, when I remember to carry it. Over the holidays I got really lazy and gluttonous, though. I started working out again New Year's Eve, so at least I have that, if I don't meet my step goal.

Well, this is where it comes down to personal experience. I find, if I do more than 1 hour of moderate cardio in a day, I can't eat enough to cancel it out. I may be starving at first, but I get full before I reach anywhere near what I burned.

^^THIS. You can lose weight simply by increasing activity. I have done it. I didn't even watch what I ate, yet I lost 20 lbs.

Are you struggling to lose? If so, and you're "not willing to deal with a food scale," then you will probably continue to struggle. It's up to you.

I'm sorry, did you say you have a CUP of honey for breakfast? Or is a cup of water with honey?? How much honey? Just like sugar, honey has a lot of calories, and should be weighed or measured exactly.

I will say, if simply reading a study makes you give up, you will probably struggle. I mean geeze, in the real world most things (and people) will work against you. Do you just give up on life? No, you actively decide to make changes for the better, and you DO IT.

I have a question about that calculator on the site mentioned in the OP. Where do you typically measure your waist? The directions say BELOW your navel and I have never heard of that. On women, I thought it was supposed to be your smallest area, or above the navel.
