  • Welcome. I do around 20 minutes of aerobic exercise a few days a week, other days I walk or use arm weights. I've noticed that any exercise is beneficial.
  • Over 50 as well. I'm taking the slow approach with daily calorie target at 1400-1800 with exercise. I'm not hungry and losing weight. My diet was so bad, I had to learn to eat all over again.
  • A maid of honor dress that made me look like a cow. That did it! I never really minded being fat until that damn dress came along. It showed every roll I had. Down 20 and still counting!
  • I went through the mania at age 40. It's what helped put on my weight... 3-5 lbs each year. This year, at age 57, I had enough! I've been able to lose 20 lbs on 1400-1600 calories a day in 4 months. It is very doable!
  • You can do this. If you mess up one day, get back on track the next. You've got this!
  • The first few weeks I started this app, I didn't set a goal. I just recorded everything I ate to see how much my eating was out of control. On most days, I ate between 2500-3000 calories. I set my daily intake to 1400 calories a day and I also use the 200+ calories exercise gives me each day. Some days I'm extra hungry and…
  • So's how has everyone been doing so far? Most of us are 8-10 weeks into our new journey.
  • And she had 2 children when she started the journey. :)
  • You can! My daughter, age 24, lost 82 lb. in 10 months doing 1560 calories a day with 30 min exercise 5 days a week. She took 10 minutes everyday to plan for tne next by keeping a food diary. She had days she went over the calories. For the most part, she stayed on track. After she lost the first 15, she saw what a…
  • Feel free to add me as well!
  • Hello. I can give you encouragement. Need a little myself from time to time. I'm in this for the long haul.
  • I'm back after a year hiatus. Ready to do this!
  • I work an average of 50- 55 hours per week. I COMPLETELY understand. I lost 30 lb last year working this horrible schedule. I add 15 minutes onto my mornings, M-F, (no more, I love my sleep) and either ride a stationary bike while watching the news ir I pop in a high energy Zumba DVD. Each evening, I take another 20-30…
  • I totally agree. Food can be an addiction. We all know over-eating is bad for our health, yet msny of us still engage in the habit. It becomes a cycle that is difficult to break. The turning point will come when she has had enough. In the meantime, don't judge her eating habits. It will cause hurt and itnwill not help her…
  • This gal is 54 yo. I'm back logging my food after a disastrous summer of over eating and not being accountable. I'd love the support as well!
  • Well said, Katrina! I am back ss well, my 5th day of my journey. I've had some obstacles this week. My dear aunt Shirley passed away yesterday and work gas been stressful. I made it through the week without comfort food to sooth my sorrow. I need to learn, food is not a crutch in difficult times.
  • I have found that 2 packets of instant oatmeal mixed with a tablespoon of peanut butter (300 calories) will satisfy my huge appetite for 3 to 4 hours. Also, hard-boiled egg whites and clear brothnsoups help.
  • I've been at this an entire week now... and will continue the rest of my life. Your story with your husband sounds similar to my guy. In the past, every time I tried to lose weight he'd bring something home and I'd be too tempted. I'd be good all week and then those potato chips would show up. They were just sitting there…
  • It's difficult the first week or two. I remember that from years ago. Buying in bulk from Sam's Club or Costco helps. You can get large bags of lettuce, green beans, broccoli, carrots, chicken breasts, canned tuna and other items that would be more expensive in other stores. One thing I remembered from when my sister was…
  • Hello everyone! Although I originally started out wanting to lose 50 lbs., for my sake, I am now doing it because I have been denied health insurance because my BMI is over 30! I started with a new company last month that does not provide health benefits, although they do give a stipend toward the cost each month. I…
  • Please anyone, feel free to friend me for support. I need the support and to be held accountable.
  • 50 something and counting... I'd like to keep it that way, which brings me here today. Time to make healthy lifestyle changes. Who's with me?
  • I agree, we're all in this together! We have 364 beautiful days ahead of us this year to make changes. There will be days ahead where we'll be challenged with our choices, days we will feel bad about the choices we made, but most of those days we will be victorious in our choices! We can do this. Support from friends is a…
