If you truly enjoy cereal, you might try one that is higher in protein such as Kashi Go Lean. Instead of milk, I mix mine with Greek yogurt and a sliced banana.

Yoga makes my muscles feel so warm and relaxed - I absolutely love it! As you get older, it gets even more important to incorporate stretching/flexibility exercises into your routine. AND, it has been key in helping me overcome my runner's knee.
-
I also run in the early a.m. If I had the room and the money, I would LOVE to have a treadmill.

Last day of 2014: 874.4 miles.

Bless your heart; kids can be so cruel. I wonder what her "skinny" mom is teaching her about how to treat people. I tell my daughter that people come in all sizes; you said the right things to your daughter and she will be the better person for it. Peace. :)

Easy to say, hard to do, but I'd tell her to remember that anyone that unpleasant is probably projecting their own issues onto others. Just smile and try to change the subject. Good luck to her.

It used to be 60 minutes door to door. I've been slowed down significantly due to having to drive through 4 different road construction sites. And they are getting ready to build a new bridge that I have to drive over, so who knows how THAT will affect things...

You ladies ^^^ are kicking my behind! But I'm not giving up!

Well if you're enjoying it, there's your answer!

I have a crazy-busy life and the only time I have to exercise is at lunch. So I exercise for 30 min a day Mon-Thurs and then for an hour on Fridays. Then I do "life movement", cleaning, mowing, laundry, playing with my daughter on the weekends.

I just saw Daughtry and the Goo Goo Dolls a couple of weeks ago. Plain White T's opened for them.

I'm behind, but not irretrievably so.

^^^This was my sister's first album; mine was Elton John "Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only the Piano Player". I have also owned The Eagles Greatest Hits Vol. 1 in Album, 8-Track, Cassette, and CD. I guess I need to buy it digitally some day...

My first thought was to get a heart rate monitor. But Dianne is correct in what she says.

^^^ All of the above! And you know what I do when I don't feel like running? I get on one of these threads and read about how other runners love to run and how good it feels to run and how good you feel when you've finished and how good it feels to run a 5K/10K/Half/Marathon, and I can't wait to get out there and give it…

Hon, I wish I could find the wise words to help you. You have a crazy load of stress in front of you right now. Try to focus on one thing at a time that you can work on. For example, take pride in the on-line courses you are doing - they are a step toward your degree. Fullersun suggested finding a college/university…

Cut 2 zucchini and an onion in chunks. Saute' in 1 TBS olive oil. Add a TBS puree'd artichoke heart and a container of chicken stock. Simmer for 30 minutes. Blend to desired consistency. Yummy soup!

I have also lost about 45 pounds since joining MFP. And yes, I have noticed that people are responding to me differently. But in my case, it's more positive. I can't decide if it's the actual weight loss, or the increase in my self-esteem and subsequent increase in my own level of "out-goingness". Anyway, I'm sorry that…

If you get new shoes and/or your gait analyzed and still have pain, you might consider a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement. I can barely walk without it but run 9-12 miles a week with no problems if I'm taking it. Also, squats will strengthen the muscles around your knee and help stabilize the joint. Good luck!

^^^ This is SO true! I am at maintenance and a trip to the fitting room can set me back many pounds and many months! Congrats on the progress you've made! :flowerforyou: Edited to clarify: set me back psychologically.
-
I have been at maintenance for 7 or 8 months, but MFP doesn't know it. All the previous repliers above me are correct about mindset, life-style change, etc. But it doesn't work for me. When I was losing, and went a few (or a few hundred) Calories over for the day, it simply created a plateau that I eventually overcame. But…

This is why I have not yet notified MFP that I hit my goal. I am playing mind games with myself. It's worked for 6 months, now.

I did the stupid tanning thing when I was a teenager in the 80's. Now I'm paying the price with BCCs being periodically removed from various areas of my arms and face. Last fall I discovered running. The only time I have to work out is at lunch. I work in a very windy area, so I can't wear a cap/hat. This spring (summer,…

I thought this was going to be about running versus lifting. But I love "them" no matter how they're spelled.

:flowerforyou: This is for you and your daughter!
