I weigh monthly as my mood can be adversely affected by the scale. As I am more likely to lose over the course of month all of my weigh-ins so far have been great! 16lbs down! Good luck with whatever you choose to do. xx

Love that work analogy. I'm going to keep that in mind next time I have an off day. X

For me it makes up for the disappointment last year. All three Oxford boats won (inc. Isis and Women's crews) so they must have really strong coaching team.

I weigh myself monthly and I've never felt happier. I too was one of those weigh weekly types and depending on the number, it would determine my mood for the rest of the day/week. I ruined far too many diets focussing on the wrong thing. Its not the number on the scales that's important (though its nice to see a downward…

If the whole task of getting your life in control seems overwhelming, try one aspect at a time. Change one thing, like having really good breakfasts all week, or 2 pieces of fruit everyday, or extra veg with dinner, go for a 20 minute walk. They don't have to be big changes, little ones can have a massive impact too. As…

Try not to weigh yourself for a week or even a month if you can. I know for a lot of people that is tough to do. I have had to divorce my scales as I used to be obsessed with seeing the 'right' number! Now I weigh once a month to make sure I am going in the right direction. My only job, everyday, is to try to eat the best…

Firstly, stop beating yourself up! That's an ORDER! You have had a stressful few days and it is not surprising if your eating doesn't go to plan or even goes horribly wrong. You won't put weight on for one day's binge. If you ask anyone on here who weigh themselves daily, they will tell you that their weight fluctuates up…

Its always the simplest things... Get lots of sleep to help your body recover from bugs and viruses. Drink plenty of water and eat lots of fresh fruit and veg. Give your body the best chance to fight things off. As a random tip, I swear by washing my hair with a few drops of tea tree oil (or shampoo with it) as it is…

I've always been the fat friend... but I have started the journey to be the much thinner friend. Feel free to add.

You need a teapot. Warm the pot first (you boil a full kettle - use some of it to rinse inside the teapot and warm it. Now discard this water.) Now pour in the required amount of water for teacup(s). Add a spoonful of tea for each cup you are making and an extra one for the pot. Let it steep until it is the right strength,…

Twinings English Breakfast tea, Tetley, Typhoo, or Yorkshire. Dribble of milk and let the teabag steep until you can stand the spoon upright in the cup. That's a proper cuppa tea! :drinker:

Where I work, the treat table is in the centre of the office and by the main printer so it is hard to avoid. But I have a choice everytime I go past... do I ... don't I? So far I have abstained. But in the future, I may not always and so I will just log it and move on with my day. Just remember it's your choice whether you…

If you had a deficit of 4751 over the course of the week, that's on average 679 a day below. Seems an awful lot to be under? Try eating to the calories MFP has suggested (and eat back exercise calories) and see if that helps? This is a lifestyle change and not a'diet' and you certainly shouldn't be *starving yourself…

Nope. Don't get it at all... Now if you were to take my tea away... I would cut you down! :explode:

Personally, I think your activity level is set too low. You are not sedentary - that would mean you sit on your bum for 8 hours a day! You clearly are more active than that so raise your calories up to match your activity - you need to fuel your body! I read on here time and time again, that if you are not eating enough…
-
Then you are not eating enough! You shouldn't eat below your BMR. You should aim for 20% less than your TDEE so 1575. Aim for 1lb a week loss.

This is a really helpful perspective : http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/885648-nsv-the-scale-is-a-lie And do what the other posters have said.... eat more, drink plenty of water and stop worrying about the scale. Just eat well and get fit. x
