  • I try to meet my calories and protein, but everything else I try to stay under. I don't measure sugar anymore because fruit always puts me over the top and I hate to see those red numbers. I replaced it with iron, which I'm woefully lacking and never knew it until now.
  • I would set it to sedentary and then add your daily exercise calories on top of that when you exercise. And then eat those calories, or maybe 75% of them, back. There will be someone along shortly to say that nobody is truly sedentary unless they're in a coma.
  • The sodium that MFP shows is a maximum, not a goal. If you're eating far below that number, it's a good thing.
  • He walked into your bedroom naked and with a boner and you're not sure what he meant by it? Really?
  • Your diary is set to:"friends only". What is your current height/weight? You look thin in your profile photo and your ticker says you want to lose 8 more lbs. That small of an amount at a low beginning weight is going to come off slowly - you might set your calorie goal at 1/2 lb per week so you don't feel deprived.
  • Do you weigh and log all your food? You might open your diary if you want feedback.
  • I don't think there's ever a time when you cook avocados, so it's "raw state" is what you've got. I personally cut mine in half, remove the pit, sprinkle with salt, put several drops of hot sauce in the pit hole, squeeze a bit of lime juice over it and eat with a spoon. Delish!
  • Just a few thoughts and experiences: 1. My brother lived with his girlfriend for about 8 years. As their relationship deteriorated (she was pushing to get married, he wasn't interested) he became involved in online gaming, in this case EverQuest. He played pretty much every moment that he wasn't working, for 2 years.…
  • I've been at it for about 10 weeks now...I'd say I'm pretty good at sticking to it about 80% of the time. My "secrets": 1. I didn't try to do too much at once. I'm just controlling my diet for now. If I tried to also work out (which I haven't done in years), I think it would be expecting too much, too soon and I would…
  • I'm not going to post my before pictures because they're in underwear and just for my own comparison, but here are a couple of "now" pics. Height: 5'7" SW: 220 CW: 203 GW: 140 Age: 47 Body type: Hourglass wannabe It's hard to tell what your shape is in those pics...probably pear?
  • Back when I used to take Tae Kwon Do classes I found that I needed to eat something pretty substantial beforehand or I'd get nauseous and dizzy. Since it was right after work I'd usually stop for a sandwich and eat it in the parking lot before I went in. Not very glamorous I know, but better than passing out in class.
  • Yeah but...I TRIED asking for advice and no one understands that I'M SPECIAL. No one in the history of the world has ever had it as hard as me! I just want people to acknowledge that so I can go back to doing what I've always done and feel completely blameless for my lack of progress. How can you not SEE that I'm the…
  • Italian reds, tawny port.
  • I would call it light active.
  • You're not supposed to do the fast 2 days in a row on the 5:2 plan. But yes, in the beginning on fasting days I got headaches, tired, hangry...but weighing in the next morning made it all better.
  • Oh, I'm a hatchetman alright. Banks hire me for risk assessment. I've been threatened, offered bribes, sweet talked, lied to...but I just keep chopping off heads. "Now I become Death, the destroyer of worlds."
  • Same thing here - I'm taking progress photos after every 10 lbs lost - the first set from 220 to 210 looked exactly the same. 3 more lbs and I'll take the 200 photos and compare. Clothes are a tiny bit looser but I expected a bigger difference at this point..
  • I don't partake in any of those threads, but I think they're harmless until they start spilling out into the entire forum. Like when someone posts a serious question outside of "Chit Chat" and some genius replies with "Would bang". Just keep it where it belongs, people.
  • I have regular Crocs, Crocs leather clogs and Crocs boots! Okay, I wouldn't wear them on dates - but for everything else they're sooo comfy.
  • Compression shorts?
  • I would say moderately active, then log your actual workouts (not the around the house stuff or the coaching, just the running, HIIT, etc.) on top of that.
  • I like to think I've lost 3 of my dog Chi Chi.
  • I like Premier Protein bars because they have 30 grams of protein each. I get them at Costco but if you're not near one you could visit Premier's website to see where else they're sold.
  • As someone who's been on both sides of the weight coin - yes, men IN GENERAL (not every single one of them, just the majority) prefer smaller women when looking for serious relationships. For casual relationships, they're much less discriminating.
  • Out of curiosity - what do you pay for a personal trainer? There's a personal training center close to my house and I've been wondering what it might cost, but they don't list their fees on their website so I'd have to stop in and ask...at which point I assume they'd put the hard sell on me (why else not show fees on the…
  • Interesting. To walk through life believing that, no matter what, one's own appearance is fine and society at large has a problem for not agreeing...seems like a form of denial to me. But it sounds like a cozy place to live and I kind of envy you for getting there. I just don't think I could ever accomplish the mental…
  • Cookies, crackers, chips. Bread, potatoes, rice. Candy. Peanut Butter. Ice cream. Basically anything that tastes so good that I'm liable to eat it all in one sitting or over the course of a day. I can't explain exactly where that line is, but I know it when I see it.
  • Actually, the reason I got a 38 and not a 68 is because I do feel fine about myself, to myself. I don't hate what I see in the mirror. But I also acknowledge the fact that we're a visual society and a heavy premium is placed on body size; particularly women's bodies. Everything from mate selection to career success to…
  • Surprise, I got a 38. I guess the quiz would rather have fat people be in denial about their size and just never think negatively at all about how they look or how others perceive them, even if negative thoughts are right. Sounds healthy.
