  • I tend to be extreme. Hit my original goal and bought myself a new car. The caveat is is I gain any back....my wife gets to drive the new one and I have to drive her older Chevy.

  • 62 YO male, at our age the effort is a little harder, the exercise a little more painful and risky, but the rewards are just as sweet. I won't give up coffee but these days something is screwing with my gallbladder so I have to work on figuring out that trigger. Yes, I eat stuff non-diet friendly but fit it into my daily…
  • Used to be pretty good about it but as the matriarchs of the family expired we have tended to be a lot less kosher except for the high holy days. Would like to see some good options to incorporated into the meal plans
  • a lot of us have gone thru a few up and downs. when life gets rough sometimes we let our guard down a bit on eating habits to allow us the strength needed to tackle the bigger problems facing us. i think i've lost the same 40 lbs 3 times and quit smoking at least 6 times Just make the big effort this time and try to learn…
  • I'll vote for my microwave C'mon , can't believe no one said that one. It cooks things real fast. Also like the air fryer and Keurig , past that there is not much more I really need
  • It's really the perfect time to stop! Think about it...knowing your watching your intake of calories you will avoid eating instead of smoking. If you were not dieting it would be easy to substitute food for smokes. But now, you are accountable to the scale. When I started MFP I quit smoking the same day figured screw it,…
  • 1) check door make sure your not locked in 2) if there's a pool enjoy floating around 3) take up 10 lockers with your clothes 4) make funny announcements on the PA 5) change all the radio stations to polka
  • Playing drums. Believe it or not the fit bit goes ballistic with all the leg and arm movement. 3 hour show burns about 700 calories not counting to the load in and out.
  • You are a true hero and a inspiration to everyone here. Words simply cannot say the amazing message your pictures convey.
  • Just follow along with the rest of us and you will get there. Small goals at a time make the journey achievable.
  • Don't hold off, just get started. You'll be glad you did
  • Agreed, it's a little odd. I dropped over 40 lbs and only went down one pant size. In the past when I dropped this amount it was 2 sizes. Everyone seems to notice the loss, so I'm not complaining it just seems like the one size drop is not enough.
  • Pardon my lousy math...9 stone 7 would be like 131 lbs. far far far from fat.

  • You nailed it.
  • OK , from the little known about you as a new poster I assume from the reference to "stones" your posting from Europe. Transferring stone to pound for us Americans, it seems your at 161 lbs which is not terrible unless your really short. You can easily knock off some weight with this program...but you got to get over this…

  • From a guys point of view...don't sweat it ! You were honest with him about your weight and looks, and he still wants to go out so go for it. Contrary to popular belief a lot of guys are not big a-holes and can be good guys with no huge ego or self Importance issues. Just be yourself, enjoy the date, be truthful with him…
  • I really don't think that it's hard to lose if your older. I am 62 and have fluctuated all my life but every time I set my mind to losing I am successful. The problem seems to be keeping it off....that's where I mess up every time. I always get lazy and go back to big portions. If I would just get on the scale once a week…
  • Pita crust is lower than regular crust
  • ♥️♥️
  • I usually just cook for me and it's no big deal. Like others said, soup reheats well, pasta is easy to store. Personally, I'm a huge fan of frozen dinners. A frozen single of stouffers lasagna and a side off broccoli is under 400 cals. Frozen chicken parm, side of spaghetti and vegetables from Boston market is also under…
  • Yes, worked well for me. Been 6 months so far. Just be sure to take the patch off at night before bed or you will have crazy f..ed up dreams.
  • You will just make yourself crazy. I estimate it 200 calories for 1 cup noodles, 200 for 1/2 cup sauce and 100 for an average meatball. Betcha it's pretty close.
  • Progresso light soup. Entire can is under $2.00 (usually $1.59) and is pretty filling and only 140 -170 calories
  • Hate most all of the healthy stuff...kale, Greek yogurt, chia, almond milk, all of the "special foods" suck. Only things I found I that I consider decent is skinny girl flat bread and chocolate halo top. I'll just eat what I like in reasonable quantities
