Its not hard... just stick to broccoli... a lot of broccoli. Thats your stomach filler + some celery. Fiber doesnt count in the carb total. Its only net carbs.

Let me guess you are a vegetarian?! Stop spewing this garbage on the forum. It confuses newbies. Edit: Written while eating some nice chicken

What is a "heap"?

Yes! Just set a limit on the amount of drinks... so you don't go overboard. I just cut them off my fat cals. Make sure you get all the protein, then fats. For the record: I've been drinking at least 10-15 drinks a week, cutting it down to a reasonable 12. Still lost weight since I started. You just got to have your drunk…

To get any accuate BMR you need to get a water displacement or a DEXA test to get your true LBM. Once you have an accurate LBM then you can calculate and accurate TDEE. I always go conservative in my TDEE. My base rate is 1600 calories if I sat on my *kitten*. Thus I eat only 1600 cals and "run off" an extra 500 cals every…

Well I am still cutting till end of July / mid august... doing allpros so its bit damn hard now on Cycle 3 and stalled due to caloric deficit. But just beast it and cheat a bit in form. Might have to lower bench to 150, cause 155 at 9 reps is painful the 2nd set. Bench - 155 Squat - 240 I dont deadlift Weight- 157

So those of you who have seen my posts (and ticker) know that I eat a lot of food that's not "clean." I go to McDonald's, Taco Bell, Subway, IHOP, etc, many times a week. I have ice cream almost every day. I eat a lot of frozen meals. Yet despite all this, my cholesterol has gone from pretty bad to ideal. Having a total…

Looking at your diary, seems like vast majority of calories is not from fast food nor ice cream. So this whole thing is moot. No **** you can lose weight if only 500 calories come from fast food. Your diet is not even close to dirty. Also your TDEE seems to be higher then average, which allows you to cheat more. Now if you…

Sushi is awesome for carb up day... but besides that I avoid it like the plague. For carb up day, I'll eat 30+ pieces easy. in one sitting -_-
-
Are you measuring everyday right when you get up and after hitting the bathroom. That would usually account for any water weight fluctuations....

It is physically impossible to gain significant muscle mass while on a cutting diet. Unless you are a complete newbie in the gym in witch you can gain a bit of "noob gains". It is good to lift heavy if you are trying to maintain LBM that you already gained through working out.
-
Skip the Tonic, thats an extra 80-100 calories per drink. Do a Rum and Diet. Thats usually all I drink... except carb up friday when I'll treat myself to a mojito. These days I am running a 1000 cal deficit (-500 food -500 exercise) when I know I am going to be out drinking. That way I still am losing 500 calories and…

Sorry to burst the bubble, but body fat is body fat. You get the DEXA scan so you can have a very accurate LBM reading in which you base your macros on. Doesn't matter if its fat around your organs or "visible" fat. When you work out, it will burn both. This is by far the most accurate reading with a margin of error plus…

True, but unless you never lifted in your life (noob gains) you aren't going to increase your lean body mass much. I do a lot of LISS, and yes if your deficit is way too big your metabolism will slow down. Which is why I am big, big believer on the carb up day.

Alcohol merely delays digestion since the liver is busy processing the alcohol. It does not increase fat storage... The main problem is people use inaccurate methods to calculate alcohol calories, and the drunk munchies which destroy your diet (from personal experience).
-
In the perfect world, sure. BUT the main flaw is that your body metabolism adjusts when you cut down your calories. its a huge reason why a lot of dieters fail... cause when they jump back to their normal pre-diet intake, their metabolism is still bogged down from "starvation mode". Thus, why many people have great success…

Well then why the hell do we bother giving advice. Here's the truth: Fruit is godawful on a low-carb diet, especially if you are trying to do Keto. In fact, fructose is one of the worst things you can consume, even on a carb up, since it refills liver glycogen rather then muscle glycogen... you can consume one piece of…

Is it scary that I thought about going to my favorite buffet place and actually bring my scale and weigh my food during the carb up.
-
Skip the last meal to save the calories for drinking... always doing a rum and diet... if lucky sprite zero and vodka.
-
Well losing an inch is around 4-5 lb at your weight, plus you gained some muscle. So not too surprised by this. You were already semi-fit, and now definitely toned!
-
Find your LBM via a DEXA scan. - Cost - $100 Once you have your LBM and the amount of fat, then use your calorie deficit. IE standard 1 lb a week. I am 128 LBM, 29 LB of fat = 157 lb. 29/157 - 28/156 (optimal) = Around 0.5% per week, OPTIMALLY. Again this all depends on your body weight.

+1 for bike, or running on a proper track surface. Alternative would be to do some fast laps via swimming.
-
ALWAYS do a refeed if you are lifting hard to refill muscle glycogen levels... also you want to bump up leptin levels so your body cant adjust. Aka you are tricking your body to not slow down your metabolism.
-
Well, not surprised women are always hating on each other. Btw, unless a girl has great genetics or is just starving herself, she is working out at a rate that makes her look fit. There's no way around it. You don't have to sweat your *kitten* off if you are trying to maintain weight while eating at an appropriate calorie…

Honestly at the end of the day, difference between 90-120g of protein is not going to spike your insulin up to a level where you aren't in keto. I keep my protein at 120-130g a day (128 LBM) to be on the safe side. Don't want muscle loss.

Thank you! I understand where this notion came from the "old days" where men were always the bread winner, but this is 2013. Young women make the same salary as men during their 20's (starting salaries are pretty much equal despite whatever media outlet wants you to believe). A strong woman willing to pay for a date makes…

It should always be 0. No one should be expected to pay. If I don't connect with you, I ain't paying. If we had a good time together, sure I'll get the bill. That's why first date should always be some drinks. Then again, I get girls to buy me shots at the bars occasionally so perhaps I aint the best data point. If the…

Girls wearing sneakers at the bars / clubs. Seems to happen here a lot in Milwaukee. Most big city places wouldn't even let you in.

LISS at around 4.5-5 mph for me works great. Each to his own though. As long as your not sore the next day, you will know your speed limit it is. I personally keep net carbs under 23... some days I am getting 14-16.
