  • Try not to weight yourself every day, just maybe once a week at the same time, or heck pitch the scale completely. Do we really need a scale to tell us we're looking good or that we've got too much flab? Not really, we know that and the scale just tells us a number (unless you're tells you a rough fat percentage and then…
  • Don't worry about the number on a scale, you know you are getting more fit and lean and thats what matters. It sounds like you are kicking butt on L2 already, my arms were not that bad afterwards which makes me think you pushed through way harder than I did during the workout and I just felt intense burn in my arms and…
  • Today is only L2, D4 for me (havent yet done it) so you are not behind. I think there are people at all stages...some started at different times and some take rest days and some do not so we are a bit all over the place....but hearing about people ahead of us helps keep us all motivated!
  • Congrats! That's my plan too, to do Ripped in 30 right after this....maybe if other folks are up for it as well we can just keep this thread going?!
  • Oh I would if I could...but my circuit 3 on level 2 I just don't have any more to give. My arms and shoulders are literally on fire and jelly at the same time! I am sure it will get better though as my body gets stronger.
  • Tell me it gets easier LOL
  • Just finished L2, D3...felt pretty good for first two circuits....made it all the way through them with no breaks about mid way intensity between Anita and Natalie.....and then wham Circuit 3....by that time my arms and shoulders are burning so much there's no way I can make it through....ended up doing about half of each…
  • OMG I am laughing so hard from this: " I look like a rag doll being flung in slow motion . I will conquer you stupid twisty things!" That's exactly how I feel...especially the second set, I'm just praying to get to the skier thingies. The side ab twists I think I would be ok for if I had any strength left in my arms by the…
  • Wait so you're only consuming 1200 calories AND burning an additional 500 from exercise so you're only netting 700 calories a day? You need to eat back those 500 calories from exercise.
  • Put down a couple of beach towels? But honestly, mats are about a tenner, I'd just go invest in one!
  • Just finished Day 2, Level 2 for me and I'm still dying. I'm breathing so hard after doing it....and really struggling to get through...but boy can I tell my body is working! It kinda motivates me to want to get up and do it again tomorrow because now I want to BEAT THE LEVEL! lol Did measurements today as well as is the…
  • I always feel better by the 3rd circuit and it feels easier and I have a surge of energy too!

  • Just finished Level 2, Day 1. It was terrible. I was dying as if I had never worked out before in my life and I had been so proud of the progress I had made with Level 1 and how I was powering through. I just hope that after a week of doing Level 2 I will be even stronger and able to push through it. I made it through the…
  • Wow those are awesome results for just 3 days....keep it up! Very motivating!
  • Hey girl, we are always harder on ourselves than other people. You probably don't look anywhere half as bad as you THINK you do! And you're doing the right thing, you're working out and trying to eat right and get fit....that COUNTS! Jillian will help you and she will do it faster than you think....maybe not as fast as you…
  • Also, my stomach fat appears a lot more "jiggly" and loose especially from the front now...but I've looked this up and chatted with some folks and it seems that thats actually a GOOD sign...as it means the fat is breaking up and becoming less dense so that my body can eventually use it as fuel and say bye bye to it....so…
  • Ok so I just completed Level 1.....here is what I did: Starting Stats: Age:31 SW: 138.5 lbs 10 days of Shred with one rest day. Weights used 1.5 kilos (a little over 3 pounds I think?) The first few days I worked out with Anita...then about half way through switched to Natalie....ouch those squats and lunges all the way to…
  • Finished Day 9 today, cant believe its already Day 10 tomorrow and then on to dreaded Level 2 planks lol I was going to do just another day of Level 1 for Saturday then take my rest day Sunday and move to level 2 on Monday, so its not start level 2 then a day of rest and then pick it back up...BUT I feel like I might have…
  • Try taking rest days so your muscles can build....muscles only build and at rest, not while working them....make sure you're getting plenty of sleep at night and I would suggest bumping up your calories. I eat 1800 a day while doing the Shred. 1200-1400 is probably not enough.
  • Re: rest days. I have read before that even Jillian suggests taking at least one rest day (or two) a week. Plus if you look at Ripped in 30 DVD which she did later but has the same format as the Shred, she specifically mentions it at the beginning of the workout. The first time I did the Shred I didn't take rest days. This…
  • Day three is the worst IMO. I'm on Day 6 and feel so powerful going through the workout and on Day 1 I wanted to die and was so sore on days 2 and 3....hang in there it gets better...and quickly!
  • I am by no means an expert but only 1200 calories a day and an hours workout? I don't think you are getting enough calories to be honest. Try upping your calorie intake at least to 1400 if not to 1600-1700 a day...healthy calories though, not all junk food. Maybe more proteins etc...and a mix of other calories, hey its ok…
  • This will be fine....on Ripped in 30 Jillian specifically says you should do the workouts 5-6 days a week and take 1-2 rest days a week. And the 30 day shred is the same formula (they just don't say it in the video). You need at least one rest day a week for muscle to rebuild and two days will be fine especially if you are…
  • I agree, beyond 30 minutes and I just can't squeeze it into the day....or get motivated to do it. I tell myself I can find 30 minutes at least...just not an hour. BTW, great before and after pics, you look amazing!
  • Good job on starting Jillian. She is tough! The thing about her workouts is yeah the first few days you are incredibly sore---I hate the fact that I have stairs when I start her workouts after time off.....but I find that doing her workout even when sore helps ease the soreness so just try and push through...it helps work…
  • I looked at this website and the calorie measurements here seem much more in line with my actual experience when working out and losing weight and toning up before than MFP's projections which are several hundred calories less a day and often difficult to achieve. I agree that these calorie suggestions are probably much…
  • Like everything else in my life....a day on my period is like just any other day....minus tampon changes.
  • Hi, Good to be here! I only have 10 pounds to lose because I want to get those 10 pounds off before more add on! Here's my stats: Age: 31 Height: 5'6" (it could be 5'5" but my DL says 5'6" so we're sticking with that lol) SW/CW: 138 GW: 128 (although I will be happy if I can just lose a couple of inches of flab from my…
  • While I appreciate the thoughts and info from the weight training fans....heck my niece is one of them....its just not my thing. I know there are plenty of folks who want to weight train, or want that kind of body. I just don't. The only weights I'm ever picking up are the 3lb-ers I am using for Jillian's strength circuits…
