I have definitely cut back but have not given up my diet Pepsi. I am making it a point to drink over 100 oz of water a day, but allow myself 1 Diet Pepsi in the evening

ditto. I am so thankful I don't have that issue anymore.

Welcome to MFP. I have always been up and down in my weight (mostly up), and that is why now i am not looking on this as a diet to be on for a time, but a total new way of life. As a result, I am working hard at eating more healthy, making wise choices and exercising, but keeping in mind that this is for the rest of my…

Does that mean I can officially say I eat like a bird?

One way I can conquer a craving is looking at the calories on the package. The thought of logging it is usually the best deterrent for me. I make it a point to log everything and that keeps me from binging terribly. this same process works at the store in avoiding buying stuff too.

I weigh out 1 oz of either almonds or cashews, and do up baggies with broccoli and baby carrots for an easy grab for a snack.

most of the time you can find out by searching for the brand, what is on it and size. If you make your own go by ingredients you put on it and divide by how many pieces you cut it into.

One of the first things you need to do is learn what healthy eating is. One of the biggest keys is lots of fruits and veggies. Whole grains, lean meats. and lots of water are also key. A good picture would be --visualize a plate. Half of that plate should be veggies/fruit, one quarter whole grains and one quarter meat.…

I started January 4, and am down 56.6 pounds so far. My goal is eating healthy and getting fit. I have a total of 129 pounds to lose and do not look upon this as a diet that will someday end, but as a new lifestyle to be maintained once I reach my goal.
-
It looks like you are meeting your goal. I see that 500 calories have been deducted for breast feeding. If those weren't deducted you would be over 1800

I can't. When I allow myself junk food and stay within my calories I don't lose weight, but if I make wise choices (lots of fruits and veggies and whole grains, my body responds and I lose weight consistently. This is a lifelong change I am making, so to avoid binges, I do allow myself treats here and there, realizing that…

I switch it up and sometimes do the Brownberry Sandwich thins and sometimes do the Ezekiel bread (Ezekiel Bread must be kept in the freezer and pull out slices as needed.)
-
if you do fruits and veggies and not the fruit juices, the fiber will stabilize your sugar levels in your body. It is the sugar in processed food, starches and desserts that are the problem.
-
I would increase fruits and veggies (at least 5 a day) and whole grains. Forgot to look at your water. Drink lots of water (like half your body weight in ounces.

this. mine is not a diet but a new lifestyle

it happens. Don't need to fast to compensate. just get back on track tomorrow

I started January 4 so am not quite six months (5 and a half months along) and I have lost 53.2 pounds mostly through wise food choices, lots of water and exercise. I started out losing fast but it has slowed down over the last couple months to a steady slow loss. I am not looking at it as a diet but a lifestyle change.…

I like them. I was introduced to them by some children I was babysiting once who loved them. Helped my attitude toward them the first time I tried them. If they are fixed right, mmmmm, they are as yummy as broccoli (another veggie I love)

I try to guesstimate how many calories would be in the item I am tasting and put it in as quick add. Sometimes it is amazing how many calories some of our tastes bites and licks have. Don't deny yourself the bites, but make sure they are fitting in your macros. You are only cheating yourself if you don't

The starvation mode that people keep talking about is the way our bodies were designed. I prefer to call it famine mode. If a famine occurs or think countries where people only have a half cup of rice a day to keep them alive, the body will adjust and cut way back on energy burning to try to keep from starving to…

you may know the amount of calories in things, but we lose track of how many calories are stacking up. I log everything--especially my mess ups. It is often painful to do so, but it reminds me how fast my calorie allotment disappears. I consider a green number at the bottom of my calorie intake at the end of each day a…

he probably chose sedentary instead of active for his activity level which is meant for someone in a coma

I think you should allow yourself 1200 calories for the visit, and have one treat.

I kept all my lighter weight clothes, but now it is crop pants instead of coullotts

I like the Healthy Ones lunchmeat

yes, for me I become lethargic

sugar and dairy--fortunately my symptoms are mild so as long as I keep it at a minimum, I am okay
