I agree with @lietchi. 1200 calories is low and hard to hit all macros, unless you are adding on exercise calories. That means pre-planning and pre-logging. You could not worry about macros for now and just try to hit your calorie goal. After a month study your food diary to see where you can make changes.

People in some countries also eat a great deal of carbs and are healthy and thin. I site as an example Italy (where I live). You do not have to go low carb. There must be some other demon to blame.

Well lynn, the profile says "male" so I just assumed, but today you never know unless the OP is forthcoming. If the OP disappears for that reason, well, it takes determination to lose. Also, I was concerned that the OP might be trying to go too low. We need a bit more information. I guess I still don't read my post in a…

Oh--calm down. Weight loss is a process that takes some time and thought. Yes, start now. Get your daily calorie goal, a digital food scale, and start weighing and measuring all food and drink. Losing too fast can aggravate some health issues, especially as we age. Stay within that daily goal everyday. You can be very…
-
I'll give you the same advice I gave on your last thread---cough up your stats.
-
Wow. How tall are you? 149 is a low weight for a male. As for being hurt and depressed over the breakup, that's a natural thing. It takes awhile to get your confidence back. Someone new and wonderful is just around the corner. You'll see.
-
Maybe you should try something different? I'd suggest forming good habits, and not relying on motivation, which you've discovered doesn't last long. Also do one thing at a time. If you've got your daily calorie goal, start weighing and measuring all your food and drink. Get a digital scale. Stay within that goal everyday.…

Have you looked at Sketchers? I have two pairs of their boots and love them--light and comfortable. PS: I have large feet for a woman too--size 10's.

Merry Christmas wherever you are. Stay safe in the storm. Thinking of you. The song is Hall and Oats--"She's Gone"
-
Here, in Italy, the News is talking about the storm hitting North America. We, on the other hand, are expecting high temps for Christmas. The World is a strange place. Stay safe everyone. <3

How much you lose a month can also depend on how much you have to lose. You don't give your stats, so it's hard to say, however, if you have 25 lbs or less to lose, it can take longer. Someone who is obese can sustain a much higher loss, because they have stores of fat to burn. Your loss may be wonderful for your…

Well,---really? That's a no-brainer. I was wondering if that was your vague tie-in. I live in Italy. People here lose and maintain without thinking about it, and my husband is a prime example. Understanding nutrition to a "higher level than the norm" is not necessary, and the pyramid seems pretty straight forward to me.…
-
How? Nothing on the pyramid mentions longevity. Please try and be clear.

Excuse me but I'm confused. What does "the longest lived people on the planet" have to do with the OP? This comment comes way out of left field, unless you'd care to explain its correlation. Sometimes your posts just leave me shaking my head. Could be me though. Maybe I just have difficulty with a higher intellect than…
-
Careful hon---you'll be accused of being "old". :D :D

A 1 kilo loss per week is pretty steep--unless you're obese. Cutting excess sugar out of your diet will help with a calorie deficit. I say this as I decorate my Christmas cookies. I'd suggest that you get your daily calorie goal from MFP and just try to stay within that everyday. Get a digital food scale for accuracy. Good…
-
Do you have any studies to back this up, or is this just personal observation?
-
Sorry, I just read the .5 kilo not .5-1 kilo. :D Yep OP, 1 kilo is too much. Thanks for catching that Ann--old age is knockin' at the door.
-
Sorry about this. The flu is bad this year in Italy. My husband and I both got our flu shots 3 weeks ago--just in time because the grandkids came home with it. My oldest--their father, then got it and was really sick for a week. Then his wife got it and it settled in her ear. It won't go away and she went to the doctor…

When cooking certain things--especially legumes, which I buy dry, soak overnight and then cook, I make a big batch and then put them in containers and then freeze. When I'm really busy (almost always), I can throw together a meal in half an hour. I cook for 4-6 most days. Fresh vegetables need prep--no way around it. So…

Yes, that sounds right. Good luck!
-
Yup--that is the best way.

Aw.... it's hard when you've been so successful and then have a backslide. It's kind of you to admit it and it helps all of us. Gaining the weight back (even a small portion) is something that happens frequently and even an experienced loser will panic. Maintaining has it's own skills and it's no failure if it doesn't go…
-
Don't worry. I, for one, am very happy that you've lost a great deal of weight and your health has improved. It's a major accomplishment and you should be proud and happy. I really think most are pleased for you, and explaining how you did it is not a problem. The wording was a little misleading, and that's why it was…

I agree that motivation is fleeting. It's better to make good habits. As for starting off, something just seems to click and you take off. It's important to get your daily calorie goal and a digital food scale. Start weighing and measuring all food and drink. Try and stay within your goal everyday. Take your measurements…
-
I'd like to congratulate you on your progress. Nice going so far and hope you reach your goals.
-
Some people need support to reach their goals. Others are loners--like me. My husband exercises a lot and he has his favorites and I have mine. Where we overlap we do things together. I do what I do for me. I give my all to my family, but exercise is my time. You will make new friends with the same interests as you go…
-
I, personally, have no problem with IF. If it fits well with your lifestyle, then give it a try. Most weight loss techniques have to be a good fit. I can't do it because I exercise a lot and am older--67. I get light headed if I don't eat regularly, and don't want to faint in the pool (this happened to someone on a…

I'd suggest that the first time you use a new machine ask for help. The people that work there will show you. Or, if you have the money get a PT for a few sessions. That will set you up with a program tailored for you.
