I'm here to tell you that it is a lot harder for women to bulk up, but all of that depends on nutrition (and steroids). If anything, lifting WILL help you get definition, so I encourage it. As long as you are eating clean, drinking plenty of water, and lifting regularly, you will gain the muscle. The more muscle you gain,…

It is if you include Omega 3. It depends on the kind you're getting. If you're getting those Skippy's or JIF's, then yeah, that's not a good source of protein.

Let me start off by saying, that as a personal trainer and health coach, I STRONGLY advise you to never...ever use diet pills again. I do not recommend those. There are so many ways you can lose weight, it's just crazy, but there are some ways that are better than others. Counting calories is a good method, but not always…

Chicken, peanut butter, and Rebuild Strength (I know you don't like powders, but I had to throw that in there anyway). I like chicken for lean meat, and that really helps me lean out more. I always grill my chicken. I like peanut butter because it makes a good snack when consumed with foods like celery or apples. These…

There are so many misconceptions as far as what "healthy" eating is. Some people tend to believe it's all about eating smaller portions, and others think it's eating nothing but organic foods and staying away from any kind of supplements. My thing is find what works for you. If it doesn't work, try something else. Some…

AWESOME!!!! Keep it up!!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and everyone has something they're attracted to.

Here is my advice. I was once a hard-gainer, too, and I had some hard times trying to gain. Believe me when I tell you that exercise is NOT your primary concern here. You need to do three things. Eat, eat, and EAT! When I say eat, I'm telling you that you need to consume more calories than your daily caloric intake. Also,…

Trust me when I say no one wants to be skinny. Skinny is unattractive. If anything, the main goal is to be healthy. You want to be healthy overall, regardless of how much you weigh, as long as you have a normal BMI and normal body fat percentage. Skinny is not only unattractive, it is very unhealthy. So, my answer is no.…

Hi!! You're in the right place, my friend!!

And you still can. NOTHING is impossible! When you have your eye on the prize, it will be hard to get off track. Once you start, and when you do it consistently, the program becomes an addiction, and the healthiest one you will ever have. I would like for you to feel comfortable in a wet suit, and to enjoy snowboarding.…

Dawn, that is excellent that you are sharing this. You are going to inspire many people when you reach your goals. I just want you to know that there is nothing holding you back, not even diabetes. You can do it, and if you would like for me to help you, I most certainly will. I would love for you to write your success…

Courtney, I know exactly how you feel. I'll share a little bit about myself here. I am a personal trainer, a health coach, and an athlete. At the age of 31, I continue to improve my athletic performance, and I feel that I still have yet to reach my peak, even when I thought I did. I feel like I'm about 20, and very able to…

My thing is you can really go either way with proteins. It really depends on what your source of protein is. You don't want to eat too much protein because you will have problems. You want to hover around your protein range. It won't hurt if you go over by a little bit, but, again, you don't want to consume too much. As…

Welcome back! I'll just start by saying that you look fabulous. Also, getting fit shouldn't be a problem. You can do this, and you do have a great support here at MFP. I'll go ahead and add you. You got this! :)

Hi, this is the best advice I can really give you. It is all about consistency, and having the will to do this. If you want to lose 150 lbs. as bad as you want to breath, you will lose 150 with no problem. I will be honest, and I hope I don't scare you or discourage you, but you have one of the most difficult journeys…

My advice to you is to set up a nutrition plan, and set one up with a balanced diet. If you can't set one up, there are people who can do it for you. I set up nutrition plans for my clients for free. I am a personal trainer and health coach, and I have clients all across the nation asking me to help set their plans up.…

Hello Stephanie! There really isn't much advice or tips I can give after reading your post, because you are already doing an awesome job! Congrats on the 5 lbs.! I think the thing I can tell you is to keep it up! You're doing great, so keep going! You have momentum, and it's very important that you stay consistent. If you…

I suggest you drink a lot of water because it will help eliminate toxins. With Easter being one of the bigger cheat days (HELLO), you are bound to eat a lot for dinner, or consume a lot of sugar (or both, more than likely). Most of us are guilty of indulging at least a few times in a while. Don't feel guilty about it. The…

Hello, and welcome back! You have made an incredible step in trying again, and you are a step closer to your goal. You've actually joined the right program by joining MFP. Based on all the posts I'm reading, this is a very good community for accountability and support. We all that, even a personal trainer (myself). I'll be…

Hi, I'm not looking to lose anything, but I can certainly give advice and motivation. I'm a personal trainer and health coach. Anyways, welcome to MFP, and you can add me if you want, and that goes for everyone here! I'm always looking for new friends! We all are here for a reason, and that's to reach a health goal,…

Meal replacement shakes (not protein shakes...there's a difference) are good because they curb your hunger for 2-3 hours, which is highly recommended for the time between meals. Two meal replacement shakes and two protein snacks if you want to lose weight, or one meal replacement shake and two protein snacks if you want to…

Three meals, three snacks. Simple. What he is trying to get you to do is to go two or three hours between meals, which will allow you to curb your hunger and reduce cravings. Ironically, the more you eat, the more weight you can lose, as long as you're eating the right portions and the right foods.

No gym? No problem. One of the best ways to tone is bodyweight exercises. There are 1000s of bodyweight exercises out there. I can name some, and I can show you others because I still don't know the names off the top of my head, but I know so many moves it's ridiculous. Anyways, bodyweight exercises are good because you…

Awesome!! You got through the first step, which is knowing what the problem is and admitting that you need to get yourself back on track. Trust me when I say not very many people do that (or are serious about it). You have a goal to reach, and you should have a plan to get there. You have your motivation factor, which are…

Some more than others. It really depends on what you're eating. If you're eating things like white bread, flour-based foods, or starchy foods, and if you eat more than your fair share of them, you are guaranteed to bulk up, but not the way you want. Carbs absorb into your body, and after a while, with very little to no…

I am so sorry you had to go through that! This is something I totally discourage any of my clients to do, and that is to prejudge others who are simply trying to get in better shape. Everyone is in a gym for a reason (hopefully). You made the right choice in going to the gym. Please do not let those girls bother you. I…

Good question, and very challenging. My thing about this is, like the gentleman said, it's tough to predict that. Everyone is shaped in a unique way. Some guys just have bigger chests than others. Also, my take is to just focus on continuing to lose the weight and burn the fat. That should really be your only concern.…

Thank you for sharing! You can reach this goal, and that is the mindset you should have, no matter what. When do you want to lose it by?

A drug based plan is probably not the best idea because you are risking side effects. Instead, getting on a good nutrition plan with vitamins and supplements is the better (and safer) idea.
