Ha! I had Mexican for lunch yesterday too. Barbacoa tacos. I need to start posting pix.

I haven't eaten yet this morning and my stomach growled when I saw this.

That's how you know they really love you.

I find that alcohol screws with my water weight more than anything. Frankly, I do better having one drink a day than I do if I don't drink and then have two or three one day. As far as what I drink, mostly Jack Daniel's but I'm not adverse to beer, wine or other hard liquor as the occasion calls for it. :D

Wow. My mouth started watering and I could almost smell them. Beautiful.

Bumpity, bump, bump, bump.
-
My favorite way to eat them.

Do what feels right. If it were me, I'd just keep going. It's not like you blew it off for a week.
-
I'm with you. I'm finally at the point where I rely on my runs to keep me settled. Funny how something you used to think of as "hard" becomes something you need.
-
Yum. Don't you just love summer?

All good things start with coffee. :)

One week is not long enough for your body to realize you're making a change and adjust. I think you'll have better luck if you increase 100 calories a day and stay there for at least 3 weeks before bumping again. Track your weight and see what the trend is and then decide if you want to increase your calories again.

Indeed.

This was me, too. I guessed the third from the right, but I was between number 4 and 5.
-
Awesome. I do that too.

Right now, whole chickens seem to be the cheapest meat. I can cook two and have enough meat for a week's worth of meals. Because chicken is such a blank slate, you can do anything with it and it will usually taste good. I like beans, but I can never get them to taste good. I do make an excellent split pea soup, but I need…

My mouth is watering.

Thank you for your help everyone. Now I need to pay attention to what I'm putting in my mouth when I'm migraining and do two things: have lower calorie substitutes for the same tastes and watch portions. Yesterday was a particularly painful day and I managed to end the day just a little over my calorie goal. The day before…

Oh my gosh, that looks so good right now.

^^ This. Especially the second sentence. If you are not counting calories you will not be able to figure a deficit. You said you were going for 1200-1400 a day. I'll bet if you log what you actually eat for three days, you're eating A LOT more than you think. It's a wake up call and a painful one, but if you want to make a…

I'm going to say this and someone will surely crawl up my butt for it but here goes: I have always felt that I'd rather die of a heart attack than cancer. Give me the saturated fat, thanks. For years when I was a kid, we had margarine shoved at us as the healthy alternative and it was cheaper, so my folks bought it. It's…

Yes. Not that I don't eat and drink things I shouldn't, but I'm aware of it now and can go back to regulated eating after a day or a meal where I'm rolling around in food and drink instead of doing that everyday all day.

The best answer to this would be to go to your doctor and get an x-ray. However, if you're like me, I HATE doctors and won't go unless I think I'm really sick, so my suggestion is going to be look up Plantar Fasciitis and see if the symptoms match yours. I suffered with it for 2 years before it finally healed on its own.…

I agree with everyone above. Don't punish yourself by cutting your calories more. That's just a gateway to disordered eating. Go back to your regularly planned calories and move on.

I must like torturing myself because I look through this thread everyday. Your pics make my mouth water. I appreciate your hard work and creativity. Thank you. :)

"Fun" is not the word I would use. However, if you haven't been doing them, lunges can change things. Unilateral movements are good for your balance, too. The other thing I've seen people do is put their shoulders on a bench and sit on the floor with their knees bent and feet flat. They put a weight on their hips and then…

This is a marathon. It might even be an ultra-marathon. It's definitely not a sprint. 15 pounds in three weeks is great, but don't get attached to that. You'll go weeks where it will seem like nothing is changing and the numbers on the scale may actually go up instead of down. This has more to do with hormones and other…

You're just going through what a lot of us went through when we first started counting calories. We don't realize that little slice of cheese is so high in calories. It's ok. You're not doing anything wrong. This is how you learn. So, now that you know what you're up against, you can make lower calorie choices. Cheese is a…

When I'm trying to save money, I buy whole chickens and whole pieces of meat (pork shoulder, beef roast, ham) instead of buying pieces. The more prepared a thing is, the more they can charge you for them. I watch for sales on fruits and veggies and buy frozen when fresh is too expensive because what I want is out of season.

Yay!! It's been a blessing to follow along with you on this trip. Looking forward to watching you succeed this next season.
