  • 5'6" for 114 lb? You don't need to lose weight, especially you do sports a lot. That sounds very healthy to me. What you can do is set your "goal" just maintain your weight, if you like to have that info to show your friend.
  • Thanks for the info
  • The fat in salmon are GOOD fat, EAT it!!! Rolls are packed with rice and big calories in those. Usually easily over 200 for 4 rolls. Sashimi, any sashimi, is your friend. Grilled fish, any fish, is awesome! Yes, watch out soy sauce, most the sauce, go easy on those. Ask for salad dress on the side (a rule you should use…

  • Sorry to hear that you have to go thru that. I've been there, and yes the drinking is the worst thing you can put in your mouth. I forgot if I drink the exactly the same, if not it's similar. To me, the worst is the smell (which smells like those liquid we used to clean toilet bowl, YUK). The only way for me to drink that…
  • Not sure if you will like it. This morning I made a very simple one: 2 oz skim milk (or you can add/subtract to fit the thickness that you'll like) + a banana + strawberries. You can consider add plain greek yogurt to any smoothies you like. Be creative and have fun with it. Or google it online. BTW, I use all fresh fruits…
  • Yes, it's big difference. High fat, high sugar diet won't get you healthy. You won't have energy, and will feel hungry much faster, etc. If you have a chance, go watch "Super Size Me". He's not just got fat over 30 days fat & sugar diet, he's organs are failing too.
  • It does take time to make a habit. Try baby steps: - start logging food as much as you can (it took me at least a couple of weeks to get used to) - aiming for 2-3 workout / activities a week. Don't make a big commitment right away, otherwise you'll feel discouraged if you don't meet your goal. Once you get into the…
  • Just had a nutrition seminar last Friday with this subject. In addition to the daily multivitamin (currently I'm also taking Woman a day), you should also have the following essential vitamin for woman: - Folid Acid (total about 600); prenatal vitamin usually have 1000, so my woman a day has 400, I just need to add either…
  • Watch "Super Size Me", and I hope you'll learn avoid the "M" big time!!! Find any alternative other than fast food, PERIODS! Or pack your own lunch (even a nice easy peanut butter sandwich would be much much worth the effort)!!!!!
  • Absolutely right, well said my friend!

  • Take some time to read this blog to help you understand better how MFP works: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/ladyhawk00/view/mfp-basics-78491
  • Doctor does not necessary know about nutrition, consult a registered dietitian, they are the ones know the subject. If you ever heard your doctor telling you to eat nothing to be healthy, find someone else, because he/she doesn't seem even have basic knowledge about how human body works. So, yes, eat food when you are…
  • Yes, it sucks to be a student, no income. How much can you afford? Can you managed to have family member to help with partial payment? I've seen Amazon has Timex are about $35 but some people find it gave too big of burned. Polar is one of the top brand which is very accurate. It's worth of the investment in my opinion. I…
  • Try use this training method from Jeff Galloway (former American Olympian, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Galloway) http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/5k.html I'm doing a 3.5 miles in May, and I have just about a little over 2 month to do my training too. Good luck to you.
  • My gym trainer does that, using Skinfold Calipers (Callipers). She has a BS degree on nutrition & fitness. My assessment is free as a gym member. She said using Calipers is the most accurate way to measure body fat. I google the subject here is something about measuring body fat:…

  • Seriously? I would checking it out with my doctor if this happen to me. It doesn't sounds right to me at all. My period is just as regular as it can ever get since I started working out (6-7 days a week now), and dieting (healthy way). I'll say, go to see your doctor.
  • For weight training, I love P90X's upper body workout. But the DVD is quite expensive, so I wouldn't say you should go buy it. Try google online to find some weight training workout moves. For P90x's chest & back workout, it just keep doing different type of push-ups then pull-ups; The shoulders & arms focused on bicep,…
  • Not at all! I usually only do 2 of P90x workout (chest/back & shoulder/arms), and anything but P90x in between. You pick just the best out of all the p90x workout in my opinion. Just make sure you are eating right (a balanced diet, I wouldn't suggest you go by their super high protein diet). Have fun with it.
  • It should be fine. I use it for swimming too. Just don't push the watch button while you are under water.
  • I have a FT7, it does keep at least 7 session of workout.
