  • Sounds like he is projecting his misery, laziness and lack of self-respect on to you. Whatever he says or does, don't take it personally and don't let it beat you down. Basically, when someone acts like that...it's like he is drinking poison and hoping someone else gets sick. He is miserable with himself, not you. He is a…
  • Can't modify my original post so today's weigh-in is... 10/1: 113.3
  • I used to love a Big Mac hold the lettuce and fries dipped in BBQ sauce. Mmmm.
  • I'm in... SW: 118 CW: 113 GW: 108 Weigh in Dates: 10/1: 10/6: 10/13: 10/20: 10/27: End of Month (or whatever weigh in days you use) My favorite pumpkin recipe will probably not be good for the challenge but I will probably indulge here & there. One box spice cake mix, one bag Enjoy Life Vegan Chocolate Chips, one 15 oz can…
  • Way to go - you look incredible!
  • You could just hit up the seafood buffets. Then again, all the bacteria in those buffets would get to you before the calories would. Hand sanitizer won't do you any good if you are the only person using it. Ex: person picks up serving utensil and then puts it back in the buffet, sometimes placing it IN the food itself…
  • I went Pesci for a about a year and half. Now I wouldn't be able to because no grains, no gluten, no dairy for me.
  • I do salads in a mason jar and layer them...dressing on bottom, crunchy veggies next (peppers, sugar plum tomatoes, chopped zucchini, yellow squash) heart of palm or artichoke hearts, protein (usually chicken or cut up steak)), hard boiled eggs and lettuce on top. I don't do dairy or grains but if you do you can add…
  • WHHHAAAAATTT??
  • Not deli meats you buy that are prepackaged...deli meats from the counter. Boar's Head, etc. You can also get the low-sodium variety if you have a problem with sodium intake. My other 'version' of deli meat is grass-fed flank steak that I broil at home, then slice up and bring to work :)
  • Well, mine has never been accurate and has had up to a 12 lbs variance which is a HUGE variance for my size now.
  • Pasta and fruit! I used to eat a lot of pasta the night before an event. In the morning before practice, I would eat half an english muffin & a banana and then have a GU or two while practice and then a few during a half marathon.
  • Are you off eggs and meat as well? Because both of those are great sources of protein. I snack on deli meat through out the day. 3 thin slices of roast beef gives me 20g of protein. A 3 oz can of tuna has has 16g of protein.
  • I think sweet potatoes have more fiber, which is always good. I know that orange, yellow & red vegetables tend to have more Vitamin A than other veggies too.
  • I can't really thing of a veggie I don't like. Lately I have been on a sweet potato and squash kick. I usually roast everything, but I do enjoy raw veggies - broccoli, cauliflower, yellow squash, zucchini, sugar plum tomatoes, snap peas.
  • In my case it was dairy and gluten. I had no idea I had sensitivities til I gave them up. I don't bloat anymore, don't get gas, etc.I gave those things up when I started eating Paleo. One day, I mistakenly had a piece of cheese in an omelette and wholly crap - I was bloated and felt like **** within an hour. I never really…
  • I've leaned more towards snacking through out the day because I have access to free food at work...lol. They stock our kitchen with TONS of snacks, mostly junk food but they do buy us fruit, cereals (oatmeal, cheerios, chex, granola), Chobani yogurt, dried fruits, protein bars. I pretty much avoid everything except the…
  • I like Vega protein powder.
  • I found dairy was a lot easier to give up than I thought it would be. I gave up gluten, wheat, dairy, soy & legumes. I use coconut milk in place of milk when I cook. My best advice is to not try to replace dairy with substitutes. What's the point of fake cheese?? I actually love pizza now more than I did before - I just…
  • I usually to try to split it up into 4 hour increments throughout the day so it didn't seem like SO much water. I use a 24 oz. bottle and drink one bottle full between 8am-noon, another between noon-4pm, and another between 4-8pm. It's a little over 9 servings of water.
  • I am not big on protein shakes, but once in a while (maybe 1x a week) I will have a Vega shake to up my protein levels. I also like Quest bars. Other than that, I keep high protein deli meats in the fridge at work and just snack on those - roast beef, ham, salami. I snack sized can of tuna also packs a lot of protein,
  • That's just sick & wrong. I love me some bacon, but I am generally too lazy to make it.
  • Nothing! I am not a big ice cream person, I'd rather have cake or cookies :) Plus, we have one kid allergic to milk so it's just better not to keep it in the house. If we want a cold treat - we have a Menchie's and a Yogurtland within walking distance (scootering distance for the kids) so we do that (and walk off most of…
  • I rarely even log my exercise anymore. I'd rather just eat when I am hungry.
  • Good ole cabbage soup - but not so cabbagey. I just call it Trader Joe's veggie coup and my kids love it. 4 cups beef broth 2 cups shredded cabbage (prepack at Trader Joe's) 1 container Veggie Mirepoix from Trader Joe's (it's about a half cup each of chopped celery, carrots, onion and cabbage) 1 tsp crushed garlic (TJ's) 2…
  • The only 'diet' I have really tried is South Beach Diet. It worked great and I lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks. That was about 10 yrs ago. At the beginning of summer I started eating Paleo and though I have only lost 5 lbs, it's a way of eating that I will hopefully stick with for a lifetime because I feel so much better.
  • My pooch is gone, but not the loose skin. In fact , if I lose too much weight - the skin looks worse :(
  • This sounds delish!!
  • If you look at the food plans, it's actually very balanced (minus the artificial sweeteners and lowfat stuff). Day 1 Breakfast: 1 apple + 3/4 cup lowfat cottage cheese Snack: Celery + 1 tablespoon peanut butter Lunch: 1 apple + 3 ounce can of tuna fish, drained + raw or steamed veggies, all you want Snack: Carrots + 1…
