Wonderful job; you look fantastic!

54 and just trying to stay healthy. Height - 5' 4" SW - 155 lbs CW - 145 lbs GW - 135 lbs Two years ago my son and husband and I went mountain climbing. I struggled horribly. I've been doing some minor body resistance exercises and walking, and tracking all of my food. I lost 15 lbs, but since the holidays I've put back…

She's conflicted; wants to look think and feel good but isn't making the emotional commitment/connection to having to do the work. I have many friends just like that and you can't do anything about it - they have to want it enough to do the work. And believe me, they think they want it, but they aren't "there" yet. I'd be…

Wow; that's sad. I've lost 15 lbs and gained some tone and definition I haven't had in a long while. I was excited about the strength and balance I've gained, but I've noticed that when I see my naked self in the mirror, those new muscles and definition are kind of ugly. I'm hoping that once I get some sun on those arms…

Hmmmm...... I use firefox, so this might be the issue. I've resisted downloading Chrome because I've always used firefox, and we all know that we should never think outside the box :blushing: I'll try Chrome and see if that helps. It may help a LOT of things actually. Thx!

Thx, dshalbert. I just found that we have a fitbit forum right here in mfp so reposted this thread there. I did try their help, but did not see an opportunity to contact fitbit. Will try again - thx!

Did the same thing last year and had a similarly awesome experience. Glad you got on board and are happy with your new shoes.

I typically opt out of both and get extra veg as it lightens the caloric load while still being filling. You get plenty of protein in the meat and fiber in the veg, so don't need the beans and rice.

Do you like to read? I hate exercise, too, but love to read. So I load up my smart phone with audibles (audio books) and ONLY allow myself to hear my stories when I walk. This way I can't wait to get out there and listen to the next hour of my story. I forget that I'm even working hard when I'm into my story.

The stupid telephone music while on "hold" for the NYS Thruway.

Thx for the awesome belly laugh! That's great

I'm the same height as you and started at 155 lbs. Until the holidays I was down 15 lbs (put a couple back on via the cookies!), but I found that 1200 calories was just too low for me. Since I refuse to "diet", I follow a sensible eating plan and try to stay below my TDEE. As it stands, I lose about .5 lb every two weeks…

I'm so very happy for you; you're a testament to those who suffer today in the same condition you pulled yourself out of. I have two very dear friends who are currently in the same shape you were in last year, and I truly hope they see your story. No one can change us - only we can help ourselves out of the messes we make.…

Every one of these posts carry great ideas. One that I might add is that I really don't enjoy exercising. So rather than exercise, I download audio books onto my cell phone, put on my awesome new running shoes, and take myself for a nice 3-mile walk whenever I can with my stories. I try not to let myself listen to the…

Judy Garland. I was a little girl when she died and I always wanted to hear her sing live.

I'm having a hard time relating your avatar picture to a 43% body fat! Not challenging the doc - but that just doesn't compute for me. Anyway, whatever you eat - fats, carbs, etc., is just caloric units. A few years back dieticians told us not to eat fats because each fat calorie contains 9 units of energy, whereas a carb…

You look terrific! Keep up the great work. It's tough to get out there and work out with children, but you've persevered!

Good hair, anro86!

Print them out, tear them out, whatever it takes to get it. Drop it into a box. When it's time to find it again, riffle through that box. Takes a lot less time than creating that database and retyping/scanning them in. And believe it or not, I used to teach data management courses :blushing:

Love it! Congratulations!

It's "wierd", but such an ego-booster!
