That really DID make me laugh out loud!

I think it was an arsey question personally. To each their own. This thread wasn't about sucrose or the difference in chemical composition of processed versus unprocessed .. It was the OP asking how to cut what many of us deem to be everyday processed foods. Perhaps you should start a new thread to continue the debate…

I think you'll find the difference is about 'nutrition'. Why eat something that replicates the goodness we get from nature? We each make a choice about how to gain and maintain optimum health - some do it through chemicals, some do it through their food, some do it through both. Go do your own research (if you're…

i never use a ready-made salad dressing, not ever. Here's a few I 'make' (well, just kind of sprinkle on really, though you can mix them up in a shaker or a jar with a lid on)) 1. a little drizzle of extra virgin olive oil (measured) and a sprinkle of oregano and sea salt flakes 2. same as above with a squeeze of lemon…

i just went into Debenhams to look for a new one .. the sales assistant told me they won't be getting much more swimwear in stock now as they are about to switch to the Autumn-wear range!!! And we've only just got summer!!! So, my advice would be go get one that complements you now in a 14 - they're stretchy, it won't be…

To reply to the Original Posters comment (guys, you've taken this way off the original question!) Inbetween the off-topic replies you've had there are actually some good suggestions. It's true that most foods we have access to these days have had some level of processing. Even so, you can reduce the amount of *processed*…

Depends on your current size and inch measurements! I'm a UK 12/14 at 130lbs (I'm a standard size 12 really) - I went bikini shopping last week and was horrified to find that in some designer brands I couldn't even look good in XXL !! One step at a time - aim for that size 12, its a good achievable goal. Getting down to a…

I found balancing my meals pretty effective. I tend to eat a large meal in the evening but found doing 1200 cals a day much easier by spreading my meals more evenly. So, 200 ish morning, 350 lunch, 450 dinner, the rest made up from snacks (usually Brazil nuts, apricots, fruit or vegetables depending on how I feel). I upped…

These were great, thank you! I made them with spelt flour and topped them with a little olive oil and grated Parmesan tonight as an alternative to garlic bread ... Yummy!

I'm loving doing these home routines :) http://www.nerdfitness.com/workouts/

Keep on walking, do laps around your house without stopping, time yourself and do it until you feel like you've worked out a little. Add climbing the stairs a couple of times and gradually go up and down them more and more times. The wii fit is great and fun for getting you moving even if you just play the games and don't…

It's hard to say from the photo to be honest ... I always think shorts and a bikini top aren't a very flattering combo anyway! And the cut of the bikini bottoms will give you a much different shape to those shorts. You look great, you should definitely wear the full bikini and PROUDLY too! And, as others have said, if you…

my kids have left home (in the main!) and my other half works away a lot and i find it incredibly hard to motivate myself to cook for 1. I am doing really well at the moment though! I like cooking so I'm halving recipes for 4, entering them as a new recipe on MFP to get the correct calories and eating one serving the…

and i live just down the road from you ... Leeds!

i'm 49, 14lb goal loss, been here 6 weeks and am half way there :) I don't do fad diets, I just eat pretty healthily and count every calorie (even in the wine!) I'm re-evaluating my weight loss goal - exercise over the last fortnight has *really* started to improve my figure. My food and exercise diary is open, if you like…

can i ask why you are exclusively pumping? I've never heard of it before, I'm just interested :) you don't need to answer :) I found pumping time consuming and its like doubling up the time to feed baby - all that time to pump then the time it takes for them to take a bottle? I just noticed you've got another one only 22…

yes, that's what people are saying. Eat 1800+700 each day then on the days you do your 45 minute workout you should eat 1800+700+exercise calories. Personally I wouldn't bother adding the exercise calories back on as food - I'd put them down to having a nice normal active day. Breastfeeding is very demanding on your body -…

I've been eating healthily for the last 15 years after I had some food intolerances - I had no choice but to avoid all processed foods! Best thing that ever happened to me! I learnt to cook and its one of my great pleasures in life. Way back in 1999 I had to do exclusion diets for the intolerances and they went totally in…

I do mini chicken breast fillets dipped in fat free yoghurt, then polenta, then a sprinkle of Parmesan. Fry in a little olive oil. 120 calories per mini fillet (about 70g of chicken).

Bump. Still can't find it or anything equivalent in the database - does anyone have any ideas? I'm tempted to class it as aerobics as I jump, bounce, twist, knee raises etc like I'd do on a step I guess .... But bouncing while I'm at it! It's a great (tiring) workout!

I'm never in the mood for breakfast! I just can't face the thought of eating when I get up, never have been able to for some reason! I like to eat a few hours after I get up so I've changed the name in my diary to Morning 7am-12noon and I find I don't stress that I haven't had a 'proper breakfast'. I tend to graze through…

bumping this for later - going to make it with spelt flour

Did the nutritionist actually say restrict to 900 calories? Because I could eat that menu quite happily and make it way more than 900. I'm 5'3 and eating an average 1300 a day and losing weight at a nice pace - my diary is open if you need ideas, I eat pretty well.

I'm a salty savoury snacker too, my diary is open. I've just discovered Kale Chips for that evening graze - easy to make, light as air but strangely quite filling and nutritious too. 200g bag of sliced ready-washed kale. Spread it on a baking tray (or 2 trays for the whole bag) Spray with a couple of sprays of Fry Light…

I can't begin to pretend to say I know where you're starting from as I'm only small and at my max weight of 137lbs your task seems awesome. What I can say though is this, shifting 10lbs seems too much for me some days and it isn't going easily, but y'Know what? on the days I take control and really think about my health…

I breastfed my two. Food is really important because your body needs the extra energy to make the milk (not to mention manage the sleepless nights, strange new routines, all the running about, the worry etc etc!). Both times my weight dropped when they were 6 months and I didn't diet. I've never been truly overweight -…

Well, well, well ... Thank you for your input everyone! Barbaratrollm on page 3 sums up plenty of what I was thinking (perhaps a little enthusiastic so ill reserve judgement til I see results). Thank you to everyone else who contributed sensibly. Yes, I'm eating both my usual extra virgin olive oil and also a tablespoon of…

I breast fed both of my babies - the weight shifted when the babies were around 6 months old. I kept going to 18 months with the first and to 9 months with the second( I was very sad he stopped early!). Don't worry about the weight loss, concentrate on good nutrition to feed your baby and give your body everything it needs…

Hehe! It's morning here now! Enjoy your wine everyone! Taunto, yes, you understood me perfectly thanks. I'm not anti paleo per se, I just don't do strict fad diets and people do tend to get evangelical when they're on one. My foolish inebriated faux pas reflected this view :) I actually bought the virgin coconut oil to put…

Thanks everyone :) I'm having it on toast before exercising today - much as I love the coconut oil on my skin I can't say I'm enjoying eating it, yuk! Olive oil wins on the taste score for sure! I'm going to persevere though, it just seems to have so many good properties.
