  • I have been doing the treadmill, elliptical and stair master but found that I didn't start losing inches until I started weight lifting and also the 30 DS...good luck.
  • I am a bookkeeper so maybe I'm just very detailed...so I do count every single calorie and also add in exercise daily and it really doesn't take a lot of time and it keeps me accountable and also when I am nearing my sodium level or carb level I want to know! I too work out quite a bit but found out that my weight dropped…
  • not 4-6 but 7! I am totally committed and have dropped two sizes and will continue until I reach my goal...I am pushing myself harder and harder and you can add me as a friend if you want:smile:
  • live in Illinois but was born in Hawaii and wish I was there right now:smile:
  • You definitely look healthier and fit:smile: And you are an inspiration to keep going and don't give up!
  • that is a great idea to stay on level one until you feel you are ready for 2...I am on my 3rd of level 2 and it is harder...lots of exercise starting with plank position but it is definitely a great workout...had to stop the tape several times on day 1 and 2 but now I got it! Good luck to you!
  • And to Charlie - thanks for starting this thread and giving encouragement to myself and others:smile:
  • Happy Thursday everyone! I have started level 2 of the 30 DS and it's a bit more intense...the exercises mostly start with the plank and I am feeling it in my abs and legs but I love it! I also workout at a local gym but this DVD is having me build up my cardio and I didn't ever think I could do so many jumping jacks but I…
  • Dear Joe, Do not give up on yourself! I know with my own weight loss I started feeling more confident and in a much better mood. It does take time and I would be lying if I told you otherwise but there are others on this message board that at least at sometime have felt like you. I have found that when I feel like quitting…
  • Sometimes when you are not feeling motivated it does help to have the support of others and also others that can relate to how you are feeling or dealing with...my bf is great as far as being supportive but since he has no weight problem he really can't relate to what I'm going through so I decided to reach out to others…
  • I find that the more MFP friends I have the better. I haven't used fitbit yet but I have been not only tracking my food but water intake which I'm finding out is so important! I also started Jillian Michaels 30 DS and will be off level 1 and onto level 2 tomorrow along with working out at the gym. I have been able to stay…
  • Good afternoon everyone! I hope everyone's weekend was a great one:smile: I didn't work out this morning like I usually do because I honestly didn't get to bed until about 3am and wanted to get at least an hour of sleep lol. I enjoy having the evening to either work out again at the gym or sometimes just spend time with my…
  • haha love this response my ex husband was ten years younger my bf is 20 years younger and I'm actually in better shape than in my twenties...having fun, living life and enjoying everything it has to offer:happy: btw if you got it flaunt it!
  • I totally agree...I actually work out in the morning just to get myself going for the day and once I'm out of work I can't wait to get to the gym and work out all my frustrations:smile: definitely a major stress reliever!
  • Oh meant to say happy Friday to all on this thread and even though it is afternoon I've been up since 4am! It's great to know that there are other early risers up with me...it's starting to get darker outside when I leave for the gym. My gym opens at 5:30am which is great and there are only a handful of people there at the…
  • Good afternoon Charlie - This is a great thread and you mentioned that you do the P90X Insanity so the 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels should be a cinch! I am on my 7th day mainly to get in some abs work and also more cardio...if I get through level 3 I will move on to something more challenging...my weight keeps going…
  • If you don't mind I am going to print this and put this on my desk at work and home because it makes so much sense but sometimes a person needs to be reminded from time to time that "moderation is a basic life skill"... I definitely don't want to live on a strict diet where I am miserable but I also don't want to eat in…
  • Well it's still warm during the day but I do workout in the early mornings and it's starting to get cooler so I will warm up the car beforehand and wear a long sleeve sweatshirt over my tank top and then take it off as I workout on the treadmill or weights because I tend to warm up pretty fast and then do not need the…
  • Hello, I work out 7 days a week and usually twice a day....it is a time for me to be alone in my thoughts and I don't consider it a chore but a real stress reliever:) If I miss a day which I rarely do I truly miss it!
  • You should be so proud of yourself and I could always use another MFP...I am adding you now!
  • Hello, I am 53 years old and started several years ago. I started with free weights and went online to view how to do certain exercises with free weights properly and it's never too late to start...I am in better shape than in my 20's and feel much stronger and look healthier. I still have weight to lose but I feel I am…
  • Well if you can fit it in your schedule in the morning you could try it out...you say it gets dark in the evenings so I would just make sure to be safe and well lit if you continue to cycle at night...I workout in the morning and evening sometimes both sometimes when I can fit it in...take care and have fun.
  • I am on day 4 of level one of 30DS...before I started doing this dvd I thought I would find level 1 easy because I was working out daily on high incline on the treadmill and also the stair master and elliptical but though I've been losing weight I wasn't doing enough cardio or weights and struggle with the jumping jacks…
  • Don't give up and I will be more than happy to give you support and encouragement along your journey if you want to add me as a friend. Weekends has been hard for me until last weekend when I went out with my sister and this time checked out the menu beforehand to see what healthy choices I could make and my food ended up…
  • Good morning Charlie, I get up at 4:30 everyday but do not get to the gym until about 6am due to having 3 teenaged daughters who still use me as an alarm clock lol....but I am religious about working out and go to the gym then back home to shower and then off to work...I also work out most nights after dinner and as of…
  • I forget sometimes that there might be others that have the opposite problem or issue than me which is being too thin. I think it's great that you have been able to add definition and I think though it may feel weird at first for you (and very understandable) that you will get used to the added weight because it will not…
  • Good morning, I don't know if you would consider it a daily thing but I am a court advocate volunteer for children that are abused/neglected and in this system and I visit them on a regular basis and attend court on their behalf...I hope that I can help make a major change in their life They are the innocent victims and…
