  • I wouldn't trust it. Every employee packs it differently and sometimes you get the last bit with all the extra sauce and that could bring it up. I usually take mine home, add it to a plate and weigh it. If I get the 2 entree meal with a side (rice or noodles), I usually fit half of it into my dinner cals (around 600-700)…
  • Okay a bit late (because I always forget I'm in groups!) but: Height: 5ft 6in CW: 144 October Goal Weight: 140 UGW: 120 October will be weird for me since hubs will be leaving in a few weeks so 4lbs in a month is a bit lofty but definitely worth a shot!
  • Glad it's not just me then  But now I kind of want it...
  • I pretty much love all vegetables. I really really love them roasted- root veggies and brussel sprouts especially. Recently, I found that roasting radishes makes them taste a lot like brussel sprouts (takes away some of the kick- which I love when they're fresh) but they're really good too. Radishes, brussel sprouts, maybe…
  • First of all, good on you for coming here and asking for help. Even if just one or two tips help you out, that's one or two more than you had before :D It's hard to put your health first when life is chaotic and busy and convenience is so easy. I don't know how much help I'll be but here's what I've got: 1. Do people find…
  • Nope, I always make sure there is room for dessert in my cals. I'm not really a cookie person though- or cake for that matter- so it's easier to turn down than say a carmelita or a lemon brownie or Nutella rice krispies.
  • Soups! We're big on soups around here and I always throw in extra veggies and protein and serve it with salad and homemade bread/bread bowls (for individual servings). Stuffed green pepper soup is delicious, as is chicken soup, chicken and dumplings, hamburger/veg soup, butternut squash with turkey sausage... tonight we…
  • Sorry, I didn't add the healthy alternatives. I usually go for the real thing and just have a smaller amount or make it fit my cals. But these are some I like: - coconut greek yogurt with a little PB stirred in (it tastes like Reese's kind of and you could add some shaved chocolate it you want!) - plain greek yogurt with…
  • I've found that cookie dough tastes richer to me so I eat less (I make eggless cookie dough). I take a spoonful and it takes a little while to eat so I'm usually satisfied by then. Like Sara said, give away the extras! I always bring the decadent stuff to potlucks to pawn them off ;)
  • Hmm not sure how weird it is but my hubs thinks it's gross: spaghetti mixed with sauteed spinach and fresh parmesean and topped with a couple over easy eggs.
  • My current fav is: - 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 oz sliced turkey, a mini wheat bagel with light cream cheese, and fruit (usually prunes or some kind of berry) OR - coconut greek yogurt with PB stirred in (I thought it would be gross but it's actually really good), I may or may not add fruit to it depending on my mood
  • People who reach over my food- bonus points if it's an elderly person because all I can imagine is dead skin flakes :( And yes, I know they can't help it but this is my pp soooo... Also, people who bring their dogs EVERYWHERE. I'm not talking about the park or petsmart, but the ones I've seen in Walmart/Target, at my kids'…
  • I feel you OP. It sucks and you definitely need to vent sometimes, especially if you can talk to people who have btdt! I'm careful of my food balance because of severe, crippling migraines- too much or too little of sodium, water, alcohol, certain processed foods, sugar and on and on and I'm out for a few days. It's not my…
  • Great work!! Awesome :)
  • Since it's been just under a month, have you considered that some of the 1lb 'regain' (which really isn't much in the scheme of things) is due to TOM? You might have lost a bit last month coming off TOM and now you're just bloating a little and will lose in another week or so. I agree with making sure you measure…
  • I'm pretty sure I'm 33... old age catching up to me and all ;) I love running but I do try to balance it with strength training. It's hard for me to stay motivated in that area since I mainly have to use the handweights (up to 25lb dumbbells) and bands that I already have at home. I tend to workout by myself and it's kind…
  • I'd actually like to see more of those kind of contests- it seems like it would be healthier in the long run but maybe less glamorous. I think you're right- overall, I don't think it would be motivating for me and the other reasons would just frustrate me after a bit. I do like the idea of the competition being a motivator…
  • Nope, I don't know anyone in it (that I'm aware of anyway). And yeah, I agree with the slow and steady and it not being worth it. I guess I was just worried that I'd be passing up a chance for extra motivation- but I really think it would just be more stressful than anything else in the long run. Plus, I just saw that it…
  • Having a little bit of the real stuff is way better than being unsatisfied with a meh substitute. I keep room for a little bit of sweets almost every day. That said, I did cut it out altogether for a couple weeks (about a year ago) to reset because I was going nuts with it and not really enjoying it or tasting it.
  • You guys listed most of my go-to dressings but I recently tried Skinnygirl raspberry vinaigrette and it was SO BLAND. Yeah, it has barely any cals but barely any flavor either.
  • I like pickles or cottage cheese (with celery to dip in it) for sandwich lunches. I also like chips so I get the Doritos Salsa Verde because they have tons of flavor and one weighed out portion does the trick :)
  • I think she means if the OP was to go to bed so early she'd end up waking up earlier, be hungry earlier, etc. OP, I think you should be fine to go to bed early one night- in fact, if you're like most people, your body could use a few extra hours of sleep and you won't wake up crazy early. If you're truly not tired, don't…
  • I do, very badly. I've lost vision, blacked out, had all the fun sensitivity issues, you name it :/ I've been dealing with them since I was 2 so I've been on a lot of meds, most of which do nothing, some that actually made things worse for me. Some of my big triggers are: the weather (not fun in OK!), too much/too little…
  • Malt-o-meal has good iron but not much protein. You could add some PB or an egg to it to round it out. I'm iron deficient (among other things) and I try to get in malt-o-meal a few days a week in addition to my scripts.
  • Haha agreed. My account is for logging my food mainly but I always wonder if I'm being 'supportive enough' though because I don't like/comment on every little thing- especially completing your diary under goal when someone logs 2000 cals of exercise gardening for an hour... Plus I just don't have time for that! Maybe I…
  • ^this. I always try to put in the ingredients used rather than someone else's entry because you never know.
  • I had a friend try it and she did lose weight... while she was on it. She gained it all back, plus some. I tried a sip once and ugh, it reminded me of cold snot (sorry!). Aren't they around 200 cals each? I'd rather eat 200 cals (more preferably) worth of food and log it than that stuff.
  • I love leftover bbq chicken in salad so I bet it would be good with a veggie loaded sandwich too! I also really like putting fresh bell peppers on my sandwiches- nice and crunchy and so good with spicy mustard.
  • I've had the oatmeal and it's not bad in a pinch but it seems really sweet to me and I'd rather just make my own for what you get. Sometimes though, you do what you have to do.
  • When I train for a race, I go maintenance otherwise I'm crazy hungry all the time.... I mean, sometimes I am anyway but that's different haha. At some point you have to decide if the deficit is worth the lack of fuel. I almost always maintain weight during training, even though I'm running a lot, I need the fuel too.
