I use "no thank you, I don't eat that" quite often. My "diet" isn't restrictive by any means, I eat anything and everything I want, I just don't crave much processed/ "unhealthy" food because I know how I feel after eating it (like crap). I know I, personally, get a ton of crap from friends and family, but if you stick to…

First of all, I'm not a parent, and obviously have no experience teaching children of my own about health and nutrition. On the other hand, I was raised by parents who were very active and health conscious. My sister and I were taught what foods were healthy and what foods weren't from a young age and we did not eat…

I'm only 5'7'' but love wearing heels... like, six inch heels. This means I'm about four inches taller than my boyfriend. While he's not thrilled about it, he deals with it.

I'm in decent shape and spend quite a bit of time at my campus's gym, and I'm still self conscious being there sometimes. It helps to keep in mind that nearly every girl (and some of the guys) in there are.

Some gyms won't allow you to (mine claims its dangerous- you could drop a weight on your toe. I'm thinking it would hurt shoes or no shoes). But depending on the type of shoes your wearing, the lift and angle of the footbed could be throwing off your form just a little. In this case it would help. I know plenty of people…

I haven't been around MFP long, but I'm not new to health and fitness. I'm taking my personal training certification soon, and starting grad school this year in a health care field. Always glad to share what I know and be motivated by everyone else here :)

Good for you for dropping that trainer! A woman will not get bulky lifting heavy. I second everyone else. Lifting. Personal trainers are great when your starting out to teach proper form, order, and other techniques. If you put in the extra effort, you can learn a lot of this online and ask the staff at the gym to help…

Try researching "reverse dieting". Its often used for fitness competitors to up their calorie intake after shows (where they were on very low calorie diets) generally its increasing your macro #s by a certain amount each week so your body has a chance to get used to eating more.

If your looking for very basic meal plans check out bodybuilding.com They will tell you the times, amounts, and foods but keep in mind they tend to be pretty "boring" foods.

Ok, seems like the general consensus here is no. Well, I'm going to say it depends. "Clean Eating" is tough because there really isn't a set definition of what it consists of. Some people say no processed food, some take it to mean all organic, etc. Clean eating can help you lose weight, if done a certain way, and not on…
