  • I love this site too! Since I joined in June I've lost 15lbs. and really it has been mostly just logging in my food and exercise. I've been on diets and always gained back the weight but now I'm making better food choices (most of the time). I also exercise even when I don't really want to since I will be logging it in.…
  • So sorry to hear of your troubles, hang in there! Keep eating right and taking care of your health, its important. If you don't have friends or family that can help check with the closest social service department, if you don't qualify for state aid there are many churches that have shelters or can sometimes give financial…
  • Used to love to run, can't anymore no cartilage left in my knees, have to do low impact so now I'm on the elliptical but I don't enjoy it as much and have to push myself. My husband does not sabotage me but he still snacks in front of me, etc. and he has some back problems so I am on my own for exercise too. Just before my…
  • terrific! to those clothes I tried on last week and are still a little too snug I'll be wearing you soon!
  • You have already made the first step and looked your problem in the eye; and yes one day at a time. I've had a rough couple of years too losing my baby sister and other tragedies. But I know I need to take back control of my life, health and fitness. I've been on almost every day the last month so please feel free to add…
  • Just started a month ago and can use more friends to keep me motivated, so far so good but I know I have to keep vigilent. Made my first goal to be under 160lbs before my birthday but I've got 30 more before I am really fit and healthy. Feel free to add me as a friend, can use all the help I can get and I've been logging…
  • I too have bad knees, in fact I had arthroscopic surgery on one and next would have to have a total knee replacement. At 52 years old I'm trying to put that off as long as possible. Just joined MFP in June so I'm pretty new too. I do as much walking as possible but I have an elliptical machine that I love and can also use…
  • Yeah I have a love hate relationship with my scale too!
  • So far an average newborn, hopefully on my way to a mid size microwave!
  • Terrific!
  • You can do it hang in there!
  • watching tv with my husband, wanting to have a snack but don't want to sabotage my weight loss and if I eat anything I'll go over my calorie count. Guess I'll drink more water. Thank you all for being here.
  • Wow a lot of posts! Here is my two cents just since I have been on MFP have I held my self accountable. If I want the ice cream I have to exercise the calories off after I eat it. That will keep me from doing it since I am usually tired by the time I would eat the ice cream. The skinny cow option sounds great to me, make…
  • Ok, Ok on my way to the elliptical right now. Just realized that I joined MFP mid June and haven't added any friends yet. Anyone interested? Julie, Calif.
  • Joined near the end of June, no friends yet. I'm on almost everyday the accountability really keeps me on track; keeps me careful what I eat and doing the exercise I should. I'd love to add some friends too. Down 5 lbs and want to keep going.
  • Yes accountability rules, sometimes that is all that gets me moving and makes me think twice about what or how much I eat! Thank you all for being here and sharing your struggles and lives.
  • Welcome Newbies, I just found this group a few weeks ago and its terrific, very movitating. It has really helped me to see others goals and to be accountable when posting mine. July goals: continue to exercise at least 20 minutes 5x week try to keep calorie intake close to 1200 calories weight goal 159 by the end of the…
  • Love reading all the posts, don't know how everyone keeps up. You sure are motivating. I had an attack of the munchies today but kept it at a few healthy snacks and made myself exercise the extra calories back off. Have a wonderful and safe 4th! Julie, CA
  • Been focusing on a July challenge and lost track of this thread! Glad to be back. Goals for July: Lose 8 lbs. keep increasing until at least 10,00 steps. Try to keep calories around 1200 and exercise at least 20-30 minutes 5 days a week. Off to a good start, hope to keep it up, have lost 4 pounds since 6/29 hope to be…
  • In answer to your question Meg I'm in California about an hour from Yosemite, it usually doesn't get quite this hot until closer to August. Wishing for the 80's so I can walk to the post office. Julie
  • Good Morning Everyone, I don't know how so many of you keep up with all the posts! Granmallie-Happy Birthday! Sorry for the problems that you are going through. Jan so sorry you can not use your elliptical, since my knee surgery I use it a lot but my husband has a fused ankle and can't use it. Would love to be outside…
  • Michelle thanks for the encouragement. I was in So. California visiting my parents and stepchildren. Got to go deep fishing and had a lot of fun. Back to exercising and making better food choices hopefully will have the pounds off soon.
  • Would love to join. Getting a little older and have been out of shape for awhile, time to get fit so I can stay healthy.
  • Hello new to the site, looking to get fit and healthy. Had knee surgery last November and it really is time to get on with it. Just got back from vacation and unfortunately gained 4 pounds. Time to eat better and get on the elliptical. Wanted to walk to the post office from work but just couldn't in the 90+ temp. Hope…
