If you don't eat enough your body very quickly tries to horde everything you eat, I have an aunite who eats one meal a day fairly reasonable size, she cannot eat lots of dairy due to a colon issue but she is also morbidly obese. there is a detailed bit on mfp about someone eating 700 cals a day, I'll see if i can find it…

if you have always eaten under your calories your body will not be used to it, rather than make your self sick why not try to increase your calories slowly. perhaps for one week aim for 550-600 minimum every day and then increase it the week after to 600-700 etc. it will take your body time to adjust to more food and you…

For us in the UK our summer is just starting assuming it ever gets here, weather can be very changable, but you try as much as possible to carry on regardless. I have four weeks of holiday play scheme for my eldest and then her sister breaks from nursery (day care) then they get to go and stay with grandad for a week…

doesn't bode well as its my TOM as well so.. I wondered why I hadn't lost any this week after I had a good week last week.

When did anyone first notice, not really sure I think it was around 20lb ish for me but I am only 5ft 4. My boss at work did notice and we've talked a bit as he keeps himself fit by running a few times a week. Hubby has always been suportive, if anything he is slightly frustrated as he has some injuiries which have…

congratulations - wishing you a happy & safe nine months! I also have PCOS but it took 10.5 years to have our first child and then dd2 came along as a little surprise 14 months later. You must be on cloud nine!

have I faced prejudice? Yes much more when I was younger, I eat little an often always have and I had a manager who was serverly obese used to make comments on my eating habits and weight. I almost got to the point of filing a harassment, but fortunatly my head of department stepped in and dragged him over the coals and…

Congrats bikermum82 - and well done fellwo pinks. I am hoping for no more family crises to get in my way this week, I have had both parents in hospital over the weekend (100 miles apart as they are divorced!) So not a great finish for me but here's hoping for a better week. Good luck fellow diamonds

hit a major plateu just before I broke into onderland - hovering just above it for ages. I tried changing my exercise plans, then I changed my goals to loose just 0.5lb a week for two weeks and then upped it back to loose 2lb a week ( i have over 40lbs to loose so can afford to set it that high) seems to have worked

I don't have anyone in particular that I look to for motivation, my hubby is quite supportive, just wish he will join me as he has weight to loose as well. He does support me, he isn't negative or anything but he still will make some excuses although he also excepts he eats too much. I'll keep plodding on and hopefully he…

Today's question is a difficult one for me as I have yet to set a goal weight, I am currently aiming for 145lb as this is the top end of my range to keep my bmi in healthy. But I also don't want to be right on the border so a 1lb gain would put me overweight. So i think perhaps knowing that my overhang is not as big as my…

Thank you I have short legs so I have always needed to walk quite fast to keep up with everyone else and because of having a very large bust running usually makes me the epicentre of an earthquake!

Name: Toni Height: 5'4 Reason for joining the Diamond Challenge: I need a little extra support and someone to help me focus. I have lost 37lb so far since christmas, but I have lost my way a little. I have family support but with work and two small children it has been difficult. I have signed up to do a 13.1 mile (21K)…

My eldest daughter's eating habits have led to me changing some of what we do at home. she was breast fed and baby led weaning, she eats pretty much anything, since starting nursery she has started the i don't like this. she is very small for her age so she does need 5 meals a day otherwise she very quickly slips into the…

you can just walk I am not interested in running as I have always walked fast, and I suspect I can walk faster than I could ever run. I have signed up to do a 13.1 mile (about 21K) in october, and this is a night walk, running is not allowed. I am aiming to complete it in 3hours - I would love to do it in less than that,…

well done, and yes I've done it, whilst carrying my sleeping dd2 (age 2.5) in from the car - I couldn't stop them falling down without risking dropping her, fortunatly I manged to get inside the front door and our overgrown hedge hid the rest!

welcome, it is a "onderful feeling"

Hi Everyone, I suffer from insulin restance brought on by PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) this makes it very easy to pile on the weight as your body doesn't use the insulin it produces very well and will convert stuff to fat very quickly. I started loosing weight after christmas, I had for many years been the same weight…

I use my tracks app with gps on my phone, and its set to mph. I have little legs so have always had to walk fast to keep up with my parents and now my hubby (he's almost 6ft!) the max speed was I think because one section I was walking was downhill, but a lot of it was up hill too!

Hi, I am in the uk, your welcome to veiw my diary, it's been a little erratic due to family life just recently but just look past last week or so. it should improve ( like last nights dinner out for father in law's 70th limited choice as it was a set menu) Good luck on your journey

I've been on metformin for about 6 months, and I do think it has helped, it can cause some unpleasant side effects for some, I did struggle with it to start with, but since improving my diet in general I have found it much easier to take. I have two children, first concieved after 10 years of trying (they kept saying I…

I have the wii -fit and board and hubby bought me the wii fit plus game, I lost my first 14lb just using that in the evenings as I was home alone with two children, so couldn't go out even if I wanted to. it all helps.

I am still eating a lot of fast food, but partly because my mum is sick, so I have to drop my plans and deal with her problems, and although I would wait until later, the kids can't and I know it doesn't work for me eating at 10pm or later. So you have to adapt to your lifestyle and its limitations. I know it will take…

I am trying to get to them, I have broken into the 199's but I can't seem to shift beyond that, there is a lot going on with home life and work so I know my changes are not in the front of my mind ( like i have had to buy lunch for last three days, as I couldn't get to my other work place to eat the healthy lunch that was…

Sorry but you can't let them dictate your food options in your house, even if they are not your children. I assume you don't have any really unhealthy snacks in the house, so they should remember your house your rules so they sit down to dinner with you and partner and eat what they are given, if they won't even try it,…

your body needs a mimimum number of calories to keep you alive & breathing - this is called your BMR = Basal Metabolic Rate so if you stayed in bed and didn't move all day your body would still burn this number of calories. So I am 5ft 4 and weigh about 199 - so my BMR = 1635 the number of calories you need is based on…

on the uk website they have a huge pdf file for food and drinks, I like it as I have learn't a few "choices" that are better than most so when I meet with friends in London, I know I don't have to go over my cals by mistake. I drink decaf skinny latte without sugar which isn't too bad, but I got caught out with the fruit…

the only thing I use it for is a little boost that it is staying under 200lb all the time now! although I have gone under 200lb, if I have drunk a lot of water or eaten etc by the evening it has crept back over the 200 looking forward to when it's gone for good!
