  • Destin, FL area for me(Fl panhandle)...actually, 25 miles north of Destin, and 50-60 miles NW of Panama City, but nobody would know my little city, so I just say Destin area...lol
  • Delicious! You will love them. Another great way, is to just 1/4 the pineapple length-wise, leaving the peel and crown on as a handle. Cut the hard center core off each 1/4. Brush orange juice and brown sugar on as a glaze, grill on high just long enough to carmelize the sugars on each side, serve warm.
  • Ok, being an avid bike commuter before I switched jobs, I can tell you that first; check state laws for bicyclists. Most states require you and autos to follow the same road and traffic laws. This is good for you. Go to a local bike shop. They have many entry level, inexpensive bikes designed just for that purpose that…
  • 2 whole eggs, scrambled, with 1/4cup shredded cheese, some chopped spinach, onions, and mushrooms. It'll be around 280 cals, with a good bit of fiber and protein to keep you feeling full until lunch. Another option is 1 serving of oatmeal, with 1/2 cup of blueberries, and an 8 oz glass of skim milk; 280 cals, again with…
  • Sugar free. The body needs the little bits of fat more so than it needs the processed sugars. The main major change I've made to my dietary habits is reducing non-fructose sugars (i.e. non-fruit/veggie sugars) and I've lost over 35 lbs in just over 2 months.
  • oops..misread...delete
  • Just checked out the site, and it looks promising. Thanks for the tip.
  • Have you looked into an extended-stay hotel at any of your locations? Many of these are like mini apartments, i.e. kitchenettes with cooking areas and pantries/cupboards. Most times, they are just a few extra dollars a day to stay. The savings on meals could make up that difference if you don't have to buy as much…
  • Breakfast should come in under $1.00/day. Oatmeal is about 8-12 cents serving, and if you add fruit, it's still under $1.00. Lunch can be a pb&j sandwich and some veggies (carrots, celery, small salad) and still come under $2.00. So, even if dinners average $3.00/serving, that's still under $200/month.
  • Blue Bunny Banana pops. 35 calories per bar. Sugar free jello cups, only 10 calories per cup Lemon tea with a tsp of honey, about 60 calories I use these when my limit is close, and I'm not about to binge.
  • I made shepherds pie with sweet potatoes once...used complimentary spices for sweet potatoes, but it was excellent.
  • A brisk pace for 30 mins is about 1.5 miles
  • Baked potatoes, with the skin. You'd be amazed how much fiber is in the potato skin. And yes, they are tasty. Just rub a small amount of oil and sea/kosher salt on them before you put them in the oven.

  • Great job! /catcall whistle at the nice new figure. You look great, and will get the fellas looking.
  • Chromium is a recommended trace mineral for men's health. Can't remember where I read hat, but it was from a fairly reputable source. If you look at most multi's for men, they include chromium, I think chromium picolinate.
  • Goggle "crazy cake" and check out all the egg-less recipes. My mom used to make these all the time because my sister is allergic to eggs.
  • Checking out your diary, it seems some of the foods you are listing have high numbers for their calorie counts. A slice of Italian bread at 260 cals? Most bread is around 100-120 cals per slice, some less. Oatmeal at 600+ cals? These numbers don't seem right, and might be part of the problem with you feeling hungry. Also,…
  • Holy smokes! Yesterday I binged like crazy. Couldn't get full on anything, no matter what I ate. Ended up eating 1/2 box of GS cookies, too many wheat thins, and a candy bar, as well as my normal high fiber/high protein daily diet. Felt good though. After losing 33 pounds in 3 months, I didn't even feel bad about it. Back…
  • A typical serving size is one cup cooked. Use measuring cup to put a serving on your plate and see how much it really is. The squash I buy, I usually get anywhere from 4-6 cups of flesh after cooked. What I'll o after it's on the plate i put some pasta sauce over it, or sometimes a little butter and brown sugar. It's…
  • No, smoking is not a method of cooking. It is a method of flavoring and preserving. Unless the food was hot smoked, assume it is not "ready to eat". Cold smoking does not prepare it for human consumption without being cooked by you. Most ham, bacon, and sausage is cold smoked, and need further cooking.
  • Agreed, but make sure you tip extra for this. Making the kitchen and wait staff work harder is not going to win favors if you don't reward them for it. Unless you give them incentive, your health is worth spit to them...
  • My meals for today are already logged, and I got 29g of fiber. No supplements, just smart eating: Breakfast Fiber Spinach - Raw, 1 cup 1 Baby Bella Mushrooms , 1/4 cup 1 Pace - Original Picante Salsa - 1 (breakfast was a 3 egg omelet with these adds) Lunch Banana - Medium 7 - 8" (115g), 3 Natural Low Sodium Peanut Butter 2…
  • Log on to MFP everyday. Seriously. The visual journal, and the android app make it easy, and "in-your-face" for me. It has become my ritual to help me stay on track to lose.
  • Click on "My Topics" and any thread you have posted to will be in there. Doesn't matter if you are the OP or a reply. If you posted, it'll be there.
  • Get a thing of fresh broccoli, some potatoes, and onions. Cut all up(mushrooms and carrots, too) in to small bite size pieces, toss with a small amount of olive oil or grapeseed oil, season to taste, and roast them in a baking dish. The flavors all blend fantastically, and go great with that pork roast you mentioned.
  • How about lite versions, or even the fat free versions? Or Use fat free sour cream, and add similar spices yourself, and make it homemade, with lower sodium as well.

  • It's a brand of coffee, based out of New Orleans, popular throughout the S.E. US. comes in a red "brick", and also brewed by many many convenience stores as the brand of choice.
  • As my momma would say....tough! They want to eat? They learn to like what you cook, or go hungry. Anyway, here is a website aimed at cooking for one, with many healthy recipes: http://www.thehungrysingle.com/ths/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=45&Itemid=93
  • Healthy Choice Steamer meals are made for the microwave. At least 15 varieties to choose from. There's one of your daily meals right there, even though they have a tad more sodium than homemade. Also, go with some of the other suggestions of oatmeal (instant packs with some hot water), sandwich fixin's, salads. Check the…
