i really think its good and healthy to force yourself to do stuff your uncomfortable doing. the fist step out the door is the hardest. its so wrong, that ppl are rude and insulting to you. it speaks loads about them! they have no class and bad self esteem themselves. congratulations on your success!

go over 2.5 miles of the treadmill :)

im not sure about "the body adjusting" for cushioning or a hard running surface. Why are we always told not to run on the pavement, it causes shin splints? or why do they make a shock absorbing treadmill?

AGREED. BMI isnt useful at all. I have a photo of me and a younger soldier, holding a sign which says "= Height, = Weight" so our BMIs are =, but hes 50% stronger than me, and im alot fatter, so,BMI is meaningful whatsoever

yes, walking is good, but it doesnt train your heart and lungs like running, elevating you pulse to much high levels does. however, if you dont love it, you wont keep at it. ....so, yes i agree, either walking or running is a great improvement on sitting in front of the tv

Agreed 100% other than that, dont worry about it. I routinely go 10 bpm over so-called maximum heart rate. its called cardio training.
-
yeah, now that i can understand! other than that, just get a pair of new foam insoles = $2
-
yes, weight affects calories burned. but your heart rate is what is irregardless of age sex and weight :)

why not add some cardio? in a gym, the treadmill is challenging, (in a gym bring your headphones or it gets boring real fast). the elliptical is better for those with achy knees. or climb some hills or walk around your neighborhhod, or take the dog for a run, or ...... whatever u like. if its not fun, you wont keep at it!
