  • I made the switch for SP to MFP in December and have been so happy about it! I still log in to SP every now and again, but I like the community aspect of MFP better. I do like the favorites list on SP better though, this one here on MFP really sucks in my opinion. As for the one person who suggested loseit, I disagree.…
  • You look awesome! I don't know what their problem is, but your family is very mistaken. Furthermore, you need to call your sister out on her carelessly chosen words. There is a right way and a wrong way to approach something and saying, "Ew, gross" is not the way.
  • Google the yoga pose called pigeon pose. That stretch has helped me greatly in the area.
  • I think that IIFYM is not about eat whatever the crap you want, but that you can fit anything you want in moderation into your diet. So, if you really want ice cream, you can have it. Doesn't mean you should have a ton or everyday, but it can fit into your plan. When I first got on here, macros were really, really…
  • Well, if your weight loss has slowed the first thing I would do is make sure you are measuring/weighing everything correctly. Secondly, I would check to see if 1200 is really the right amount for you. A good website to double check things is www.iifym.com I always hear that when you've hit a plateau you need to up your…
  • I do HIIT using fitness blender's you tube channel. (Still working my way up- I just do about 1-2 per week) I just recently watched a video where they explained this. They said that you should do 3 HIIT workouts, 4 max and that on the days that you are not doing HIIT you should do some low to medium impact cardio. That…
  • I'll go for it. I have an event I am participating in at the beginnning of July and want to look my best, so pushing myself for May is a good starter.
  • Appalling! Young children need fat in their diet. Especially before the age of 2.
  • Yeah, I was going to say add 500 calories to your total. If I remember right, that was what I was told to do. Can't remember for sure. I know that when I did weight watchers I got more points for bfing. My kids are 3 1/2 and 6, so its been a little while for me.
  • I had an online friend when I used to use Sparkpeople who was a low fat, raw vegan. I remember her saying she ate 3 lbs of bananas per day. That's like, what 7 or 8? A lot of bananas, but still a far cry from 51!
  • Great job! I think that I was about where you started, clothing size wise 18/20. I'm 5'4 so still short. Right now I'm 13 lbs down about size 16/18. Very encouraging! I will keep pressing on!
  • A lot of people on here go by their TDEE and log their exercise as 1 calorie because they do not wish to eat back their exercise calories. A couple of sites are the IIFYM site and Scooby's Workshop. I liked Scooby's Workshop the best. You can manually change your caloric goals here on MFP as well as your macros rather than…
  • Fitness Blender- especially the HIIT, tabata, and bootcamp workouts. I also built my own sandbag- it was super easy to do. Instead of just walking, throw in some running. I can only run a minute to a minute and a half at a time, but its really encouraging to know that I can do some. Lastly, dancing. No matter what your…
  • I cycle my calories so that I allow more on the weekends and eat less throughout the week. Then, I can have a little bit more of something I like. I still try to include healthy foods through. And, I still have sweets and things during the week, just not as much.
  • 5AM to see my husband off to work, then usually back to bed until 8 or 9 when kiddos get up. Sat usually till 8 or 9. Sun till 7ish.
  • Yeah, I've quit using MFP's counts for exercise entirely. I'd buy a HRM if I could but for now I just do fitness blender on you tube. They usually tell you how many calories is burns for 140 lbs, so I just calculate for my weight.
  • If so many foods are making you sick, maybe you need to figure out why they are making you sick. There is a diet called the GAPS diet that is for people who have extreme stomach sensitivities. Google it and you can see what its all about. It starts out with bone broth working your way up to other foods bit by bit so that…
  • Well, I get what you are saying. I'm getting better at it, but I had several days for a couple of weeks where I was just stuffed at 1300 calories or less and just couldn't bring myself to eat anymore. And sweets weren't appealing to me. Then I started exercising like crazy and am hungry all the time. Although, I've…
  • $25 a week isn't very much but I know exactly where you are coming from. I was there at one point having about that much per person in my family. I wasn't aware that the 1 gram of protein per body weight was the body weight that we are supposed to be at. I thought that it was the body weight that we are at now, which for…
  • I think my worst binge was VERY sweet homemade cake. It was left over from my friend's baby shower. No one at home could eat much of it since it was so sweet. They all had 1 peice. I ate half a cake in 3 days. I would have several huge pieces in a row until my mouth was all tingly with surges from the sugar and then feel…
  • I go back and forth. a lot of times, I'll plan only to delete half of the stuff. That can get frustrating and make me feel like I'm wasting my time planning. Sometimes I find that it works well to just plan my breakfast the night before, that way I at least have the day started right. However, as I am trying to squeeze in…
  • Hey, if you've got the support of your medical community than you are doing the right thing. A lot of people don't know how to put themselves in other's shoes and be supportive. Maybe some of them had some right things to say, you just gotta take it with a grain of salt. If you've had no success for this long with doing…
  • Wow! Lots of people here on CC&C! I'm excited to meet some of the others that I am not friends with (yet) and am also excited to see some of my favorite people on here. I of course, will not mention who my favorite people are....don't want to make anyone jealous
  • My name is Christina. I live in VA with my husband and our 2 kids. I'm just trying to get healthy for me and the family. My husband and I are both working on losing weight and getting healthy. I'm very active in 2 congregations. one is a Messianic Synagogue where we've attended for years and the other is a local small…
  • You'll be needing a size 14 jean in no time!
  • Can't wait to find out how they fit once you try them on!
  • I'll add you! I love having MFP! Its made such a difference in my journey=)
  • A friend here on MFP sent me to scooby's workshop. That is how I found out for sure how many calories I needed to be eating to lose weight. I had to play around with macros for awhile and still don't have it perfect, but I'm trying. One of the biggest things that I am doing right now is focusing on fruits and veggies and…
