Right on the money here. The best time to weigh your self is the same time, each time. Don't get stuck on an individual number. Focus on the number relative to your previous numbers. Look for the trend line, not anomalies. I advocate weighing oneself once a week. I weigh myself on Friday mornings immediately after waking…

As @SergeantSausage says, a pound a week is pretty good and a reasonable goal. He's also right about diet with regards to weightloss. Are you accurately logging all of your calorie intake? Weighing/measuring your food? Can you open your diary up for review?
-
^These I took a quick look at a few days of your diary. A couple of things that stand out immediately are generic food entries (like Chicken 3oz and Red Lentil Soup 1 serving). Unless you're using a food scale to ensure you're actually eating 3oz of chicken, you're most likely under estimating the amount of food you're…

@530roman - are you suggesting that my 2-3 trips per day is bad toiletiquette? I will point out that I use Poo Pourri so as to leave the illusion that my s*** don't stink.
-
@tincanonastring - totally through the website.

I'm against weighing as is as well. My oranges can have a peel that weighs 300g. That's works out to a lot of unrealized calorie intake. PS - weird, I thought I posted something similar in a prior update. Maybe not?

Hey Cheryl. I'm from NJ. Feel free to add me. (And that goes for anyone).

Hey man. Welcome.

I don't think you're hating. But you have thrown down the gauntlet. The onus is on you to start up a fitness thread...

He's got a swimmer's build.

Far from trying to live a healthy lifestyle, I'm much more interested in looking good. And if that's shallow or vain, so be it. I know I'm vain and I'm okay with it. However, I don't think being vain and being gay are inherently associated. I'm just a vain man who happens to be gay. I guess to add a little depth, I'm not…

And feel free to add me anyone.

Ahh yes. The otter. Such a great look.

I have a couple on my car. But my favorite is: OMG! I'm an Atheist.

I'm getting married in NJ in 10 days. Looking forward to it.

sigh...*they're...smh I'm appalled at my own grammar.

Okay - quick update. Since soooo many people suggested slowing down the long run, I gave it a whirl for my 16 mile run yesterday. I started out trying to run at 11' per mile. I never really got there though and ended up keeping it at around 10'30" per mile for the first 10 miles. I felt so good going into the next couple…

I see the error of my mathematical ways...he whispered sheepishly.

I don't mean to be contentious but 10' pace for my long runs is not faster than my target marathon pace, unless I'm calculating incorrectly. This certainly resonates. Getting to my goal and completing the race is fun to me. :) Again, thank you everyone for your thoughts.
-
I don't think I need to slow down any of my runs. My 5K PR is 22', my 1/2 marathon PR is 1:56'. And my marathon goal is 4:30. Using the calculator you provided, it would seem I'm right on target.
-
Thanks everyone for your thoughts!

Yeah, that's why I don't walk, usually. I really should, though, just to keep going. When I'm running less than 5, I run at a 8'30" pace, around 7-8 miles I run at a 9' pace. When I'm running anything longer than that, I keep it at a 10' pace so as keep some stamina. For sure. My program calls for increased mileage…

It's not very healthy, but I have a Payday candy bar waiting for me when I cross the finish line of my marathon this year.

Feel free to look me up. Same user name.

In my experience with Nike+ (using the sensor or the GPS app), the calibration is worthless. It seems the more I calibrate, the worse it gets. I have the same problem. I have records of 2:14 for a km and a PR for mile at 4:00. I just wish I could erase them because their so bogus. Good luck.

Well that's exactly my point. The argument was around the validity of the phrase with regards to homosexuality. However, in a broader sense, I don't like the phrase because it continues allow people to judge what they deem to be sins. Homosexuality, immigration, vaccinations, *kitten*, whatever it is they believe in,…

Lists are the only way to get things done in my mind. For work, I keep an ongoing to do list. For home, I write a different to do list almost every day. It's just so satisfying to cross things off it. And yes, I add things to my list after I've done them just so I can cross them off.

So no?

I think that you should perform a study to prove your hypothesis. I imagine you'll want focus groups and demonstrations to be a part of your experiment design. Total propaganda!

Same as above
