I would love to Audax but all the NSW rides seem to be on Saturday, i work Sat afternoons. Couple of the guys on the ride were Audaxers, they reckon that it is more forgiving than a group ride as you get to set your own pace, i would have certainly appreciated that yesterday.

Just got back from my longest ride ever 222km with 3000m of climbing, my previous longest was 128km. Thought id tackle the imperial century and the metric double in one go  37 hours 866km and 10,692m of ascending for September.
-
The guy coming second though this week 68.2Km, 3h 36m 57,376 m. Not a motorbike, heli-cycling?
-
@sijomial There is a guy at my club that i know who had 2 weeks off and rode his bike everyday just around Sydney. He has clocked up 30,000m so far this month, who knows what he could have done if he had a month off and lived somewhere really hilly.
-
Only 2 rides this week, on the plus side managed to ride for 3 hours with no sign of cramps. 24Hrs 573Km 6650m vertical for September atm.
-
"Milestones" are easier in metric :D

Ive had three clip stacks, each time i was unclipped but leaned towards the clipped side, watch out for that. 19hrs 453Km 5500 metres of climbing for september. Going faster but a new unwelcome feature of my cycling has started to appear, Im cramping around the four hour mark. First time I put it down to lack of nutrition…

13hrs 297Km with 3600m of climbing for sep so far.

Lovely day here for the first day of spring, rode 101Km for a elevation of 1900m, however it was the first club ride ive failed to complete since i got back to cycling last november, started cramping in the quads at the slightest incline.
-
27 hours 643Km and 8945m of climbing for me in August. Down on the k's as i had a week off with a cold. Getting out the door for riding around at 3°c is starting to get hard, lucky its spring in a couple of days.

agree wholeheartedly. Saved me a lot of typing. Just to emphasise, a bike shop bike fit is quite different to a proper bike fit unless the shop does both.

12 Hrs 292Km for july. Last 2 weeks ive tried to step up a grade on my clubs training ride. From 25kmh avg to 28kmh avg, been dropped both times and came back tired. Yesterday i ate an extra 2000Kj, didnt get dropped today and came back reasonably fresh. Got to fuel up for long rides. https://www.relive.cc/view/1687701435

getting the jitters... havent been able to ride for a week due to a minor injury... only one day lost really because its been raining every day. 277Km 12 hrs for june so far.

it is easy, you just press the capture button. That picture is actually a capture post ride off the video using vlc. A cyclic is probably overkill if you don't want a constant ride capture camera. I have a gopro session which I use when on holiday, the gopro is also easy to remove from the mount if you happen to want to…

I wasnt saying dont ride in the rain, just ride when you enjoy it, some people dont like to ride when its hot either but i much prefer that. The sun finally came out for me today
-
@smsquash what gearing do you have on your bike? With steep terrain you certainly should look at having the gears to enable you to get up the hills. You dont need to stay seated when coming to a stop, i can barely touch the ground while seated. I always stand when come to a stop. Riding in the rain is a personal thing, i…

Ive switched from being a night owl to being a morning person just to fit my cycling in, riding will help with your weight issues and muscle retention. You really need to be eating at a surplus to gain muscle.
-
Id like to try Zwift, but not knowing whether id stick with it makes me reluctant to stump up for a smart trainer. Haven't found a studio nearby that lets you try Zwift.
-
Even the swans are seeking out the sun. 4Hrs 101Km for june.

Got my first winter ride in this morning. Cold and windy ride of some Sydney beaches with a few hills.
-
2nd day of winter in sydney. Cold and windy. Going to be my first winter of riding, rain will keep me in bed. :)
-
Nice ride, great pace as well. How long have you been riding?
-
Finally did my first metric century today. 115Km with 1200m of climbing. 25hours for 590Km in may so far.

Wouldn't trust driverless cars just as yet, its early days still. I don't think driverless cars will eliminate all road deaths, just greatly reduce them.
-
Driver less cars have radar, the cyclist not having lights shouldn't make a difference to them.
-
Seems to be the same everywhere except in few European countries. My son cycles and i worry when i know he is riding even though i ride myself. Definitely a lot better when Im riding with my club, if there is a club around definitely worth a joining.
-
Interesting way of doing it, btw that simplifies to: meters of climbing/(Km*10) @aokoye Unfortunately there are very few countries in the world where the motor car has not pushed aside the bicycle. Im looking forward to driver less cars, at least they wont be pre programmed to be reckless as some drivers are.

Got a flat on the first hill, didnt have a flat for six months, two weeks ago i tried to go on this ride and got a flat in the first five minutes, was a piece of glass, this time pulled out a shiny brass tack. Im going tubeless. Try again next week weather permitting.
-
I dont hate hills, maybe i havent done enough of them. Got a decent hit out planned for saturday
-
306Km, 13Hours. Not enough riding last week, i dont ride if it is raining, add cold and windy to that and i stay in bed.
