How far out are you? In the beginning my "list" was quite long, just like yours. (which is why we want to strangle anybody that says to us, "oh, you took the easy way out!" :explode: I am now lactose intolerant, so I have to avoid milk products and ice cream etc. (which, by the way is VERY common with us RNY'ers, so you…

Step away from the laxatives! Girl, you are treading in dangerous waters! Not healthy, not necessary and sometimes over use of laxatives, doctors consider the first signs of an eating disorder....You are a very pretty lady! Be patient , hide your scale and just eat right. You're doing fine, just strive to be healthy. Thats…

Awesome! You look great! You can totally see the difference! Go Girl!!

Go to your doctor and have a set of vitamin levels run on you. These blood tests will show any signs of anemia, lack of protein, low on calcium, Vit.D etc. When I had my surgery (gastric bypass) almost 7 years ago, I lost almost half the hair on my head. No kidding. The human body will shed hair from having surgery (the…

Low calorie yogurt in yummy friut flavors, crystal light (calorie free) sugar free cranberry juice or cranberry/blueberry blend. Hope you feel better soon!

Excellent idea! Seriously, have your husband hide it for you and instruct him to let you only weigh once a month. Trust me, take it from a former "scale *kitten*" (LOL!), you will drive yourself nuts, over every little fluctuation and when you do weigh in, you will see a couple of pounds, not just daily fluctuations. TOM,…

Check the ingredients on your husbands protein. A lot of those "Pro performance" formulas are geared towards guys only. If women use them, sometimes we gain. (I used to work at a vitamin store). There's a lot of stuff in bodybuilding formulas, that we ladies should stay away from.

Here in the central valley of California, they sell for 99 cents a lb, pretty much year round. But this time of year they come in from Mexico, it's on a sticker on the squash. I guess it depends on what area of the US you live in, as to what price they are. That just happens to be what I'm having for dinner tonight. One…

I have two bum knees from 20 years in the grocery business. I have no cartilage under my knee caps. Basically bone against bone. Every three months, my ortho doc injects this artificial cartilage into (and under) my knee caps. I've been doing this for several years and so far so good. I really do NOT want two knee…

Remember ladies, MFP asks for our age, when we calculate our formulas. So, I bet that MFP does take into consideration just how old we are. I'm 56 (i still think I'm 26 however! ) and I can lose weight. I have it set at about 1 lb a week. At this age, I'm not in a hurry about anything, including weight loss!

You guys are making me hungry!!!! One shredded pork enchilada, homemade. Yum...

Depends on what the "normal range" is at that particular lab. I have Kaiser here in California and the normal range is between 30 and 100. My last labs said mine was 39. Don't go by what mine are, cause I'm a gastric bypass patient and have to pound vitamins, daily. (and have for the past 6 and a half years, cause of my…

Same reason I'm not on facebook anymore....It's nobody's business! I grew very weary of too much info, being plastered all over the internet. Thats just me, I guess. I'm a uber private person....

Me too!! I would love a reduction....sigh....

Number one reason why I deleted my facebook account. I got really fed up with my personal business, plastered all over the internet! Thats also why my diary here is private.....:embarassed: Just my two cents...

Welcome back! I've been on here for only a couple of weeks, and I love it! I stay at home too. Not willingly, I just can't find a job!!! Add me a s a friend, if you like! We can do this together!!

Even though I'm a grandma...(way past the having babies stage) I am a gastric bypass patient. One of the things they tell you in the seminar, in the very beginning of being approved, they stress BIG TIME, that losing weight, makes you a fertile myrtle. Proven fact. Ask any bariatric doctor. Best of luck to you! Being a…

I've got one word for that idiot......*kitten*!! What a jerk...

I've walked in both sets of shoes. I was a "fat cow" at 245 and a "skinny bi@ch" at 145. Belieive me, no matter what size you are, too thin, normal size or too fat, name calling hurts! By the way, when I was way too thin (think anorexic looking) I got more name calling, than when I was big! I think people think they have a…

I am 5'5" also and also 189. I am also a gastric bypass patient, 7 years out and have experienced some gain. (on my way back down tho!) I lost too much and ended up at 145. Let me tell you, I looked ghastly at 145! I looked like a major tweaker,(drug addict) or an anorexic. Even my boyfriend (at the time) preferred…

Hello everyone, I'm new here, joined last week and have already lost one lb. Until last night I think....I got all upset after talking with my sister (our Dad is basically a vegetable, pretty incoherent and is not doing well at all) He's in a really nice assisted living place and my sis went to check out a nursing home and…

For me, it was a series of events that happened. I've had a taste of what being thin feels like. I'm a gastric bypass patient and I lost 100 lbs. I actually went WAY too low (145) and looked like a tweaker or an anorexic person. I bounced back to my perfect weight of 165. I stayed there for a long time, till I met my…

Good job! Keep up the good work! I'm new here too. I LOVE this site! Much better than any other I've been on!!!

Awesome! I hope I do as well as you! Keep up the good work!

For me.....I don't really "see" any weight loss (or gain)for quite awhile. I'm a gastric bypass patient and it's very common for someone who has lost a huge amount of weight, say 100 lbs, to walk around for months even years, not really "knowing" what size they are. It's a trip! The therapists call it body dismorphic…

Prayers going up!! Try not to be too scared.....(easy for me to say, I know...) But they have made MAJOR advances in the cancer field. I'm the only child out of 4 kids that has NOT come down with cancer. It can be beaten! My dad survived colon cancer and my sister is in remission for colon cancer for 7 years now. I have…
