  • P90X is a collection of workouts, you do them all according to a schedule provided by Beachbody. You cannot spot reduce, in terms of improving your abs, you need to lose any overlying fat, as well as work the core. P90X definitely works your core.

  • Polar FT4, ~$70, easy to use, seems pretty reliable/accurate and durable. Chest strap is pretty comfy and machine washable.
  • Pretty much. I used to alternate running days w/ circuit training. Now I do P90X and run twice a week or so. Just finished round 1 of P90X and going into Round 2.
  • I have no idea, I hate it when I can't work out. It bugs me. I aim to work out 6days a week. I'm near my goal weight (have been 5-7lb within my goal for 5y now), fwiw.
  • Remeron is known to cause weight gain. It's a great antidepressant, but yeah, good for those who need/want to gain weight. Not for those who need/want to lose.
  • Of course the HCG diet "works". You starve yourself by eating only 500cal/day. How would one NOT lose weight by doing this? Then you stop the diet and you gain all the weight back, adn then some, and screw with your metabolism while you're at it. To the OP of the post, you've lost 40lb, that's awesome, keep up the good…
  • wow, i'd focus on dealing with that quite unsupportive and well, jerky husband before I'd focus on losing so much weight in a short period of time when you are already within a healthy weight range for your height. This post makes me so sad on so many levels.
  • Doing P90X, but do at least 3days of cardio (try to get in 4), two days of weights (P90X workouts), one day of YogaX
  • Never heard of an HRM sports bra. However, a good HRM would involve a watch and chest strap (the ones thta are just a wristwatch aren't as accurate). I have the POlar FT4, ~$70 at amazon and super easy to set up and use. Highly recommend.
  • MOst HRMs are only meant to be worn during exercise (and they do stay in place) . There are some, like BodyFit, that are meant to be worn all day.
  • I'm in my last week of P90X. My arms are more toned than ever, and I have more muscle overall. I'm a bit slimmer, but the scale hasn't changed much. I do plan on keeping up with it (I sub in running twice a week for their cardio and also do PlyoX once a week if possible). for equipment - you need some hand weights, I use…
  • You have to lose the fat layers that lie over the stomach muscles. You also need to strengthen your core (so that when you eventually melt away the fat, there are some lovely muscles to show off). I really like AbRipper X (part of the P90X series) and yoga. jackie warner and jillian michaels both have good ab routines/dvds…

  • I have a Polar FT4 and really love it. The chest strap is comfy and machine washable. As far as someone buring 1000cals/hour, thta sounds rather high. It's more typical for a woman to burn 100cals for every 10min of aerobic exercise.
  • Howdy. I'm in wk 10 of the lean program of P90X, and while the scale hasn't dropped significantly, pants that I have not been able to wear in over a year fit (wearing them right now!). My upper body is definitely more lean and toned, my tummy flatter, (i tend to carry most of my weight in my legs, and they are getting…
  • Yeah, you enter it manually (HRM are great for calculating strength burns, ime), under cardio though.
  • A chest strap is a must. I have the POlar FT4, ~$70. Love it. Strap is machine washable, which is a plus. Easy to set up and use (which was HUGE fo rme, the fancier the HRM, the harder it is to use, IMO).
  • We have a pullup bar that does not "install", b ut hangs on top of door frame. It's called the Iron Gym. That b eing said, I still use resistance bands, although hoping to move onto a couple actual pullups at some point.
  • I can't eat any FiberOne products w/o paying "the price" a few hours later. )-:
  • If you can try it On Demand or rent from library, do that first. It KILLS my knees. Or at least it did. I do P90X and have no problems w/ my knees doing the program.
  • Not imo. Unless you are doing major cleaning (like top to bottom, once a year spring cleaning, where you're doing windows, things you don't normally do day to day).
  • Everyone I know who has done it has had remarkable results (unless the stopped doing it!). And the P90X Informercial always made me want to do it. I was already working out consistently, just wanted something more, something to kick my *kitten* in different way. P90X is it. I hope to keep it as part of my exercise regimen…
  • Am on WK 9 of P90X and very happy my husband bought it (got it for himself, but I'm now the one actually doing it!). I was already working out for ~40min 5-6itmes a week, so it wasn't a HUGE change, but the 90min of yoga is quite, well, long (although love it and have become stronger and more flexible just by doing this…
  • FWIW, I have a POlar FT4 and love it. Got it for around $70 on amazon. Super easy to set up and seems pretty accurate. Has a chest strap that is machine washable.
  • I wear an HRM to track calories burned (have tried to find similar workouts on MFP, and they are FAR off my actual burn).
  • I'm on wk 9 of P90X lean. I have missed a workout here and there and have also subbed workouts (I don't do Cardio X, I do Plyo or run instead). I think it's the sum of the whole that causes results, not a workout missed now and then. I don't do the stretch/rest day - i usually run that day if my schedule allows. I've been…
  • When I did WW the firs ttime (after birth of my first child), I didn't do much exercise (other than walks w/ baby in stroller) . I lost the most weight during this time just through diet. FWIW, weight loss is like 95% diet and 5% exercise. But exercising is more about keeping your body healthy through strenthening your…
  • Sounds like a true starvation diet. I'm sure people will swear by it )-:
