Hi  I'm 33, from the UK, 21 lbs down with about 25 more to go. Feel free to add me for motivation and encouragement. I log every day

I suppose it depends on how much you have to lose overall... I needed to lose 45 lbs when I started; so far I have lost 20 and people are only just starting to notice (i got stopped in the street by 2 neighbours the other day saying how great I looked and that I had lost a lot of weight - very flattering :blushing: ) but…
-
I'm no expert but if fat made you fat, then high fat/low carb diets wouldn't work...
-
Mine's open  It's normally pretty good but a family crisis over the last couple of weeks has seen me eating way under my calorie goal so not much meal inspiration going on!
-
In the OP's defence, I've heard the same thing! If you're belly is cold while you are doing cardio, it's meant to mean that you are burning fat. Though, my fat (belly and butt) ALWAYS feel cold, presumably because the fat is like insulation, keeping the warmth in... like a thermos flask

Feel free to add me anyone looking for new friends and motivation :-)

Everyone has already said it really... I was a 'chubby teen' but through my twenties I lost a lot of weight (not through the health and fitness way but through a bad lifestyle - drinking, drugs, partying, etc). I too came to hate 'fat' people but I realised later in life that this was because I was so scared of being fat…

My sister in law is on the raspberry ketone pills (cheap ones from ebay) and she says since taking them she hasn't been hungry at all and is forcing herself to eat one meal a day. I have told her that eating one meal a day is not going to help with weight loss and that any effect she is having is almost certainly placebo.…

[/quote] to the OP ...I lost my first 30lbs without exercise but here is the thing...your tired don't exercise...that's fine...your tired...you exercise...bam energy for the next day...you come home not so tired you exercise again...bam more energy... It's that little round about...the thing is if you don't want to…

Heck yeah...

Thanks! I'm looking on Amazon now :)

Twinings Green Tea with lemon is lovely. Really light and refreshing...especially if you're not a lover of Green Tea on its own. Try it weak to begin with and then build up; I leave the bag in now for maximum benefit. I usually buy it from Asda or my local Co-op for about £1.20 for 20 bags

Hi... I'm Abi from Milton Keynes. I put on 3 stone after quitting smoking in 2012. I've lost a stone already using mfp, clean eating and exercising. Currently doing Insanity and (kind of) enjoying it! Add me
-
This. I've had sciatica and it's horrid. You have my sympathies
-
MFP wildly overestimates calorie burn. I often see people who log "XXXX burned 500 calories doing 20 minutes of walking, slow pace, 2.0mph". Sorry, but that's ridiculous. I work my *kitten* off on my exercise bike (that has a heart rate monitor built in to the handlebars) and I burn about 150-170 calories in a 30-40 minute…

No. Starving yourself (which is what you're effectively doing) may work in the short term but you'll feel like crap and as soon as you start eating again you'll put it all straight back on and then some.
-
Sounds good! What quantities/proportions do you use?
-
Thanks everyone! They all sound so good! I'm gonna have fun experimenting with my ingredients :)
-
Thanks guys! I'm looking forward to trying some of them :)
-
Thanks everyone! They all sound delicious! I'm going to be blending up a storm tomorrow!
-
Consistency. It's doing the same little things over and over that lead to big changes over time.
-
Add me too
-
The only reliable way to know for sure is to invest in a Heart Rate Monitor. It will be worth it and is so much more accurate that MFP or estimating.

I came across this website today - what a beaut! http://thehealthyfamilyandhome.com/ Lots of vegan options :)

I just logged my bad day and it wasn't as bad as I thought, only 200 calories over so not disastrous!
