Yes it is so true. Life get so much easier. Then your taste buds adapt too and when you have some, you can stop after a bite or two. The smell is a tough one to get over though. If you smell bread, try butter on cauliflower. If you smell cinnamon rolls, try cinnamon in your yogurt.

I'm still getting use to MFP but I've found a lot of unfriendly people on the forums. Whereas friends you have feeds with thumbs up and I think quicker shorter responses to, "I'm having a bad day!" with responses like "Hang in there, we all do, don't give up."

I drink water all day long but cut back in the evening. I start my day with 16 oz of low carb Monster. My first pee always has a hint of green. The rest of the day is almost clear, and yes I'm proud of that.

The super stupid part of this diet is that babies are suppose to gain weight in order to grow.

According to National Weight Control Registry, the vast majority of people (percentages shown) who keep substantial weight off (average 66 pounds) over the long term (longer than a year) do the following: Exercise 90% Eat a healthy breakfast 78% Step on the scale at least weekly 75% excerpt from Diary of a Fat Female

I have my macros set for low-carb 20% and high-fat 50% but don't stress if I have a 50% carb day. I'm not very good at maintaining the same calories every day. My real concern is meeting my protein, especially on exercise days. I like that MFP ups the requirements with exercise, but I'd rather get the extra calories from…

She's poor and lonely but doing an awesome job for herself and family. She needs to vent and get affirmation.

ARRGGG! I was so mad when the insurance company nurse called me offering to "help" because of a high cholesterol test. What the heck happened to privacy laws? Wow! You are doing really great on the goals. You can change your beginning weight but you can't change your start date. Click on "Check-in" and then "edit previous…

I feel for you. I've suffered from depression. Good food, friends and exercise are the cure. If I were you, I'd be more concerned about what your son is eating because you are his example. Start with small goals. As you achieve them, your self-esteem will improve and it will get easier.

You've lost a lot already. What is the rut? Boredom? Plateau? No longer really motivated? If it's boredom, staying in your calories is a great way to go. If it's a plateau, maybe go back to low glycemic without treats/cheats. If you're happy with your current success and are no longer motivated to lose, try maintaining for…

When you say blog entry, do you mean this post? I didn't find a blog on your profile. But MFP sometimes has glitches and you'll see incomplete profiles. I'm almost 50 and I've done this far more than 3 times. But I can honestly say I'm not a roller-coaster dieter. I've been pretty successful at making lifestyle changes but…

When you lost weight before, how long did it take? How long did you keep it off? Did you learn from that experience? An odd thing that I have noticed over the years of losing weight is that most of my weight loss compliments come when I'm maintaining weight. The fat seems to shift a month or two after I've stopped losing…

That monster's name is Ghrelin. The little angel on the other side is Leptin. Try some string cheese, hard boiled eggs, nuts or Greek yogurt as a snack. You want to eat protein for your snack, not fruit or other sugars. Eat fruit and other sugars with your meals or not at all. Get 7-8 hours of sleep a night. If hunger is…

That shakiness after rapid squats, feel the burn! I saved a Maxim magazine article on how to workout during sex. It was a whole body workout and it took me a long time to be able to work up to it. funny

I just went and looked that the container in the garbage and my log for the day I started eating the blueberries. I ate 2.5 pounds in just over day. I actually went to bed and jumped out of bed because I knew I bought blueberries the day before and didn't see them. I checked the back of my car and they had come out of the…

Yes, it becomes a trigger food for me. I can't stop. Usually, I can stop with my half cup of ice cream. But after eating blueberries all day, one handful at a time, when I went for my ice cream, I couldn't stop. I got 3 more servings which is abnormal for me. I don't eat the blueberries as fast if I add them to yogurt. I…

If you're wearing a HRM and can calculate. It's too variable to judge between different individuals. Besides, if you take a nap after it's probably a wash.

Oh, thank you! That picture is the perfect advice.

I'm torn how to answer this because you are young and don't have a lot of information on your profile. My suggestion is to make breakfast with some protein and eat it a little later than usual but don't skip breakfast. The problem I find with myself is eating under calories feels great because I'm not hungry. But when I am…

When driving calorie burn was calculated, it was in the 1950 when people didn't exercise and driving meant using a stick shift and clutch. I find calories burns intriguing and here is the list from my 1980s college nutrition class text book: Bookbinding .8 calories per minute Cello Playing 1.3 calories per minute Painting…

I just read your bio too. Congrats! You look amazing. Again, please be aware of the slippery slope. I would suggest spending some time experimenting with foods that you avoid now to see if you can eat them under control. Go out to a restaurant with friends and order something bad and see if you can eat one bite and leave…

Hopefully your tastes have changed over the past 9 months. Continue to record EVERYTHING but don't worry about what you are eating or if you go over. Take one bite (or sip) and think about it. Is it as good as you thought it would be? Do you just need that little taste or do you want to enjoy more? As many have said, you…

I agree with most people that most days I go under to compensate for the couple days that I go over. The other factor is exercise. I only eat back about half my exercise calories which ends up eating under my goal.

My highest was 237. I lost 10 pounds and kept it off for a year. Then I lost another 10 pounds and kept most of it off for a year. Then 6 months ago I started long term weight loss and I'm at 199 now. YEAH!!! My goal is to no longer be obese in a month.

I went through it about 10 years ago and have been grateful ever since. I do have lapses and it doesn't take nearly as long to recover now.

It is not mathematically verifiable in the body. Look at http://jama.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=1199154 which shows a 300 calorie/day difference between low carb vs low fat diets. Or http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22855277 which shows exercising 30 minutes at 300 calories actually burned 550 where as 60…

The body does care if food is whole, natural or fake and processed. The same calories in white bread are processed so quickly and spikes insulin compared to the same calories in cabbage will work the crap (ha ha) out of your body to process it. Sugar and non-nutritional foods require the body's resources to digest the food…

All calories are not the same. Watch Sugar the Bitter Truth http://youtu.be/dBnniua6-oM by Dr. Robert Lustig. He doesn't mention it but research was done on rats getting the exact same number of calories. The rats getting HFCS all 100% developed Metabolic Syndrome and the non-HFCS only some got Metabolic Syndrome.
