This happens to me all the time because I have low blood pressure and I don't like eating salt and don't eat processed foods. If you used to eat process foods and then start eating whole foods while drinking tons of water, you need to get between a half and full teaspoon of salt per day. If you've been told in the past…

Good for you. I didn't do it and I regret it. I finally did it after I had lost about 25 pounds. 10 pounds one year and another 15 a year later. Then I kept losing.

Oh, you must add some dark chocolate chips. A few more calories but worth it for the nutrition and satisfaction.

Congrats. I find that it takes a couple months after losing the weight and in the maintaining stage that suddenly out of no where everyone starts commenting about my weight loss. I lost 10 pounds and no one said anything until after I gave up losing but was motivated not to gain weight. That was Jan 2012. In April everyone…

You need between 72 grams of protein and up to 130 grams if you are a strength training vegetarian. I used a variety of sites but none seemed to ask all the statistics. Some based it on sex and height, others on sex and weight, some on workout level. The general rule of thumb, a sedentary person needs .8 grams per kg of…

There was a glitch or something. The first time I looked I could see what she logged and it was about 1100 calories per day. The second time I looked, there was nothing in the diary.

OP - I agree that you received negative unhelpful comments. When I looked at your diary, I noticed you were not eating enough calories but without knowing your weight, can anyone say whether you are eating too little protein? You also said you have been doing this for a while, so the rude comment that you should start…

Then just eat 3 big well balanced nutritional meals. Some say you will burn more fat if you don't snack. Others say that snacking boosts your metabolism. Do what works for you, just don't over do it.
-
I think you hit the nail on the head with all three.

Before you start cutting your calories, try finding out how many you normally eat. If you are currently eating 1600 calories than you know that 1866 is too high. If you are currently eating 3000 calories a day then 1200 is way too low. You can still start your "diet" today by choosing better foods such as home cooked…

Try adding fruit to your water. I was a serious Mountain Dew addict. I'm not one for the carbonation but I was in it for the sweetness and caffeine. Once a year I would quit for a week and have serious withdrawal. When I started eating better and exercising I stopped buying the stuff and slowly cut back. My husband likes…

Wow, no controversy!

My diary is only open to friends.

Because they don't know the science and believe the mantra that a calorie is a calorie. Based on a variety of clinical studies here is some interesting news: * Reducing calories below 1000 per day on average slows metabolism by 16% * Exercising 30 minutes at 300 calories actually burned 550 calories but exercising 60…

It's not your fault but you have the power to change. http://youtu.be/Ah6jZsEZGs4 Big Food and Big Government has altered the environment and our bodies. By being told to eat carbs as the foundation of society's diet has led to our bodies telling us that we are starving even while we are stuffing ourselves. Eat whole foods…

Agreed! Please do yourself a favor and buy plain yogurt where the ingredients are nonfat milk (or with fat), live active cultures and nothing else. Then add frozen berries - as many as you want. No added sugar necessary and you get your fiber. I eat yogurt for the nutrition and calcium, not my dessert. I'd much rather have…

Frozen berries and Greek yogurt. Grill 14 chicken breasts at a time and freeze them individually. Frozen veggies As mentioned, tuna, soup and avocados.

I've never had the "runner's high" but I do feel my depression worsen if I don't exercise for several days in a row. I also feel the depression today because I've had a piece or two of birthday cake and ice cream every day since my hubby's bday on the 20th and haven't gone to the gym because I'm on vacation. I've been…

Congrats on going low carb. Not having cravings and losing weight is a great feeling. About a decade ago, I lost 54 pounds going low carb. For most of the past 12 years I've avoided bread, potatoes and rice. I had some stressful times and ate birthday cake and frosting and cases of candy bars but still no bread, potatoes…

My first thought was too much protein. "The US Department of Agriculture recommends that all men and women over the age of 19 should get at least 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day (or 0.37 grams per pound). That means a woman who is 130 pounds should get at least 48 grams of protein, which could look…

It could also be a good sign that you feel horrible. We learn from our mistakes. But as others said, congratulate yourself for only having one piece of each.

this I disagree with others who say it's ok. Are you depressed because you did something you didn't plan on doing such as going over your calories or are you depressed because now you are in a sugar crash and your brain is telling you you want more. If you exercise, the chemicals making you feel depressed will go away.…

I've suffered from depression most of my life. I have been off anti-depressants the past 10 years because I started eating better and exercising. I HATE exercise but I've been doing it on average over half a year every year. Sometimes I go a couple years in a row straight, exercising all year. What I have done is 7 Simple…
