  • Hear this constantly, I'd personally ignore it I understand it gets frustrating. I don't see why other people make everything about them or get involved in everything.
  • Boredom hunger is the worst - try to do something else than reach for food when it occurs though? It's been a big issue for me but when I fill the void of boredom - snacking barely exists for me. Fruit helped me a lot when I do want to snack and I allow myself a chocolate bar here and there
  • If you aren't willing to comprehend and READ what people are telling you, try again some other time. It seems like you don't want to put in the work...which is relatively easy (key words: Calorie Deficit).
  • Thanks ladies :) I was out of my element for a bit but have managed to pull off 25 minutes including a HIIT session which I'm really proud of. I'll make it a commitment to do atleast 20 minutes of cardio each day until my spirits get lifted a bit higher. Although I know exercise lowers stress and it has for me personally,…
  • This makes sense, I'll drink a lot more water from today thank you.
  • I'm definitley happy now - more so that I've managed to keep maintain it for a year. The further I get the more goals I set though so my mind is always after something or I'd have stopped a long time ago and just maintained.
  • Calories are way too low, you're eating 800-1000 you say - you may be eating less than that but even that intake is very very low. Up your calorie intake.
  • Each time I've gained weight which I didn't read on the scale as it was my TOM at the time, I ALWAYS observe my face getting bigger - it has a little - not significantly and I know it'll go down if I continue keeping at a calorie deficit. I wasn't worried about calories when I was studying for my exams. My face has got a…
  • Did my first HIIT workout and it was brutal but am glad I did it, also got another good exercise session in. Going to do it everyday to keep myself on target. Thanks for the replies.
  • Yup, I was eating kievs and pies when I first started losing weight but the pounds rolled off when I added exercise (10-20 minutes a few days per week) but it gets a lot harder as you go on. However, healthy eating has been part of my lifestyle now as I find junk food in general making me feel sluggish so I try to keep it…
  • Definitley, you look really good! It's very noticeable - your stomach has tightened up a lot
  • I'm feeling it a bit too, now I'm at the last stages it feels like I can slack off but also am not getting the results I want. I've started to relax a bit and also my craving for junk food is slowly rising, I only had it on Saturday and want it today! Stay strong. One thing I'm going to do is 20 minutes of cardio each day,…
  • I did my let's say first as I never felt like this before from a workout - first strength training workout. Can feel the work done in my stomach even now, I'll stick with this and cardio. Appreciate all the help. /off I go
  • I find myself becoming overwhelmed time to time with it and I've been doing it for a year. I only joined the site a few months ago but the information you get can really help you. I suggest you take the information, experiment and come back with how you managed it.
  • It does but I don't want to go to it for personal reasons.
  • Will do, thank you.
  • I quite enjoy my kickboxing cardio workouts :)
  • Thanks I'll check those out
  • I have exactly that (2 slices of whole wheat bread per day). The diet is under control, all my habits have settled in, I was confused where to take it from here. Thanks, added.
  • Thanks a lot, this is what I wanted to know. So I'll keep doing the strength training exercises along with the cardio 2-3 times per week (cardio 2-3/week) Is it ok to do strength training for 15-20 minutes per day or more useful to have a rest day in between?
  • I've been doing it since last year so definitley not new - however I only have been doing cardio really (kickboxing mainly) which has helped me lose 20lbs. I don't have or go to a gym and I'm not planning to but I have a gym at home (I'm at Uni now) so when I go back in Summer, I'll probably start heavy lifting then. I'm…
  • Yup I get the calorie deficit bit - what I mean to ask is say right now I have a layer of fat over my muscles, if I do not work them out now when I have the high bf% will it cause me to look skinny-fat and not toned when I eventually do lose the fat over it? I don't have issues with eating or exercise at all and have been…
  • I'm not looking to spot reduce, I understand that the whole body will become toned as I progress which I want, but the main thing I want to see go down is my belly fat. That's a good idea the HIIT 2x and the weights - my weights are 2.3kgs and 4.6kgs...I was planning to lift heavy in the summer at home as I have a full set…
  • Salter Scales are quite good, they cost £18-20 from Argos/Amazon Salter Scale - Compact Analyser Scale is the one I use
  • Started my exercise routine after a difficult exam week which felt so good - muscles were/are still sore this morning but still went out to get my food shopping done (40 min walk). I also got healthier foods which should keep me on good standing for the next week and so.
  • I honestly would work solely on the depression itself, you don't need to pressure yourself with weight loss. Deal with what is causing the depression explicitly and then perhaps when you feel you're up to the challenge you can lose the weight. I've also been through clinical depression for about a year but as doctors never…
  • Work on the problem itself is the best advice I can give. I was severely depressed and emotional eating a lot, but when I stopped and learnt how to tackle the things giving me stress, the need to comfort eat was removed and made everything easier. Of course it doesn't happen overnight but it's something you need to do if…
  • I used to feel the same way - I had always felt before that I was just born a fat person and could never shift it. The thing I changed was my habits. I got sick of junk food and the way food in general was making me feel so I first stopped my snacking completely for about a month and the next week from when I started to…
  • As I still have belly fat, I do get teased a bit by family. Also everytime I gain a few pounds it goes to my face and my family pick up on it like anything, good thing I sorted it over Xmas holidays to not allow it to become a big deal. I've had lots of comments myself, mainly from my mother making me feel bad when I was…
  • For lunch I usually have two pieces of chicken (not that big but enough) with vegetables (broccoli, green, sweetcorn etc.) and roast potatoes. Snacks: I started incorporating fruit in my diet, it's worked really well as a snack between meals to make sure I'm not undereating.
