  • Thanks! Will do. Gotta get back to work, and will dig in later. I appreciate your help. :-)
  • That's what I'm thinking, but I've been trying to lose these 20 pounds for a couple of years now and am pretty frustrated. I'm ready to get moving. Desperation breeds gullibility I suppose...
  • I'm a more-protein and fat-less-carb type of eater, so I may not have the best response for your here, however I find that coconut oil (which has a fatty-acid chain that assists in weight loss) to be a useful substitute. If you are just trying to lower your overall calorie count however, spreadable honey? Delicious!!! Me -…
  • Definitely (of course) skip the workouts! The first thing I do when I feel something coming on is to cancel my workouts. If I keep working out I'll just prolong my illness. Regarding the food, I ease up on myself, but generally stay within my calorie allotment. A day or two way under or way over won't do much.
  • He kept blaming me for all these things I didn't do. Its a really long story.
  • Had a weird thing with an octopus I just couldn't get past

  • So, who are you if you are not struggling with your weight? You say that you have no maintenance identity...well now's a good time. Can you be a person who cares for health mindfully? Can you be present to who you are without being motivated by fear and anxiety/ For example, "I'm eating well today and exercising because I…
  • What an amazing achievement!! Clearly, you must love yourself enough to have worked so hard to get where you are today. While we all struggle with issues of self esteem, I understand how disappointing it must be to have eradicated it along with the weight. Here are a few suggestions (and I don't know you, so these are…
  • More information might be needed as to what is making you nervous. Are you nervous in general? Are you overstimulated by the crowd and vibe of race day? Do you have a fear of not reaching a specific goal you have set for yourself?
  • HI! I've been here for awhile and have been hesitant to make friends due to the quickly flaming comments in the threads! I'm hoping to make friends with people who are supportive, consistent, and open-minded. Feel free to send me a request if that sounds like you too!
  • Oh, Sweetie, have I been there! Remember that you are creating a new lifestyle for yourself, and sorting that out takes time. I have two kids, a part time job, and am also the co founder of a non-profit. My marriage is great, my kids are awesome, happy, and well-cared for, I run, do pilates, and karate. However, my house…

  • If she has found what works for her, why are any of you offering advice or telling her that she is wrong? Where is the support? She found a way to lose weight that works for her, and I should be so lucky. For those of you who have found other ways to think about food and make use of MFP, congrats on your success! But let's…
  • I would think if it more about percentage of your calories eaten. I like to eat low carb and have set my macros to have a goal of no more than 30% of my calories from carbs. You could go 80% if you wanted to. Lowest would be 20% (or 15% temporarily) It just depends on what kind of diet works best for you. You kinda just…
  • I live in Austin where there is a paleo food truck that sells bulletproof coffee and her recipe is 12 oz olympia coffee, 1 T Upgraded MCT Oil, 1 T grassed butter, and stevia to taste. There are instruction and a video if you look up Bulletproof Executive on Facebook. Very filling and a great way to start the day if you are…
