I know that feel! I just tried on my own wedding dress again recently. It's funny to think of yourself fitting into that! You looked, and still look, lovely. Congrats!

You look amazing! Way to go!

This thread gives me some serious hope! Thank you for posting it.

I came home to so many supportive comments my eyes welled up reading them! Thank you to everyone who posted here. You are all wonderful and supportive people and I wish you all the best as we do this thing together!

I wish I had good advice. I try to do the best I can, and I usually don't trust the serving sizes in the database, so if I have a bowl of Pho, for instance, I'll do like 1.5 bowls if a single bowl only says 300 calories in the MFP database. This is ok for me because I'm ok with going over, though.

The best thing for me is putting a little bit of cocoa powder and a tsp of honey into 1/2 a cup of plain, full fat yogurt. That's what I eat when I want a post-dinner snack or dessert. It satisfies the craving, kinda makes me think I'm eating chocolate, and full-fat yogurt makes you full.

Thank you! I am so excited. A 5k doesn't seem like an impossible goal for crazy people anymore!

There is something so special about having a size that starts with a 1 instead of a 2! I remember how gleeful I felt when I started fitting into 18s. Way to go, you! Wonderful job and so inspiring!

I went from a 40 DD/DDD to a 38 DDD (at least at VS--we all know bra sizing is laughably inconsistent) after losing close to 40 lbs.

Maybe it would help to stop punishing yourself so much? I know there are people on here on 1200 calorie a day diets who are working out 6-7 times a week, but honest-to-goodness I have no idea where they find the time, let alone the motivation. I go to the gym once a week, go running once a week, and take long rambling…

I have PCOS, too, so this might not apply, but here is what has worked for me: 1) I listen to my body. I know people on these forums seem to exercise every single day, but when I have one of those afternoons where walking home from the train station feels like pushing one leaden foot in front of the other, I am not going…

I am a combination of overweight, PCOS and hypothyroid, so sometimes it's hard to figure things out, but I have always had irregular periods since I was a kid. Sometimes I would go for months without one and freak out, but was never pregnant. I was at my heaviest weight and newly diagnosed with PCOS when I decided on a…

This sounds like a type of math I haven't done in a long time, so I don't remember the calculation you would need, but I found this site: http://www.machinehead-software.co.uk/bike/speed_distance_time_calc.html And it says your average run speed would have to be 8.18 miles per hour. Hope that helps!

I have been using a combination of google maps on satellite mode and gmap-pedometer with some success for the better part of 5 years. I do also second the recommendation of google searches to see if anyone is keeping a blog of nice walks in your area, etc. For example, I just googled "chicago area nice walks" (I don't live…

You could go to sleep earlier, or you could ignore it, or you could do what someone else suggested and budget your calories for a regular late-night snack. Maybe a string cheese or a couple of pieces of salami or some kimchi would do the trick if you tend toward salty.

Gazpacho! Also, cucumber yogurt soup: http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/cold-cucumber-soup-with-yogurt-and-dill

Kettle Corn!

I would say yogurt is more chaotic neutral, depending on your level of lactose tolerance.

Well, the bad news is that losing weight is not the path to being perfect. It never will be. My body pretty much looks the same as it did before...just a little bit smaller. That said, let me share with you what got me started and what has sustained me: http://catvalente.livejournal.com/684469.html…

Try some pilates videos! Pilates made me flexible and strong, and helped me get more comfortable with the way my body does things.

I know! So much sodium in things like almond milk. And in my favorite foods (this, I knew about), like kimchi and pickles.

This is why I was keeping my diary closed for a long time and just recently only allow friends to see it. What I eat is none of anyone else's business but mine. Sure, the community is part of why we come here, but everyone's individual body and what they put in it is a private concern. For heaven's sake, all many fat…

Sure! Feel free to add me. I'm not very inspirational at the moment, FYI, as I don't always manage to get within my calories, but I have found some helpful recipes and I try to be creative with lunches and dinners.

What about beans and lentils, mashed cauliflower and root veggies like turnips and jicima? You have options!

I went from 246 to 207 and I'm still working on it. My before/after is my profile pic. Pic on the left is my wedding day, June 2010, after which I gained 10 pounds (at that heavier weight I regret to say I avoided cameras like the plague). In that picture I was wearing shapewear, even, and you can still see the belly. Pic…

1 egg fried hard with a little bit of hot sauce is the perfect breakfast for me, these days.

I just want you to know that I got married 10 pounds shy of my heaviest, gained ten more pounds, and THEN realized something was wrong and started counting calories and trying to lose weight. You may or may not want to get married, but if you are looking for a steady and positive relationship, that person will love and…

I understand! Most of the time, nobody cares, but I am a bulky, strong looking woman and I get red when I exert myself so I get those obnoxious stares from young guys who are probably going to tweet later about how gross I am. I am very thoughtful as a gym-goer, wipe down the equipment, ask if anyone needs to work in, make…

Pureed chilled cucumber yogurt soup. Mashed cauliflower instead of potatoes. Make lasagna with eggplant or squash or zucchini sliced thin instead of noodles. Spaghetti squash. Sauteed kale in your breakfast omelettes.

Well, if you hate riding your bike in general, I would suggest finding something more fun (weight-lifting? roller-blading? swimming? wrestling?). Otherwise, work up to it. Do short bike rides easy every day (like, bike to the grocery store! Or to the laundromat! Unless you live out in the country in which case nevermind)…
