also 5'10" and want to be 130 pounds? That's the very low range of normal BMI, bordering on underweight for that height. Try to get to 180, then 170, then 160 first, and see how you feel then. At my best shape, I was 5'7" and ~140-145...and I looked and felt fantastic. Like, wear a bikini no problem fantastic.

I could definitely start with a fitness goal that is just objective/number based. I have a very hard time thinking how far I've come when I've only gained weight back that I HAD lost before.

thanks all!! :) @Guinivere - you'll get there! I couldn't do more than one or two real push-ups when I started, which is ridiculous because I always was a strong kid. I started a thread to ask MFP to allow us to keep things green (instead of red) like too much fiber: shouldn't be red if you go over, imho it should stay green if you want it to! I don't mind being over in protein or fiber at all.
