I run 5K in 33 mins and I weigh 260 lbs (118 kg) Roughly speaking you should shave a minute off your 5K time for every 10 lbs you lose. Say you weigh 300 lbs and you run it in 46 mins, if you go down to 240 lbs all things being equal you should run it in 40 mins.

Thanks Chevy. You could easily get there as long as you train consistently, a lot of people can do this.

Ran a 5K race at 11:15 mins/mile pace. Better than last year

Thanks Dean. Jokes do not always translate well from greek to english and I need to watch what I'm saying to avoid misunderstandings. Luckily I haven't had that many awkward moments so far. Wikipedia says that Athens gets 87 rainy days a year (vs 178 in Kallispell), it hardly ever snows and the average annual…

150 miles for me this month. The Athens Half Marathon is next Sunday. I'm only running the 5K distance which I'd like to finish under 35 minutes. If I keep training like I am right now I'll most probably give the half a try next year.

Didn't quite make my goal, but I was this close. Considering the challenges I'm facing at work, moving my *kitten* almost 150 miles on foot and managing 11 runs in April is not too shabby

Kudos to you and your amazing family. :drinker: :drinker:

@Dave: It gives me goose bumps to watch 50,000 fans singing this in unison even though I'm not a Liverpool fan. Still, it's a great song

Good news is that I keep moving about 5 miles on foot every single day. Bad news is that I'm hungry all the time :grumble: :grumble: .... Fat and fit isn't too bad, is it?

Skipped my Sunday run, but I'll catch up today. Luckily my long run at this stage of the 5K plan I'm following is only 20 minutes of continuous running

So true. My wife keeps bringing this up. I'm not a touchy feely dad, but they're gone before you know.

Lent Monday today, a national holiday here. The official start of the Lent fast which lasts 40 days to Easter Sunday. During Lent, many of the faithful commit to fasting or giving up certain types of luxuries as a form of penitence, repentance of sins and self-denial.... I'm not religious myself, although this might be an…
