  • My problem is that a lot of desserts taste even better when they're frozen, straight from the freezer. Pies, cakes, muffins - put individual portions in the freezer and they still call to me ...!
  • Yep - this is my standard peanut butter cookie recipe. Just be careful because they can be a little crumbly - may have to add more peanut butter, or might depend on the size of your egg. Also try it with brown sugar - I've used just 1/2 cup of brown sugar instead of the white sugar and it worked well.
  • Days 1-5 30g Wittakers dark chocolate (72% cocoa from Ghana) each night, sometimes with 30g brie cheese Day 6 Fruit and custard Day 7 Raw brownie bar (walnuts, dates and cocoa powder - so rich and so yummy) Day 8 Peanut butter brownie bar using greek yoghurt (1 serving), no-bake chocolate peanut butter oat slice (5…
  • I like your style - can we swap recipes? My problem is all the yummy things I want to make, but having to limit myself to only making a few things at a time so they're not sitting around the house ...! Sorry to hear about your oven - hope it gets fixed soon.
  • Yeah, the side-effects of gluten aren't that pleasant ... but on the bright side it's stopped me from eating any more of those cookies! Only a little over my calories for the day since I've stopped eating the cookies, but overall the week is still good (and I lost weight this week too, to put me in my maintenance range…

  • Thanks guys - moment has now passed. I can't get picked up for another half an hour now, and then we'll be going shopping for the supplies for pizza, and then I'll be making the pizza so I won't eat until dinner now. Thanks again for the suggestions and support. Greatly appreciated.
  • No, it's not an evening snack - that's just where I put everything I eat that doesn't fall under the breakfast, lunch or dinner! For example, I had my raw energy bar around 10am, my mandarin at 2pm and I'll have the rice pudding after dinner. And thank you for saying I eat well - made me feel warm and fuzzy inside! No, not…
  • I've just had a mandarin (and brushed my teeth). I know that's not that filling, but it was really yummy. I was thinking about walking around the block, but it's just started raining. I don't really want to eat anything like chicken stir-fry or noodle soup - I only have 150 calories left for the day once I account for the…
  • Oh, and I've been drinking lots of water, already had one mug of green tea, I've brushed my teeth several times now as well. I just need to have that self-control (which I know by definition needs to come from within)!

  • Thanks heaps Acrylics and LolBro - This is an amazing achievement for me as I am trying (desperately) to be consistent with my calorie intake, without extreme zig-zagging and eating whole bowlfuls of cookie dough like I have so often in the recent past ... and getting praise from you guys who have given heaps of advice…
  • I used to suffer a lot with periods, with cramping and migraines. Since going GF, they are much lighter, last less time and I haven't had a full-blown migraine for ages. Gotta be happy with that!!
  • Oh, and I only had a spoonful of the dough of each of the cookies and 2 of the finished floured cookies, 1 of the finished flourless cookies. BIG NSV for me as I could have easily eaten the whole bowl of dough of each of them! And I stayed in my calorie limit for the day. And today I was at the very top of my maintenance…

  • Thanks for the recipe - and I love trying new things so continue to share as you wish! I have actually tried those cookies - very yummy indeed! Here's some photos from my baking on the weekend: All these recipes are on the cookathome.info website - just something I work on in my spare time (not trying to promote it, but if…
  • Is it too late for me to jump in? I only really started having indulgences last week but here goes: Days 1-5 30g Wittakers dark chocolate (72% cocoa from Ghana) each night, sometimes with 30g brie cheese Day 6 Fruit and custard Day 7 Raw brownie bar (walnuts, dates and cocoa powder - so rich and so yummy) Day 8 Peanut…
  • My next question is - if I'm not hungry, should I try to eat, to avoid having too low a content for the end of the day? As mentioned before, I have been known to do extreme highs and lows within the same week and I'm aiming for a more consistent approach ... I know it's only one day and tomorrow it could all change again -…
  • Thanks - I just had something small to eat for lunch - see how the rest of the day works out ...
  • Thanks for the quick comments. However, just checking the two breakfasts - they both have about 22-23g protein in them. I was definitely having gurgly tummy noises both days on the weekend (and could have done with my morning snack), similar to previous days where I did have the morning snack. Today, just feeling full ...…
  • I love cooking from scratch and do so the majority of the time - especially since I have a gluten sensitivity, it makes life easier if I make it, rather than risking the restaurant meals. I eat lots of vegetables, not as much fruit. I would be quite happy cooking meatless dishes, and often do for myself with beans, eggs,…
  • I've just started compiling all my recipes on a website - I try to do a weekly blog post as well, discussing all my successes and failures, especially with the gluten-free cooking. Check it out if you're interested: http://cookathome.info/

  • Thanks for the comment. I know I'm not alone and I know I'm not the only one who has done the overeating thing. I guess what scared (and annoyed) me about this weekend is how much I could (and did) eat. I knew what I was doing, I knew I was eating more than I needed, but I kept doing it. I did go for a walk on Saturday,…
  • Bump for other opinions?
  • Cookie dough - if I'm baking myself, I have to have a spoonful (at least) while mixing, just to make sure it's ok. Then, after I've put the first batch on the tray, if I don't have a second tray to put the next batch on, I will stand by the bowl and just spoon more and more into my mouth while I'm waiting for the first…
  • I managed to go for about 3 months without accidentally eating any gluten until a lunch last month, when I chose the wrong sushi (it had breaded crabsticks, when I thought it was just normal fish). Normally I just want to lie down in the foetal position when the stomach churning etc starts, but this time, I was at work, so…
  • Great plan! As a fellow GF eater (non-Celiac gluten intolerant), can you let me know the recipe of your peanut butter pie? I love anything with peanut butter ... and if it's paired with chocolate, then you've got me hook, line and sinker!!
  • Just an update ... for those who may be interested. We made it back to our home country earlier this week, I have now gotten back to 58kg with not baking anything since early last week and eating under 1500 most days. I am very tired and jetlagged ... and will give myself a day or so over the weekend to bake, but am trying…
