I think not giving myself permission to fall into bad habits is a good thing. It's so easy to rationalize eating poor foods by saying, "I can't find anything to eat that is beneficial to me, so I might as well have this ______" It's just a big lie. I have been lying to myself.

I'm so glad I found this today. I need to print out those points.

I love quest bars but every time I eat one I end up constipated and with major pain. I have 3 in my desk that I can't eat :(

I had a period on January 27 this year and nothing since surgery which was 2-4-15. I'm guessing it's menopause. I'm 50.

I bought one. I think whatever exercise makes you have fun is good. I tried it for the first time and it kicked butt and I use free weights everyday.

Granted: The cart stayed upright, but it mowed over five people on it's way down the hill. Wish: That my chin would stop sprouting hair.

Granted, but now you are a fetus and have nine months to wait. I wish that it was sunny outside.

Thank you all, I am going to look at this as a learning curve. I just wish that there were not so many learning curves with the sleeve.

I am frustrated, too. I have lost 22 lbs since surgery and it just feels like I am stuck. I regret EVERY single time I told someone to just relax when they have a stall. Stalls are BRUTAL. I have not had the scale move in eleven days. I feel like shaving my head just to see some movement, but that's not a fat loss. I did…

Hi Lizzie, I had VSG back in early February. I had changed a lot of my habits during the 6 month diet that I had to go on before approval. I also developed some great habits as far as working out has gone. I am just now 5 weeks post VSG and getting back to swimming again. I love my sleeve.

Hi, I am Jan and I just had my VSG 2/4/15. Feeling great and down HW: 298 SW: 256 CW: 232. The span between my highest weight and my surgery weight was 2 years. I lost 17 lbs on the 6 month insurance diet.

I had the vertical sleeve surgery done in early February of this year. My GI surgeon recommended it because I have other GI problems, which are exacerbated by my weight in the belly region. The surgery was fine, I had no complications. I was hurting for a couple of weeks from the deep incisions, but now, five weeks out, I…

I'll have to have another endoscopy in six months, but i can live with that.

The staff dieticians at my hospital tend to be very harsh about the diet. Now I know it's good for them to be straight shooters. I have gotten a lot of good advice from them, but one of them keeps mentioning that she naturally weighs 100 lbs and can eat 'anything she wants'. I just think it's mean. I don't think she's…

I am still pre-op, in the insurance diet phase. When I had to buy a coat, I was going to buy it online at the fat lady store, but decided to try a local store. Instead of the 3-5X that I would have bought before (because bigger was always better), I found that I fit into a 2X. I was so stunned. I mean, I just stood there…

I am pre-op and I lose hair all the time. I have lost hair for years. I am not looking forward to losing more, but I hope that it will all sort itself out in the end if I eat my protein and take my supplements.

I know how you feel. This holiday is coming not after surgery, for me, but in that critical five month insurance diet period. And I am the cook. Smelling everything cooking all day is going to be hard. I guess I have to get through 24 hours and then freeze the leftovers so that they are not so grabbable. I wish I could…

Congratulations on the date! Mine has been set for February 18th. I wish it was closer, but hoping to use this time to get myself in the best shape of my life for the surgery. You can also find me here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgvSAugTmyRTBm_ThLQurJg/feed I keep making videos to document how I am feeling through…

I am pre-surgical at this point and on the 1400 calorie diet. I can barely do that one, I can't imagine doing the post surgical thing without the diet. I would be out of my head with hunger. As it is, my hunger is there but it is not a growling tiger. As the weeks have gone on (I am on month two of five) I have gotten…

I was surprised that I did sleep at all. Apparently it was enough to read my patterns and set a level for the CPAP. I haven't heard anything from anyone since last Thursday though. Strange.

Sounds good. Let us know how the eating goes. Egg sounds good.

I am in the insurance diet pre op phase. I am up and down. The diet is really hard for me. I did my sleep test and they told me I have to go back for a titration study, which is with the CPAP on. I dread that, but not as badly as I dread the endoscopy. So many tests. I am just hoping to get most of them finished before my…

One more, that pesky cold that's going around? Well, it doesn't really bother you to get some chlorine/saline pool water up the snoot. My personal Neti pot. :(

Oh! When you haven't showered at home for MONTHS, but you shower everyday.

Your little boy snuggles with you, puts his face against your neck and inhales and says, "mommy, you smell so good! Just like the pool!"

25 meters year round and a 50 m in the summer, outdoors. Love that one!

Congratulations on your completion. Mine starts at my doctor's appointment this Thursday and it runs five months. I have to walk a tightrope between losing steadily and not dropping below the required BMI. I am at 42.7 and the requirement is 41.

I am just now going for an introductory meeting about getting the surgery. I have a long way to go, yet.

I am at the same point. Waiting to process through the insurance stuff is so hard and I avoid looking at myself. I see myself from the side and it doesn't even feel like it's me. Can I possibly be that huge? Discouraging, but being realistic, I think, is a good step. It is me and I need to change. Jan
