This morning my weight was 150. Yay! Next mini-goal is to see a weight that begins with 14_.

Well, one thing was a comfort, anyway... I was 50 in 2012, so now at 58 I at least know what an achievable and realistic weight is for my age. I was 95 pounds in high school and wouldn't even TRY to regain that!

We had a WW group at work that I really liked, but I fell off the wagon when I had to go downtown at night to get to meetings, with a bunch of people I didn't know. WW did work for me, I'll say that. But these days MFP fits into my lifestyle a lot better. It's true, as 88olds says, that "there really is no finish line"...…

Had a death in the blended family this week, no problems until THAT side started doing what they do best, which is thinking up ways to make THEIR responsibilities MY problem, even while they sit there with the whole week off and I have to work. The NSV is that I did not turn to a huge plate of spaghetti and a bottle of…

This is excellent advice. I've done it myself when I hit one of those "I reeeealllyyy want some wine" weekends, and at least half the time seeing the logged calories before I've actually ingested them makes me change my mind. One glass does not do the trick for me; I'm committed to at least three if I have any at all.

I want to see myself back in the 140's before the end of this month. Should be do-able; four more pounds need to come off.

At this time of year I have to go almost every day to a building in our complex that doesn't have an elevator, and the office I need to reach is on the fourth floor. I HATE going there because I HATE the stairs... I wind up breathless and exhausted, and pause in the stairwell before running my errand because I can't even…

I'm a new Instant Pot user and am still getting used to it, but it cooks chicken even better than my slow-cooker did... nice and juicy. I do a couple of skinless breasts at a time and freeze some for later meals. I also used the slow-cook feature to whip up a batch of turkey chili, which also freezes well.

I get lazy and stop paying attention, and go back to what I call my "frat-boy diet" of pizza, burgers, and alcohol. This has happened several times after reaching my goal of around 140. This time, trying to come back down from an all-time high of 180, I try to remind myself how much easier it would be if this time I save…

I actually tend to do a little better not drinking if I have a bottle or two in the wine rack... I can put it out of my mind if my subconscious knows it's there and that I could have some if I really wanted it. I don't know why that is, but I had a friend who quit smoking and she said she always felt better if she had just…

Wine is my downfall... not only the calories in the wine, but the food I want to devour after drinking a glass or two. When I'm first starting to lose I like to cut it out altogether to give myself a bit of a jumpstart for encouragement, and after a couple months I try to fit it into my daily calories but only on the…

I "gained" 5 pounds in one week, but I know it was just water weight because when I snapped back into my routine it all went away the next week. I didn't expect to gain any at all because I didn't have many holiday parties to attend, but there were... ahem... a couple of significant mistakes made at home involving…

Recently I was sitting with my legs bent and realized that my kneecaps had definition... there's an actual "cap" in there.

"The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Maybe I waited too long to see it, but by the time I got around to it, it just seemed dated and cheesy rather than actually scary.

One more pound and I'll have lost 25 pounds. Six more, and I'm back in the 140's.

This is terrific news! I'll have to try this. They're so darn expensive I always like to catch the good sales, but I can't get too many or they go bad.

I bought a scale years ago the first go-round with weight loss, and it's still in the cabinet, but I've never used it. I estimate portions but try to estimate high, so if I'm a little off I don't go over my target for the day.

I know a couple of people who take it a step further: "You know what I mean?" (Yes, I speak English, I know what you mean.) They're both from the New York area... don't know if that's significant or just a coincidence.
