If your diary is open, we may be able offer alternatives or new foods to try that will keep you fuller longer.

Mix in some or all of the following : black beans, salsa (or diced tomatoes), shredded chicken, chopped up green beans or other veggie. Sprinkle a little cheese on top after heated, if you want. Yum.

I usually just steam them in water with a tiny bit of EVOO. Sometimes my husband sautees them with a little bit of EVOO and slivered almonds (maybe a little bit of minced garlic too). Yum!

Can you make a rule for yourself that you can't watch your favorite TV shows (or any TV, maybe) unless you're on the treadmill or have already done 30 or 60 minutes of activity?

One thing that has been helpful to me is to use the "notes" section of the Food Tab on MFP to record what I eat. I'm not counting calories, points, carbs, etc (and I don't even usually weigh or measure my portions), but knowing that my MFP friends can see what I'm eating helps me stay on track and make better choices.…

As long as the general trend is downward and you're taking good care of your body, you're fine. Some weeks you'll lose more, some weeks you'll lose less, some weeks you'll gain, and you won't always (or ever) be able to pinpoint the reason. Relax and enjoy your new, healthy lifestyle.

How often are you weighing yourself?

I look at pictures of myself (before I lost weight), especially ones where I'm standing next to "normal sized" people. I remind myself that I can choose to look/feel that way or I can make choices--hundreds every day--that will help me move away from that and toward being a healthier and thinner and happier person. I…

When I'm counting calories (or WW points), I would go with the hamburger. But when I'm eating mindfully but not counting anything, I'd go for the sandwich, making sure to eat slowly and stop as soon as I'm satiated.

Found this after searching for polenta ideas and want to copy down later. I wonder if my anti-eggplant husband might even be interested...

One big thing I learned at Weight Watchers is that sometimes it can take a while (a couple of weeks even) for your weight to reflect your eating/exercise. This works both ways (for example, you might actually lose weight the week after a lazy, food-filled vacation, but then then the gain shows up after you've gotten back…

Maybe try brushing your teeth as soon as you're done eating. Another idea is to plan for one evening snack (maybe an apple at a certain time) so that you don't feel totally deprived.

When I saw that I was twice the size of any of my siblings in my sister's wedding pictures... (this photo is in my profile)

Some things I do: - Give it away (neighbor, church, your kid's teachers, etc) - Throw away the rest of anything you've bitten into that isn't as good as you wish it was - Freeze it - Wrap lots of rubber bands or tape around the container so that you have to work really hard to get to the treats - Decide to eat a certain…

Therapy (which I started for other issues, but it's all connected for me!) has helped me learn why I did this. I'm working on those underlying issues now and my eating is much more "normal and healthy." I still struggle with the same stuff you mentioned, but I'm making progress and am confident that the progress will…

I'm 4'11. Started at 197 lbs and am now 129. I am happyish here, but would love to eventually get down to 120 or so.

This. Therapy helped me realize that my eating issues weren't just bad habits or a lazy lifestyle. I had been using food to stifle painful feelings since childhood. Now that I'm dealing with those, my relationship with food is really changing for the better.

It's way easier to "fake" bigger boobs than smaller hips/*kitten*/thighs/belly.

When I saw that, despite my shortness, I was about twice as wide as anyone else in my sister's wedding pictures. I couldn't keep believing that my weight was all genetics and out of my control.

Lately I've been liking homemade applesauce (it's just peeled apples and water, sometimes a tiny bit of cinnamon or cinnamon-sugar) with a graham cracker. It's a little bit apple pie-ish.

Do you take time to stretch out after your workouts? That can make a difference.

I don't SEE the change in myself so much either, but I know that it's true because my old pants are just way too big; I have more space around my body in the bathtub; the number on the scale; and the fact that everyone else can see a change--plus the undeniable difference in before vs current photographs.

Therapy has helped me amazingly. I still eat more than I need to sometimes, but haven't had that out-of-control eating thing for a while now. It's been a long process, hard work, painful at times, and I know I'm not yet finished, but it's still been totally worth it. Good luck.
