That *is* restrictive! It's good that you're working with a professional and that it sounds like you'll be able to resume your walks again soon.

To clarify, my suggestion isn't to eat more, it's to eat different. I know this is hard to do, though, so I thought while you're resting your body you could work on figuring out how to eat in a way that's more conducive to a fit, healthy lifestyle. In any case, I hope your injury heals quickly and that you can get back to…

Maybe use this time to focus on getting your eating on track, as it looks like you have been having trouble eating enough lately. Try meeting your calorie goal and figuring out how to get your macro goals met too. And maybe you can play fetch with your dog. Good luck.

As others have suggested, focusing on "action goals" is the best way to go. Also, you might want to consider weighing in less frequently (once per month?) to help become less dependent upon what the scale says. Good luck--I know this has been a long struggle for you.

Yes! And people like this would have yelled at someone else for being too skinny, too tall, too short, too bald, too ugly, whatever. It just so happens you were the one they saw and they chose your weight as the trait to insult. You are taking control over your health and to hand that control over to anyone else just…

Bumping, especially for that burrito...

I'm 4'11. I've lost around 70 pounds and still working on the last 10 or so.

When I first changed my lifestyle (nutrition/portion awareness and started working out), I had so many dreams about food. It was a bit unsettling for a while, but eventually it stopped.....and then I started dreaming about the issues that I'd been stifling with food.

As someone above mentioned, this could be because you're not pressing down with your whole foot. I've heard of this happening a lot on the elliptical and that's often the reason.

I used to think that I ate when not hungry because I was bored, lacked self-control, and just had developed bad habits. I've realized (through therapy), though, that I was actually using food to distract myself from thinking about painful (and confusing) stuff. Now that I'm dealing with those issues (which I really didn't…

Quinoa tacos! I love this idea...thanks!

Yes! I'm doing it. It's hard and sometimes I falter, but in the past year I've made so much progress in terms of eating like "a normal person."
-
In my case, it turned out to be something deeper. I've been working on some painful issues in therapy--issues that I didn't even know existed but are actually quite closely related to my unhealthy eating habits--and my urges to binge and even just simply overeat are drastically better. When I have a "hard eating week," I…

I use it as a dip for raw veggies sometimes.

Bump. Thanks for sharing.

I have my clock set 30 minutes later than the real time. Then I set my alarm for about 45 minutes before I want to wake up. So I still get to hit snooze once or twice in the morning and when I get up, the time on the bedside clock is slightly less scary than the real actual time. I change into my gym clothes immediately…

One day when my husband and I were rough-housing (playing!), I told him that he was beating me to a pulp and he said, "yes, that's all you are, a little pulp!"

No, but exercise (cardio and lifting) is generally necessary to be healthy. ETA: I'm just responding to the topic question, not the post. Sorry.

Thanks.

I highly recommend therapy and highly UN-recommend (there must be a real word for this...) threats of any kind.

Maybe she just misplaced the comma and it was supposed to read "If you eat something, you shouldn't go throw up!"

Chicken stir-fry with whatever veggies I find (probably peppers, broccoli, kohlrabi, mushrooms, onion, and celery). Yum.

When things are on sale, buy a lot. Freeze what you can so it will last longer. Be willing to do more prep work, so if chicken with skin is cheaper, get it and de-skin it at home. Fresh veggies--and fruit--are great, but frozen are still healthy, and often cheaper. Also, planning meals ahead of time, especially if you plan…

Make sure that you're pressing down with your heels and not just your toes.
