This has been a terrible week. I started off last Friday so well...then it just went all downhill from there. Ever hang out with people who eat sweets all day, and then get sucked into it yourself? Welp, that was my weekend last weekend with the inlaws. They were on "vacation" so that was their excuse to eat badly. Who am…

I did have one glass of red wine last night, but hey, that's all the alcohol I've had this month - so I'm still proud of that! :drinker:

My 3-day weekend is off to a great start. Ran 10 miles this morning!! My inlaws are in town for a visit - let's hope I can make smart food choices!

I can absolutely blow an entire day of good choices from 7-9pm! Good luck to you too!!

I rode a stationary bike for a bit today. Ankle felt fine during, but now it's kinda sore. We shall see how this goes.

Thanks everyone! Yesterday was a really good day - stayed within my calories, drank tons of water - AND the hubby and I went to a concert last night and I didn't drink any alcohol! Major win for me! :drinker: :drinker: I had a long run on Saturday, and my ankle has been sore since then, so I'm trying to take it…

My stats: female, age 34, 5'11, CW 180, GW 165. The Health-Calc calculator that Go Kaleo recommended says my current BMR is 1541 and my current TEE is 2655. For my goal weight of 165, the BMR is 1482 and the TEE is 2502. These numbers feel so high compared to the MFP numbers I've been so used to. I'm going to shoot for…

Just yesterday I read Taking Up Space, and I too find it so refreshing!!! For so long my goal has been to lose as much as possible (2 lbs per week) by eating 1200 net calories. I find that incredibly hard, if not impossible, to do long term, and I'm still not at my "goal" weight. I love MFP, and have learned so much from…

Thank you everyone - I really appreciate your comments and insight! After doing research online and checking them out in person, I decided to go with the Garmin Forerunner 10. It's pretty much the most basic model. I was shocked to see how BIG all of these watches are. Also, I've been using a HRM for years now...I think…

Daily lemon water drinker here! :flowerforyou:

I have read that although lemon tastes acidic to us, it is actually very alkaline in our bodies.

1) Eating out of boredom and not hunger. 2) Snacking late at night after dinner. 3) If I mildly mess up, then I'll say "screw it" and eat badly the rest of the day. 4) Consistency. 5) If my routine gets interrupted (work late, stress, no time to meal plan/grocery shop), then I'm all out of whack and end up eating out.

I agree with the first poster that our organs and digestive system can use a break now and then. Less energy spent on digestion and ridding the body of chemicals and unnatural things - the more time the body has to focus on healing other parts of the body. Kimberly Snyder's book, The Beauty Detox Solution" is another good…

Me! For the time being. I don't think I can sustain it long term, but it's my goal right now.

Yeah, she recommends the Vitamix blender which is quite expensive. I've heard it's good, but mine does the job just fine. I have a Kitchen Aid that holds about 40-50 ounces or so.

Thank you. :flowerforyou:

Kim Snyder's theory on "detox" is different than most. She views detoxing as a verb, not a noun - a constant activity by the foods we chose to put in our bodies - not as a quick-fix something you do for a week to drop lots of weight quickly. The body is always cleansing itself, naturally, that's what it does. If you've…

No, I have not.

Both. I have certain fitness goals I want to achieve (my first half marathon), but I know I won't be at my best possible fitness level unlesss I lose some lbs of fat. Goal is to keep/build more muscle, lose fat, and reach fitness goals.

So far I've only incorporated her Glowing Green Smoothie. I'm still reading through the book and trying to determine "how far" I want to go with her methods. I'm used to eating a very high protein diet, so this is quite the change, needless to say...
