I think it can affect you in the short term ... Over a few to maybe 5 days; but in the long run you would end up losing, based on CICO. I know when I have been stressed (ie about things with house renovations or my son) it has impacted me in the short term (ie. gaining a bit over a few to give days); but if I have been…

If you're losing and you're eating everything back, maybe get your bloodwork done. For me, my thyroid was hyperthyroid and if left untreated I could have gotten very sick. It's something that could only be confirmed with bloodwork. Hopefully you are fine and just need to eat a bit more calories each day. Take care :)

Ditto what this poster said. You look great :)

For me it is both. I'm changing my eating habits and lifestyle; but it is also important to me to get the excess lbs off for now. Over time, as I lose I will learn how to apply good maintenance habits, so I will be able to maintain my weight loss. Take care :)

You need a certain amount of sodium to maintain your electrolytes. Higher levels of sodium can cause you to have water retention, so to avoid this you can try to lower your sodium levels by picking low sodium products and fresh meats (versus processed meats). Drinking lots if water helps to flush your system if excess…

Thanks for posting your recipe Chrisparadise.

You can also have a breathing test done for your asthma, where they hook you up to everything (breathing machine thing) and get you to exercise on a treadmill or bicycle. I had that done and found I need to take my puffer (ventolin/salbutamol) before exercising. Ask your dr for that test also, where you have the asthma…

You may feel awful and look awful when you do the test (I did ... lol) but my heart was surprisingly fine (with the exception of the problem I was born with). I had cramps in my chest and was sweaty and almost passed out once but it was only because I'm out of shape. The stress test shows the true state of your heart, so…

If you have insurance or it's covered by the government, get a stress test done. They will hook you up to heart monitors and have you run on a treadmill. I was born with a heart problem and my dad had a heart transplant in 1984. The test will be monitored by a nurse and heart dr (or assessed by them afterwards). It…

^^^^^^ this and drink lots of water

I have/had similar problems. Drink lots of water and if it is a day when you had more sodium, drink a couple cups of water before bed so your body will flush out more of the sodium in your sleep. You might need to get up to go use the washroom at night. If you weigh yourself consistently every morning you will see a…

Like others suggested, just make your own. Use a bit of olive oil and lemon or orange or lime juice and some seasoning. After you experiment a bit you'll find mixes you like.

I'm here daily. You can add me if you wish :)

Try to eat even if you don't feel like it. Lack of eating can contribute to your depression. Also if you are low in vitamin D3, B12 and have low blood sugars (or hypoglycemia from not eating consistently) it can all compound depression. You should try to take some supplements and eat something with a bit of protein and…

Tea always make my Mum sick if she drinks it on an empty stomach. Not sure why it happens, as it just does. Maybe you are the same. Hope you are feeling better. Take care :). I can drink tea anytime and it doesn't bother me at all.

When you eat something sugary it makes your blood sugars drastically rise but shortly thereafter they end up crashing. This can be contributing to your low mood and discouragement. Thought I would mention this FYI. I wish you well in getting away from your sugar addiction, as it will help your mood and outlook when you do.…

I always go to the running sneaker shop. I think here they call it Runners Room. Getting a pair of sneaks to fit well, varies shoe to shoe. Here the shop will assess your feet for free and advise the type of support you need and show you the various models that have that support. I have asics, Nike, reebok, and others.…

Ditto what ljones27uk said. Also just because he thinks of his ex doesn't mean he wants to be with her. I still think about my ex from over 20 years ago and I hope he is well and happy; but that doesn't mean I want to be with him. I just care about him as a fellow human being and old friend. FYI

Try out this calculator. I found I had very unrealistic goals at first. It said I would have to eat a negative 88 calories a day to achieve the goal I wanted. Lol. So, I realized I was being unreasonable and unhealthy in my expectations and hopes. One of the members here made the calculator. Depending how far you are from…

You could get your dr to check a few things; such as your TSH (thyroid). You could be on the higher (functioning) side of normal, which would cause your metabolism to be a bit faster. Ditto what others said previously. Take care.

Yes, it works great now thanks :). I find the info very useful and I think if I run into standstills with my weight I will probably try the 5:2 or the zig zag. Are those amounts used based on the calories we inputted (ie mine is 1,200)? I think so but I wasn't certain. Thanks :)

Incredible :). Congratulations :)

I have felt that way but I know from experience I will mess myself up if I don't, so I log anyways. I am prioritizing my health and well being, so, for me it's worth the extra effort, even if I don't "want" to. Take care :)
