That's awesome!

Hi and welcome! Feel free to add me if you would like more friends. I'm also married/partnered (for 13 years) and we have two young kids. I sit a lot during the day (desk job), so I've been walking frequently at lunch (I can get in around 3 miles) and a couple of times a week I go to the Y early in the morning to work out…

Dave, that's awesome!!! Way to go! I also have an office job at a university, and I try to walk during my lunch break most days but also sneak out to take walks and yep, often stop by the campus Starbucks for a skinny latte.

Thanks! I'll look for that magazine you mention. I've seen a couple of episodes of My 600 lb life, which I do find motivational usually. I like Biggest Loser, although less now that Jillian is gone.

Hou! La! La! 5000 calories. Well, I actually thought it would be more. Today I'm back on track, so I'm not as full of remorse as I might have been once upon a time.

@Poohbelly, congratulations! @Sappho123, someone recently recommended to me to add some different types of workouts to change things up in order to get out of a plateau. Just a suggestion. I did not log my food yesterday because I PIGGED OUT. No other way to say it. I won't say "binge," but it was just a day that I decided…

Hey Kimshaw! Did you make it to the gym? With two jobs, no wonder you're tired! I'm pumped because I think I've finally gotten over this long plateau where my weight stalled (for several months now!) and I've lost another couple of pounds, making my loss 28 pounds total. Of course, I have many more pounds to go, but still,…

Starsonlyone, so sorry about your experience at the hospital. I'm glad that you did file a complaint; hopefully that will lead to a better experience for the next person. And congratulations on 14 pounds lost! I can't tell if you are disappointed or happy with that, but it sounds good to me.

It was AWESOME! I'd never had a hot stone massage before, and it felt incredible. I was so sad when it was over! Brettle1, welcome back and best of luck to you!
-
Hi everyone! I'm about to go to a spa for a hot stone massage (finally using a gift certificate my wife gave me for my birthday in January). I'm really looking forward to it!

St. Louis, Missouri, USA -- moved recently from New York City, which had been home for 10 years.

Happy Friday! I went to see "Kinky Boots" last night -- has anyone else seen it? It's a very fun musical full of high energy performances and gorgeous drag queens. :) My plan is to go to a pilates class and do some time on the elliptical at the gym today during a long lunch break from work. And I'm hoping I can avoid too…

Way to go! And I see you're a special ed teacher specializing in teaching kids with autism. Let me just say, YOU ROCK!

Made it to the gym this morning! It is so hard when my alarm goes off at 5:15, but I did it and got in a light cardio workout (20 min. stationary bike and 15 min. arc trainer) and did circuit training. In about an hour I'll get to head outside for a nice long walk on my lunch break -- I try to get at least 2.5 miles. The…

Hi Nyte! Nice to "meet" you. My goal is to reach "one-derland" and I definitely understand not wanting to see 200 again on the scale! I've also got two kids and am married (to a woman) -- feel free to add me if you need more friends on here and we can try to motivate each other.

Sounds like a fun weekend! I have to work to watch the alcohol too. It is way too easy for me to drink a glass of wine, which turns into a bottle of wine, which turns into bad food mistakes!
-
Wow, that does sound awesome! I went to Scotland a few years ago and am dying to go back -- it was so beautiful and everyone we met was so nice. I loved it.
-
This is awesome! I'm glad you found the right mindset. Also, I'm jealous that you got to travel for a year -- where did you go?
-
I love this and needed to read it today. I'm sending you a friend request (no pressure!) I am also 36 and I also started at 250 pounds and have similar goals. I love that you are comfortable admitting the "superficial" benefits, which really aren't superficial if they, as you say, improve your quality of life.

Last night, my wife commented that my arms are thinner, which was nice to hear. But I think I took that as permission to go and eat all the chocolate and cookies in a weird bingey self-sabotaging way. I'm not sure what happened but I felt totally out of control. I also have PMS so that could be to blame. Ah well, today is…

Congratulations, Karen!

I finally made it to the gym this morning! Lately, it has been so hard for me to get up and go! But if I don't go early (around 5:30 AM -- I need to be back home around 7 to get my kids up for school and myself ready for work), it's hard for me to find time during the day. Anyway, I worked hard on the elliptical. I also…

Wow, you all are awesome! Thanks for your great comments.

I wish too! I enjoyed two Carnival cruises to the Bahamas recently, but nothing coming up, unfortunately.
-
Ha ha! Funny story! I am having awful seasonal allergies this week. I went for a 2-mile walk at lunch today and that's about all the exercise I can manage today. I will definitely get to the gym tomorrow before work though.

Welcome! Feel free to add me if you want more friends on here. Are you originally from Michigan? I grew up in mid Michigan, but lived in New York for the past ten years until I recently returned to the midwest (St. Louis). I gather you recently moved; it is kind of nice being in a new place, although it's hard to make…

Thanks, Narrington! I also have two small kids, and I agree that they are key to my desires to get fit -- so I can enjoy many years with them AND keep up with them at the playground! ;)
-
I do admire your attitude!

Thanks, Pink Panda! Looking at your 92-lb (!!!!) loss is certainly inspiring, and it's nice to know that you can sustain that loss even while making less-than-ideal food choices, etc.

On a shallow note: you look great! Younger and happier. Way to go for sticking with a plan that works for you and for improving your time at the gym. Any tips for giving up soda? I am a Diet Pepsi addict. CONGRATULATIONS on your success.
