  • I've been on Atkins for about 4 weeks now. I did the initial induction phase, which is 2 weeks long, or longer if you desire a faster weight loss or you have a lot to lose. The first few days are hell because you are coming down off all the sugar you consume. I've lost 15lbs this month. Basically it was all water weight. I…
  • If you are lifting more weight this week, then you are probably holding water like me. Make sure you keep your heartrate at 65% when doing your cardio on the days you lift. Lifting is anaerobic, so you don't want to double do it on your muscles for those days. I just learned this that. So I thought I would share it with…
  • Hey guys...It's a wonderful week for me in a sense. I am up 5lbs, but it's a good 5lbs. I went from 239 to 244lbs. I just started lifting weight with my husband about 2 weeks ago and have yet to shake my muscle retention water off. Also, it's that time of the month this week, so no luck there in losing the water weight.…
  • Depends on your weight and effort...not everyone burns he same amount of calories. Someone could be 300lbs and someone else could be 150lbs. Obviously, the more in shape person will burn less.
  • Loose skin after losing 100lbs??? Not if you do it right. Girlfriend, have you seen some of these people online that have lost 100's of lbs??? They look like they never seen a day over 120 in their lives. It's all about losing it slowly and toning up as you go along. That's why they don't recommend losing more then 2lbs a…
  • watch-series.com .......that's where I catch up on all the shows I miss. :D
  • http://www.livestrong.com/article/75474-spotting-after-exercise/ There could be many reasons this is happening. But it's always best to talk to your OBGYN about it. :)
  • It's called PB2...I seen it at the store the other day and was like "WOW!" :D But I didn't want to buy it until I got some other opinions on it first.
  • It is definitely proven that you can get addicted to food. Food triggers dopamine receptors in the brain, just like any addictive drug. Sometimes people can abuse food just like they do drugs and I can see where that would make someone obese and they couldn't help it. But this is a controversial subject. I would just like…
  • Thank you for this thread!!!! This is exactly what I needed to hear today. I just recently starting lifting weights and am currently holding the water weight as a result. My question to you is, should I keep my heart rate lower when doing cardio to allow my muscles to build? I've heard that if you do cardio too intense…
  • That is such an awesome way of looking at it. Thank you for sharing this with us. :)

  • I agree...what you are doing looks nice, but you need to change it up. Have you tried P90X? Muscle confusion is no joke. I can't wait to get mine. :D
  • If you are losing inches, why are you upset??? :D The way I see it is that inches help you fit back into your skinny jeans, the number on the scale doesn't. Just keep at what you are doing. I am going to start not eating my exercise calories if after this next week I don't see any changes. I have stayed the same this week,…
  • Awesome!!! What year reunion is this? I hope you enjoy it! :)
  • I definitely agree here. Alot of factors come in to play with this one. Your weight and how hard you push yourself definitely. I would buy a heart rate monitor. I just got one 2 days ago and I couldn't believe how far off the gym machines were calculating my calories burned. I would suggest you just invest in one period.…
  • Congrat's!!!!!! You finally made it to what they call Onederland at 199lbs. :) I hope to see you there soon. Enjoy all of your success. You deserve it.
  • Powder it up a bit down there and then put on either some longer shorts, or some workout capris. I don't wear shorts specifically for that reason. I am a pear shape, so most of my weight is in my lower half...So I know how it feels. :)
  • I used to do Weight Watchers. It was so difficult to make a meal and try to figure out how many points were in a serving. So I understand why you have so many boxed meals. I just couldn't get away with boxed meals. My husband wanted a home cooked dinner.
  • I used the Harris Benedict and it says my calorie intake should be 1929 calories a day. MFP actually has my calorie intake at 1849 calories. I think they do a pretty good job. Either way, I can't seem to eat that many calories if I burn 800+ a day. It just doesn't happen for me. I try, but I can't do it.
  • I'm so proud of you!!! That's awesome to lose that many inches. :) I'm not quite sure about this intermittent fasting, let me know how it goes.
  • I like my boobs and the fact that through it all, my waist remains the smallest part of my body. :D
  • Basically what I do when I go shopping is look in the pantry and see what I have first and try to make meals with it. Otherwise, pull out the recipe cards and make a list from there. And sometimes I get frisky and go online in search of a new recipe.
  • I have a English Bull Terrier named Mocha. She is brindle and white. :D She's my little Target doggy.

  • I did great yesterday. Everything was logged. :D I just refuse to weigh myself right now. I'm trying to see how long I can go before I break down and finally weigh in. I like leaving some suspense to the scale. lol Usually I end up weighing myself at least 2-3 times a week. So I'm trying to change that. I think I had a bad…
  • And fiber is definitely important in a lower carb diet. I would suggest you go easy on fiber supplements and no all natural. Leafy greens will give you best fiber while staying in your carb range. The rule of thumb...take a small plate and 1/3 is protein and the other 2/3 needs to be your fiber rich/low carb veggie. Aim…
  • You basically have the same exact requirements as me and I am on low carb as well. Last night I found myself starring at the screen on the computer like "omg how am I going to consume 600 calories, I have eaten enough?" What I think it is is that we consume more protein in our diet then others, so we get full and stay full…
  • Thank you guys so much for your insight into this "myth". I was never extremely concerned about it, but I always wondered what everyone else is doing as well. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who has a snack after dinner. And I will definitely read the article. I'm getting ready to copy and paste now. Thank you…
  • Being yelled at is a huuuuge motivation to most people. How do you think fat people that join up for the military get through basic training...you didn't think they were going to do the work on their own did you? I find that being yelled at gets into your brain. It makes your realize that you are the reason for your own…
  • Also, I have had that problem before. Have you considered taking your measurements. When you convert fat to muscle, you may not see a change in weight, but you can in measurements. You need to not focus so much on the number. As hard as it is, because it was hard for me, what counts is inches, not that number on the scale.…
