I eat chocolate and ice cream and chips (my favorite) more often now that I did before I started counting calories and I've been successful. Blood work is great, I meet my nutrient goals, I feel better, and I don't agonize over enjoying my favorite treats. Hello, sanity!

I only weigh/log once a week under the exact same conditions and only when there's a loss. I don't log if I gained or maintained.

Wrapped in bacon. Sauteed and added to pasta or rice dishes. Stir-fry with beef. Oven-roasted. Quickly blanched and then cooked with a little butter. Asparagus is really versatile.

I average about 5-6 hours during the work week, when I probably need to sleep more but my head is working too much to get some actual rest. On the weekends I can spend the entire day in twilight slumber.

Grate a potato or two, squeeze excess water out (really really squeeze) with some cheesecloth, season with a little salt, pepper, cook on a skillet with some butter, flip, finish cooking, finish with some herbs. Ta-da.

I don't gain, but the scale doesn't want to budge. I dropped 2lbs the weekend after this last period. I was pretty surprised, but then also not really that surprised I guess.

I love challenges, and I love competing against myself. Every time something that seemed insurmountable gets easier, I get a rush of confidence. Then I find something else to work on. I work out because there's always some way you can improve.

I made a really delicious salad once with lentils, herb greens, portabella mushrooms, and goat cheese. Lentils and quinoa are great for fiber and protein. Both will help keep you full.
