I make an awesome edamame hummus, and it is great cooked and put through my magic bullit in a smoothie. I never tried it frozen. I have always bought it raw and shelled it myself. It is a timely process but well worth it.

When I have my steel cut oats, I sprinkle sugar free hot chocolate powder on it.

I tried them last week (fettuccine) and it was great. However, you need to rinse very well, or soak a bit to remove the "earthy" smell. It's kind of like Tofu in that it takes up the flavor of what you cook with it. I did find that the fettuccine variety was rather tough, so I had to cut it up some so I could swallow it…

If you return to old habits, OF COURSE you will gain it back. I think changing ones lifestyle and dump the pizza and braughtworst, and trade it for lean chicken and fish, beans and low carb foods as well as a great workout at least 3 days a week or more. Do huckleberries turn blue in high elevations? I've seen a plant that looks like huckleberry but the berries are blue. Up in the cascades at Wallis Falls.

Personally, I am not a carb hater. I am type 2 diabetic and it has been suggested to me by my trainer and my nutritionist to "limit" my carbs. I sneak some celery and carrots or par cooked broccoli hiding in my purse and just order a salad or openface meat sandwich. Ditch the bread, and mix the yummies from the sandwich with my veggies and there is a great, healthy meal. Good luck :)

I did an experiment a long time ago, and went off beef for an entire year. I had blood work done before I started and had it done after (1 year) My bad cholesterol decreased by half and my triglycerides were down 70 points!
