I would love to be a part of this group. I'm going on 52 years old and was losing weight consistently and tracking on MFP until I started menopause a year ago June 14. Since then my weight has stalled and out of frustration I've gained 10 lbs of it back. I recently switched to vegetarian lifestyle to see if that gets me…

I've done all that and more and only started losing after going vegetarian. P.S. I'm menopausal and it's unbelievably difficult to take off weight right now but I'm not giving up! :)

You can do it! There are so many helpful and inspirational people on MFP who will be there for you. Congratulations on beginning your journey.

I have the same problem. My plateau has been since August. I actually mysteriously regained some weight. I'm 51 years old and do cardio 4-6 days a week, watch calories, etc. and have the same frustration at the scale. I can only assume it has to do with menopause and will hang in there. I have 30 lbs, to go to get to goal.…

If you're allowed to chew gum while prepping food that would help you avoid putting food into your mouth.

Thank you for this recommendation. I'm going to give it a try. I have been at a plateau for the longest time (since August). I am now trying the Paleo diet which is basically only eating lean meats, fruits and veggies and NO grains. (I gave up anything made with flour 6 months ago). Even though my weight loss has stalled I…

My go to favorite breakfast is fat free plain greek yogurt with blueberries or some other fresh fruit or frozen fruit with no added sugar. If you want to sweeten you can use a little honey or Splenda. Veggie omelets are good too for carb watching. You can use Egg Beaters also. Just avoid toast, cereals, pancakes, etc. My…

Have you tried plain greek low fat or no fat yogurt with fruit? They're good and healthy too.

Golfing while walking is the best. Easiest 1,000 plus calorie burn ever!

I don't go below 1200. Less than that is not good not to mention impossible for me.

Thanks Rachel for your as always inspiring posts.

You should try friending carolinamomma3. She has lost over 150 lbs. in less than a year and I find her to be very inspirational.

DIET PILLS? No way! Nothing unnatural goes into my body including artificial sweetener. I believe it's not healthy to put junk into yoiur body. Somewhere down the road there will be consequences. Just sayin

Walking is ABSOLUTELY NOT a waste of time especially if you are a former couch potato. It's the best exercise you can do to start which is what you need to do. I did strictly walking for years before I bumped it up only because I refuse to jog on pavement. So bad for joints. I finally bought a treadmill and elliptical and…

I would ignore her and give her the cold shoulder. She just sounds like a person who doesn't appreciate or deserve your giving her the time of day. When I encounter someone like her I just chalk it up to them having problems and or being on medication and that they just don't know any better. Instead of focusing on her ill…

Welcome to my life! After losing 39 lbs. I have been at a plateau since August. I have 35 lbs. to go for goal. I'm not giving up. Sooner or later something's gotta give.

Always amazing and inspirational Gary. You are what's keeping me from giving up on my goal. I have been at a plateau since August and definitely would have thrown in the towel by now but each day I log into MFP and am inspired and given hope and the strength to keep plugging away by eating right and exercising even if my…

Thank you Rachel. You definitely have a way with words. I think you should collect all your posts and turn them into a book of inspiration. They are magical.

You can try cutting the portion size by mixing it with some low fat chicken broth or veggie broth. I wouldn't eliminate the oil completely cause then the texture of the dressing would be different.

Venison is a super lean protein so I wouldn't be too concerned about the butter. I would probably estimate a 4 oz portion of the meat alone about 200 calories and add about 100 calories for each tablespoon of butter. Hope this helps but you know you don't get venison all the time so just enjoy it. I love it too and make…

I'm currently 185 lbs. 5'6" and also size 14 with a large frame and not busty at all but have hips which make my curve. lol I'm shooting for 150 Lbs. I was size 10 when I weighed 165 about 8 years ago. So I think at 140 you probably would be a size 6. Just guessing.

If they fit properly it shouldn't be a problem. I wear mine aleways while running or elliptical but they do become annoying during yoga with certtain poses then I remove them.

Diet and exercise. The only thing I bough were resistance bands. I think all that other stuff is just gimmicks. The only way to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more. Sounds simple but is NOT. Lots of work.

But the days are already shorter. Darkness setting in by 6:00 pm already in Jersey.

People who criticize are insecure with themselves so I just pity them and ignore them. I'm not talking about constructive criticism, that's different.

You can add me. I have the same stats and am 51. Lost 39 so far with 40 to go.

Apples, oranges, bananas, etc. don't need refrigeration and are healthy unprocessed foods. Raw nuts (no salt added) are also a good choice. I don't eat this but Laughing cow cheese on triscuits is a good snack. No refrigeration required. If you have access to a microwave Orville redenbacher 100 calorie popcorn bags (kettle…

I sometimes go under 1200 calories if I don't eat my exercise calories but basically try to keep it at 1200. I was at the doctor's office today and was discussing weight and he said he lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks by only eating fruits and veggies on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I'm gonna try it to get over this second major…
