Hi!! I have been told that when I eat too little, my body goes into "starvation mode" to protect itself, and that it will slow down my weight loss and metabolism. Is this true or is "starvation mode" just a myth? I have read to absolutely NOT eat less than 1 200 calories per day to prevent "starvation mode". Is this…

Oops! I meant 600 calories. I read that a 500 calorie deficit is adequate for weight loss, I just added another 100 as my margin of error.

Awesome ideas!! I think this thread just pushed me through the funk that I have been stuck in! Loving all the support! Thanks to all of you, here is my plan: 1. Drink water! I am really lacking in this and almost all of you list this as one of your changes. 2. I calculated my BMR and TDEE and am upping my calories to at…

I am loving all the tips! Thank you and keep them coming!! :) One of my concerns is the amount of calories I eat. I am eating 1400 a day, and exercising 3-5 days a week (45-60min). Am I not eating enough? I am thinking about bumping my calolries to 1600.

I am in the same boat and am adjusting my caloric intake from 1400 up to 1600. Hope it works!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I may invest in a heart rate monitor. When I exercise I REALLY give it my all, my husband suggested maybe it's too much and I end up in a zone beyond fat burn. I need the read the above article ... thanks!

I agree ... 5lbs is a bit much. 1-2lbs is healthier and will help you keep the weight off in the long run. Personally, I am very anti-weight loss pill (there is no magic pill and the only thing that will really shrink is your bank account), but we all make decisions based on what we think is best for us. Your weight loss…

I can definitely see a difference in your face, but your clothes are not fitted in either pic so it's hard to tell a difference in the body. Maybe you should take a underware, bathing suit, or workout clothes pic, then you really see the difference!!

WOW! Thank you for all the advice! I can't get over the amount of support there is here!! I think the majority of you are right, 2lbs a week may be a bit too much. After I adjusted my weekly weight loss goal to 1 lb, MFP adivsed I eat 1550 calories per day ... which seems much more realistic to me. I think for me1200…
