  • I'm double in since my birthday is a day before NYE CW: 181.6 BDAY / NYE W: 165
  • I was/ am in a similar boat, I'm training for a 5k also on November 3rd, and I'm doing Hal Higdon's training schedule, but I jumped in on the last 3 weeks. If you can run 2.5 miles already you can start with the last 3 weeks and should be ready by November 3 in no time! Good luck!
  • Actually of all the styles of yoga vinyasa burns the most calories. If you look in the exercise log they have stretching hatha yoga which is usually 400 ish calories per hour, and vinyasa which is usually 600+ calories per hour. Obviously I wouldn't swear by these numbers. I do a lot of vinyasa but depending upon how…
  • Thanks for the concern, but I think it really depends upon how much you exercise. If you are working out and burning 600+ calories some days it doesn't mean you have to eat an additional 600 calories. Right now I'm in training, and on a high work out day if I happen to burn more calories than usual I'm not going to eat…
  • Every time we work out and get into a routine our bodies begin to adjust and the same exercise stops losing its efficacy over time. Zumba once a week may have shocked your body into an early loss in the beginning, but little by little your body will adjust and require more activity to continue to lose. When this happens…
  • During the week I try to net 600 calories total. I'll eat about 1000-1200 and then burn 600+ so I end up netting between 400 and 600. I swear I eat every meal and even snack, but once you find out which foods to eat and get into a pattern it makes it almost impossible to eat more than 1200 calories unless I drink alcohol…
  • I'm training for a 5k too, and set my goal today to run the whole thing without walking. Right now I can run the first 2.75 miles, take .1 off, and then run the remaining 2.85-3.1 with a time of 31:29. Today was the day I was supposed to do the whole 3.1 but unfortunately I timed everything wrong and ended up doing the…
  • Venti iced-coffee, no room, 1 pump sugar free vanilla, add .1-.2 cup of skim milk and it's perfection!

  • I think it really helps to plan everything ahead of time, I will log sometimes 1-2 days in advance and it forces me to think ahead and stick to what I have, with obviously room for some changes. breakfast: coffee with skim and oatmeal (220 cal) lunch: various wraps at pret a manger (all really healthy organic and between…
  • You don't have to use the 1200 figure they give you, I use 600 which ideally gets you 3 pounds per week. You can eat more than 600, but just have 600 as a net goal. Typically I try to eat 1200 and burn 600 so I end up netting around 600. For me that worked better than using the "recommended goals" they have on the site.
